Bought from homebase. The fuel primer didn't work so they exchanged it. After unpacking and putting together I eventually got it started and found that the self propulsion didn't work. I drained out the fuel and returned it to the store for my third mower. Unpacked and assembled it. Worked for about ten minutes and then there was a loud metallic noise and the propulsion stopped working. Took it back and got a refund. Ordered a hyundai and hopefully won't have any more issues. I'm starting to get the Impression that self propelled lawn mowers are a bad idea unless you spend a small fortune.

Bought new from Homebase 2019. Difficult to start at first, I though just because it was new. Sadly no! This mower will need 25 - 30 pulls on the handle every single time you need to start it. There is a safety bar that has to be held to to allow the engine to run. When released the engine stops. Thus every time you empty the grass box you release the bar and the engine stops. Now you need another 30 pulls on starter to get it going again. And so on and so on. I found a large clip like a clothes peg in my local diy so use that to permanently hold the safety bar to run position so that it keeps going whilst I empty grass box. Now to this year. Get the mower out and half an hour of pulling starter handle it’s still not running. Have put it back in the shed. Wish I had never bought the bloody thing.

Bought the unit from Homebase, fairly easy to assemble, but a lot of play/wobble on the wheels in use. Very poor quality of grass cutting, resulting in a ragged looking finish, poor at picking up the grass clippings whether the grass is dry or not, very poor if the grass has any dampness on it. Carb failed, engine started and ran, but was "hunting", carb replaced with new one, problem persisted. Started leaking fuel in use and in storage. Given it up as a failure and replaced it with a new mower, not Qualcast Wouldn't recommend purchase of this model.

I bought a Qualcast SPP41 petrol mower and at first I was pleased with it. It was easy to start andcut the grass well. I had only had the mower about 4 months and one morning I found the garage floor soaked with petrol around the mower. The whole petrol tank had emptied on the floor. The whole house stank and thank heavens we are not smokers or a fire could easily result. I took the mower back to an service centre as the mower was under warranty. The agent cleaned out the carburettor and petrol tank and charged me £85 because he would not support a warranty claim as he claimed I had used dirty petrol. There is no petrol tap on the mower and the petrol is gravity feed so a small amount of debris can cause the float valve to leak. The petrol I used came from the same container I have used for many years and I can see no contamination in it. This is beside the point. To have a gravity feed petrol supply with no on/ off tap is an accident waiting to happen. I maintain it is inherently unsafe without a tap so I advise against buying this machine.

Have been using this mower now for 3months now and it has performed very well from all aspects. Capable of cutting various lengths grass with relative ease. Starting normally with some priming is easy (hot or cold), as is adjusting the cut level with the one lever operation. The self propelled feature whilst not variable speed is set at a nice walking pace. This mower replaced my previous one which was 15 years old, albeit the Briggs and Stratton engine was still working fine and the engine on this new mower seems livelier and more refined.

Only had the mower 5 days upon 2nd time attempting to use,pulled the cord up through the hook as told to do by instruction booklet the outer nylon covering all frayed off !!! Now have to take to mower centre to be repaired !
