“Lapland beautifull. Don't book Transun!!!!!!”

We just returned from a day trip to Lapland to meet Santa and experience the magical winter wonderland advertised by Transun..

What a waste of money. We spent 15 hours travelling there from Norwich in total and were actually there in the snow for only 3 hours!

The Transun rep was friendly but had no idea what was going on, we were herded from place to place queueing for a ride on a reindeer sleigh that just went round in a circle! It took longer to get in it than the ride lasted.

The husky safari was a larger circle on a frozen lake for 4 minutes and whilst we waited for 25 mins to have our turn we were right near a chained up husky dog that was tangled in the chains and parents were constantly worried about their children going near it...

I wanted to drive a snowmobile too and filled out an extensive disclaimer which made me think it was gonna be great! We were told that the children would accompany us in a sleigh pulled by snowmobile just ahead of us... But when we went to do it we were told we would have tolerate our children behind, on their own in the dark to wait forums to return!!! REALLY?
we gave thata miss!!

This is what happens when everything is run by students earning minimum wage over the Xmas period! No offence to them as they seemed to try but had no backup from Transum.

The 'activities' consisted of amusing ourselves on a tiny mound of snow and a plastic sledge/tea tray with no rope to pull it and a lot of crashing in to other visitors, this was all unsupervised and I saw at least one child crying from crashing into others as the run actually crossed the path ;(

Our trip to see Santa was ok, we were towed in a sleigh fashioned from cargo pallets with a duvet to sit on and Igor a thorough snow blasting at what felt like 80 mph, the helmets my 5 yr old son and I were given had no visors and I had to take my hat off to shield his eyes!
Santa was quite good, the setting looked the part but his beard was false and we were expecting a genuine looking Santa, I could have found this guy in a department store!!

Overall not a. Very magical experience for the amount of money it cost and Transun really seem to not really care as long as they get your cash!
