Isn't There A Zero Star Rating?

I am only going to add a review with the exact same complaint as all the others. The customer service is a joke, the phone number and online chat is never operational, and the email enquiry has an 'estimated' 72 hou response time.

It is virtually impossible to get through the booking process and keep all your hair. Even if you do, chances are the hotel you want is a) closed b)makes you pay a supplement c) has very limiting t's&c's or d)would actually be cheaper to book directly

how much do you want to bet this is made deliberately difficult so that people just can't be bothered?

DON'T LET THESE PEOPLE TREAT YOU LIKE THIS!

I think 'restrictions' might be understating it somewhat. It is virtually impossible to use, meaning a good number of people probably decide its more trouble than its worth. Happy days for you.

Your website is extremely hard to navigate, you provide little or no information with a gift voucher itself, meaning all customers are forced into using it, and for those that find it so or are unable to access it, there is zero chance of any human assistance.

I was kicked out in the process of entering my (numerous) activation codes/voucher codes/security codes and told to contact customer services to proceed with a booking....

I have emailed the 'customer service' address twice, both times it took almost a week to receive a response. The one occasion i managed to get through on the phone i had to go to the sales line in order to get an answer and paid almost £4 for the call.

If you didn't make the process so deliberately problematic, maybe there would not be such an "extremely high volume" of customers trying to contact you?

And finally. i would contact you directly regarding my booking but you didn't provide me with an address

Two Night Getaway Voucher

I extended my voucher for 6 months on the 31st December 2017 (which cost me £20) as I couldn't book convenient date due to the booking restrictions at the listed venues. And most of the venues I've had to leave messages for have never called back.

I've just tried to contact you on the telephone number on your website but the message just directs me to uour website!

I've emailed with some queries (which takes 72 hours to reply) only to be told my voucher expired on the 1st June. I never received to promised email when I extended it which would have given me the new expiry date.

I know have a voucher that I've n4vrr been able to use which was a 50th birthday gift. What a waste of money that was!!

I've seen other people have had similar experiences and you just ask them to contact you. How are they supposed to do that when you don't have a customer service number that actually work?!!

Hi, thanks for your prompt response, only took you a month! I've tried many times to speak to someone without any joy. My emails have also been ignored and as my gift has now expired I don't think there's any point. I've made sure the large company I work for no longer use your company for birthday, promotional gifts and employee rewards.

Warning: Do Not Buy From This Company

The gift I got from my daughter only allowed me to use within three months. Due to illness I couldn’t book anything and wanted to extend the voucher only to be told it’s too late and that it had past the 1 Dec 3017. Can’t get hold of anyone via phone automated answering so emailed them only for them to say it’s too late. They have £70 of my daughters money. Completely unhelpful.

Don't Waste Your Money

I woudl not bother with this voucher (hotel break for two with dinner) or similar gifts. Having received this it proved impossible to book any dates at a a suitable hotel as they only specify so many rooms for vouchers. I tried in January to book to be told that all available dates were gone and that I should call back after March for more to be released. I did so and got the same tale and told to call back in September. Then it happened again so now I have no dates left in my diary and the voucher will expire soon. I advise folk to just book a nice hotel for someone rather than use these vouchers. They are far too restrictive in the choice of destinations and dates available.

Dead End

Logged on to website to activate the gift we had been given. Entered activation number and clicked GO. No go! could not go any further. Attempted to discuss problem by calling number advised, automated service with no advice whatsoever.

Looks like we will not be going anywhere! and the £199 spent by my friend will be wasted. Cannot describe how terrible this is, will advise friends and family not to purchase same.

Impossible To Book-awful Company

Do not use this company, all hotels we want to stay at turn us away as soon as we tell them we have a voucher. We called in June when we first got our gift and where told that they had no voucher rooms left. We tried another hotel and had the same experience, we thought it must have been due to the summer holidays so I have tried to book again for autumn, surprise surprise they had rooms until I told them we had a voucher. The manager of the Cardynham house in Painswick told me that this company has given out too many vouchers and by the time he had voucher rooms free ours would have run out!! Rude is an understatement the contempt in his voice was disgusting. What a waste of our son and daughter in laws present. What a disappointment as this was our 30th wedding anniversary present £200 wasted.

Non Existent Vineyard Tour

We turned up at the Vineyard yesterday morning, in good time for the Vineyard Tour detailed on our ticket. We had phoned both of the Vineyard numbers beforehand, as recommended in the instructions, and both went to voicemail. We left a message on the mobile number. When we arrived, no one else was around. We phone the numbers again, both still going to voicemail, and left messages on both. We had travelled 69 miles to get there. Eventually, the Vineyard manager turned up, inspected the details on our ticket, and then told us that they only ran tastings on Thursdays and Saturdays at 4pm (not Wednesdays at 11), and that in any case they were due to shut down for the winter in 3 days time. He tried the Gift Ideas number for us (in the details supplied) but we could not get beyond an automated message. We returned home tired and disappointed. We are out of pocket because of the activity we did not get, and by the £17.50 or so petrol cost. I will tell my brother not to use this company again, when he buys presents.

Impossible To Book

We tried to book somewhere earlier in the year and were met with negativity as soon as we said it was a gift experience. I thought maybe it was because of the summer demand and we decided to leave until this time (a nice autumn break we thought!!)

We tried Scarborough - pretty much closed after October apparently.

We thought Blackpool illuminations might be nice. Great Western Hotel would not accept us on a Friday or a Saturday in November or December (or indeed on the Sundays we could do). Nor could the other hotels in Blackpool as soon as we said it was a 1 night voucher.

I wonder how many vouchers run out and Gift Ideas pocket the 100 quid

So disappointed and really concerned about telling my parents who thought this would be a lovely thoughtful gift

Impossible To Book

Tried to book a night away once we said we had the gift voucher they said there was no availability for the any Saturday night. We checked on line and the hotel we had chosen showed several rooms available on Saturday night over the next few weeks.

Absolutely Disgusting!

My son bought us a £199 Two Night Getaway present by Gift Ideas For Two from Debenhams in Sheffield last Christmas. The box and literature presentation was absolutely immaculate, it was a really special present. However, when we some time later looked for an hotel we could only find one that would take us on a suitable date, and they wanted up to £120 extra because it was not one of the weekends on offer! Most hotels on offer were much cheaper than £199 for two nights, and some of them were of a poor quality. On applying to Gift Ideas to change the weekend to £199 worth of wine, they refused, but offered us an "activity" which was not suitable considering our age. They then would not offer an alternative unless we provided a "Medical Certificate" to show why! Eventually having threatened to take the whole affair to television and the national press, they very condisendingly offered to change the gift to £99 worth of wine. And only after I refused to talk to anybody other than a director of the company. No, she never talked to me. Yes, that's one hundred pounds less than was paid. Take it or leave it. Yes, it is in the very small print in their conditions. And it is very small print too. Do Debenhams realise just what they are selling? We were eventually given two vouchers for Naked Wines, each worth £50 to be supplied over two months. To add even more insult to the whole disgusting debacle, we had to pay to have the wine delivered! Naked Wines were not to blame in any way, but why are they connected to this obvious disreputable company? Have nothing to do with Gift Ideas, or their associate company! You have been warned. Ony one star because you cannot give none!

I regret that we are usually unable to offer a tangible item which is mentioned in our terms due to the fact that the items are not set up to be sent in this manner. However we were able to arrange this on this particular occasion due to medical issues. We will always exchange your voucher to the value in which was paid, therefore if you believe that £199 was paid, we will be happy to honour this value for you once we have seen the receipt or bank statement to confirm this price. In regards to the delivery charge for wine, this is not something that Activity Superstore has any control over and as far as my knowledge there was not a charge so I will be happy to investigate further for you.

Hello 

I suppose legally your contract lies with the shop you bought the product from but getting a refund from them because you weren't happy with the terms of the deal is probably out of their remit. I would contact Gift Ideas but good luck with that as they tried to wriggle out of any responsibility by hiding behind terms they don't make clear at the start when you make the booking which is underhand at best.

I purchased an afternoon tea pack as a gift on 30/11/2015 at BHS Fareham. My daughter wants to redeem as it expires 1st Dec 2016, however we have misplaced the receipt and the store has closed down. Any suggestions? I can forward a copy of bank statement to confirm purchase if required.
