AVOID

We are extremely dissatisfied with the service received from GloTech and feel compelled to share our experience to warn others. Initial Visit (£105): Our induction hob was repeatedly tripping the mains. Despite clearly explaining the issue, the engineer’s diagnostic method was limited to boiling water on the hob. He concluded that the appliance was “as good as gold.” No further checks were carried out, and the fault persisted. Second Visit: When the problem worsened, the same engineer returned. Again, his approach was to boil water on all four zones, which resulted in both sides of the hob and the touch screen failing completely (they were functioning prior to his visit). He then advised that both sides of the hob required replacement. We paid £700 for parts. Repair Attempt: The engineer arrived alone, despite stating that a second engineer would assist. The repair did not resolve the issue. We were subsequently informed that the touch screen board also needed replacing—something that could have been avoided had the fault been correctly diagnosed during the first visit. Damage Caused: After the engineer left (having ensured we signed his touchscreen), we discovered scratches on our kitchen island and a cracked induction hob screen. Customer Service: We have made multiple attempts to contact GloTech via phone and email, but all communication has been ignored. In total, we have spent £805, yet we are left with a non-functional hob, additional damage to our kitchen, and no accountability from GloTech. This level of service is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. We strongly advise others to avoid using GloTech. Our experience has been costly, frustrating, and completely unsatisfactory.

Avoid!!

Charged over £300 for diagnostics which took a matter of minutes and no resolution leaving 2 out of 3 appliances still not fixed. Even the engineer agreed that these charges were excessive. Difficult to get hold of customers services on 3 attempts at calling. Offered a 10% discount only which is clearly inadequate. I will avoid using Glotech again both personally and professionally (rental business). Very disappointed.

Beware of Glotech Repairs Waiver Trap

I feel people should beware of this Glotech Repairs company. You may fall victim of having a bad experience with them. I am forced to write this review because of my recent experience with them. I booked for a service on 22/04/2025. I further explained the fault and named the faulty appliance (NEFF hob) when I was called over the phone by one of their personnel on 22/04/2025 and this was in addition to the information about the fault that I had described and submitted on their website. The engineer came out on the 24/04/2025 as agreed. He met the fault exactly as I had described. He did not open the appliance itself but only informed me that parts needed to be replaced. So they charged for the cost of parts replacement and the call out fees and gave the assurance that he would come back to change 2 of the damaged hobs once the parts arrived. The repair was booked for 30/04/2025. Then, I received a call early morning on 30/04/2025, telling me that I would have to sign a waiver before the engineer can carry on with the repair that in case the engineer cause more damage to the appliance for example the appliance could chip or break, and Glotech or the engineer will not be liable for such damages of appliance caused by their engineer in the process of the repair. This was after the engineer had visited and call out done. It felt suspicious. I wonder why they didn’t inform me in the first place before the call out that their insurance or “fully insured” display on their website does cover for further damage they make in the process of the repair. I believe this also validates the doubt about the competency of their engineers- following similar reviews about Glotech engineers I have read. I didn’t want to take any risks of incurring more expenses as a result of an incompetent Glotech engineer because I wasn’t sure of the damage that the man could do on my appliance so I refused to sign a waiver which states that I would be responsible for the damage caused by them. Signing the waiver gives them immunity from any further or more expensive damage during repair. I have been trying to get a full refund including the call out fees that I paid. Because they refuse to do the repair unless I sign the waiver which was only mentioned after the call out and waiting days of anticipating a repair. They only have one email for general enquiries and complaints, however they have not been responding to my emails. The team were so insensitive when I spoke with 2 staff over the phone, especially the one called Elizabeth, less bothered about whatever concern. I read through their terms and conditions(Ts & Cs), as at 30/04/25, their Ts & Cs says nothing about the waiver of this sort, not even section 3.5 of the Ts & Cs, on their website. As long as they can manage to get the call out fee of £105.54 for their incompetent engineer from your pocket, all other things are up in the air. Lying about information that does not exist in their Ts & Cs to cover their tracks as if their write up isn’t clear enough to English readers. Awful!

Avoid this one

This company is a joke. Their business model is unethical.

They make a call out with a steep (£100+ vat) fee that supposedly covers every visit, but in truth they aren't prepared to make good on their promise. Due to be 9-5, but the engineer turned up a 6pm, stayed 5 minutes, made a 'diagnosis' and ran away.

I've told one thing by the engineer, but when I chase up the company regarding the parts that they need to order, they haven't done anything, claim the parts required are different and that the engineering made a different diagnosis to them, making it very expensive.

By their own admission, they have a large mark up (unclear how much, but as much as 100%, looking at the quote) on the repair parts required to make a profit. This is to allow them to push the repair price beyond somethaing that's economical, at which point they try to sell you a new replacement product at prices that are considerably higher than on the High Street.

If you been unable to get a local repair guy to fix your broken down appliance, don't use them.

Poor Untimely Advice

I have used this company on 3 occasions now. Twice to fix microwaves (one of which was scrapped). My third and last time - to repair a dishwasher which has subsequently been scrapped as well.

I am very unhappy with the last outcome.

The attempted dishwasher repair ended up costing me not only £270-00 of unneccessary costs but also so much hassle and inconvenience and eventually a new dishwasher anyway.

Glotech originally quoted me a £90-00 labour charge plus parts (the original estimate of which was approximately £90-00). The parts (a filter and pump)were not available and subsequently had to be ordered.

On installation the engineer informed me that the original part was not the problem and that the units drainage was infact the issue. He showed me the part and it looked potentially problematic.

I was informed that these parts are probably in stock and should be available within days. Not so, my order of £180-00 was processed and I was told it would take a few days to receive the new parts. Not so, a week later I was informed that they were not in stock amd that there would be a two week wait.

A week later following that was told that they had mistakenly not placed my order and I would receive the goods in mid November. This all happened as promised and the engineer fitted the new part last week.

The machine was not tested ( apparently we had to wait 24 hours for the cabinet to dry). Finally the next day it was tested and it looked like the repair was successful. Next wash I got the same Error message and the another E15.

Glotech was immediately informed and I tried to reschedule a visit, I was then told that this was a different Error message and if I wanted another visit it would probably attract new charges. All this because we were trying to avoid scrapping an appliance. Yesterday we scrapped that dishwasher. What a waste of money. I will not bother to try to recoup these costs.

If you use this company do not expect to receive fast efficient service or the right advice - you will be disappointed.

Danger In The Small Print With Glotech. Danger.

Danger in the small print with Glotech. DANGER. DO NOT USE Glotech for older appliances. Heres why. I have an expensive and brilliant old Falcon cooker. I paid Glotech £100 + any parts to fix it. Glotech know exactly which parts to replace. Glotech said they cant get the parts. Old parts are available...just not through Glotech. Glotech policy is not to provide part numbers for appliance they cant fix. Grrrr. The question is, are the parts actually obsolete or simply that Glotech lost their Falcon authorised repair status? Makes me wonder. Should may you find another supplier? You dont need the trouble. Has Glotech lost their Falcon authorisation? Thats why they cant give out the part numbers? Do Glotech buy all their parts on the grey market? Who knows? I'll phone Falcon. In themeantime, for quality old appliences. do not use Glotech. Actually their reviews are dropping...Is Glotech in trouble? Does that mean all their warranties are useless. You can do better, Go elswhere.

White Knight Dishwasher

Very disappointing booked a repair gave appliance manufacturer and model number explained reason for a call. Engineer arrived looked at appliance and said any parts for this appliance stopped being sold 3 years ago so unable to mend the 6 year old dishwasher. I had considered buying a new appliance but after talking with this company I thought a repair might be easier, never once was I informed that parts were unavailable so the fee of £100 proved very expensive it would have been better spent putting towards my new dishwasher. An expensive lesson learned.

I would imagine a reputable company would have informed me of lack of parts before charging for a visit.

Avoid Company

I booked for a repair for my tumble dryer. The engineer visited and didn't have the part. I paid him for the visit, which included his return visit for the repair. Head office then rang to say it was a two person job and I would have to pay for another engineer. Total cost would be more than a new machine. The refused to refund me for my initial payment. Terrible service. C
