“very very disappointed!”

My friend bought me a present from ASOS. A courier who came to deliver the package couldn't find my apartment number and he didn't leave any warning about the delivery, so I didn't actually know that he came. After a week or so I call the courier and they tell me that they couldn't find my apartment number; we schedule a delivery for the next day. Next day, no delivery. I call them again and they tell me it has been shipped back to ASOS!! I immediately contacted ASOS and they told me that only the person who made the purchase could make inquires. So my friend send them an email and they told her that the courier decided to ship it back and that they will give her a refund and that if she still wanted the item, she could order it again, if it was available! NOW I was and I am really mad because it was my Birthday present and I don't know if it's still available. I emailed the customer service again saying how disappointed I am and they keep saying they can't tell me anything about the order since I didn't make the purchase (btw I also have an account on ASOS and have made many orders so far). I mean are you serious? why they shipped it back and can't ship it to me? And plus, I understand the whole thing of privacy and security reasons, but common you can't even reply properly to my disappointment? Needles to say I'm not going to order anything else from Asos.

Hey, I'm truly sorry to hear this, I realise the whole situation is frustrating and disappointing for you. I'd really like for your friend who ordered to get back in contact with us, because if we haven't yet issued a refund we may be able to replace your order. I'm sincerely sorry that we weren't able to discuss the account details with you, but this is due to the data protection act. Please ask your friend to email us and put the subject as 'Review Centre'. I'd really like for us to turn this situation around for you, thanks and look forward to hearing from you soon. ASOS David
