We recently enjoyed a fantastic stay here over New Year . The manageress and all the staff were always friendly ( although not effusive) and helpful at all times. We went with 3 children who were offered other food if they didn't like the dinner menu ( apart from New Year when the staff served 9 courses). There was always plenty of bread cheese and salad. The spa was great too.

Great skiing at this resort in April so everything else is not that big a deal.
As far as the hotel is concerned, I was a little worried having read the reviews. Initially I was impressed at the manageress and how she sorted things out on our arrival. The room was a little small for a family of four but had a nice view and was ok.
Two days in, everything was fine, then I made the mistake of asking if we could have a little cake for my daughter's 9th birthday at dinner that evening. I'd waited to ask at reception the night before but no one was there. I was made to feel I'd asked for something entirely unreasonable.
I tried to pin the manageress down a couple of times that day as to whether she would manage a cake and got less than clear replies so I went to the Spar in the village and bought one. I then took it to reception and asked if they could bring it out during our meal and was told that there already was a cake prepared.
In the end there was a lovely little cake that was brought out and all the waitresses sang Happy Birthday.
So on reflection what to make of it all? I'm afraid the manageress needs to accept that customer service is not her thing and although she manages to produce the goods, she causes way too much friction. Her heart in is the right place but she has limited abilities for the customer service part of the job she's doing.
We'll probably go back to Obergurgl but not to the Steiner hotels.
They didn't charge us for the cake.

Overall very good. Obergurgl is a very pleasant ski resort as well. Excellent food. Great room. Really liked the greeting when we got there. The owner works really hard! Small boot room. Not enough space for skis. Said it had a games room but doesn't really.

16 of us enjoyed a lovely stay at the Hotel Bellevue and were made very welcome. The children had a fantastic time.

We have skied in France, Italy, Canada, Bulgaria and Andorra. We loved Obergurgl and we plan to go back to the Hotel Bellevue next year.

The Obergurgl resort in Austria was excellent, with a great atmosphere and superb skiing.
The hotel Bellevue was reasonably pleasant and comfortable, but not exceptional by modern standards.
The heating in our bedroom was faulty, and the manager not only failed to help, but offered no apology or compensation. The dining arrangements were inflexible, and involved sharing a table with other guests. One couple asked for their own table as it was their anniversary, and the manager begrudgingly allowed it on condition that it was for one night only.
Overall the hotel was let down by the manager's attitude to customer service.

The hotel staff at Hotel Bellevue, and particularly the hotel manager, were extremely helpful and friendly during our recent stay. The food was excellent and very well presented. The choices were varied and included the traditional local dishes. The rooms were very clean and spacious, though some appear a little dark at first. The lounge areas are among the largest we have ever seen in a ski resort. The views from the lounge and many bedrooms are superb. There is a brightly lit interconnecting tunnel between Bellevue and its sister Hotel - the Austria and is typical of many hotel arrangements in small Austrian villages. The tunnel also leads to the swimming pool, sauna, and health centre and beauty parlour - in the winter this must be a major plus to be able to visit additional bars etc. without getting cold or wet. Of course, if you pay extra, then you can stay in the Hotel Austria, however it is a high price to pay for a short walk...

We travelled to Obergurgl to Hotel Bellevue as it was advertised as having childcare facilities. This proved to be the cases, but the childcare assistant could not speak English. The room was painfully small for a family of 4 and overheated at night. Most disappointingly, the management were unwelcoming and unhelpful - they did not seem to have any concept of customer service. A disappointing stay in a beautiful resort.

When we arrived at Hotel Bellevue - your family apartment is not available, although you booked it 6 months ago, I've let the people already in it stop for 3 more days. You can have 2 rooms and thats it, no other option, no apology. After tour reps had discussed this with her the manageress never spoke or looked at us again, in fact she was hostile.
Recommend you book somewhere else.

Hotel Bellevue staff are good, food all good. Not far to walk to the slopes, but We won't be back.

I've been to the Bellevue hotel with friends on three separate occasions and to Obergurgl many more times to other hotels. Whilst a little more expensive the facilites are great with the indoor pool, sauna and steam room a great attraction (although beware - this is full european 'rules' - no clothes in the sauna area!)
The food is of the highest standard and I heartily recommend this hotel for quality and for location in the resort. The nightclub under the hotel is great fun!

I couldn't agree more with your view of the management. They're fine until something is not right, then they don't want to know.
