Over Priced For What It Is

Arrived at Park Hyatt hotel to check in on 24th March 2013, sent previous emails to hotel to confirm room bookings and to make sure our 4/5 families all were in the same block or together as requested. Problems checking in, could not find our names to start, and the rooms were all separated which was not a great start to the trip. The beds are mediocre, within the UK the Premier Inn which is possibly 10 times cheaper has better beds. I stayed in a room for 3 people, one double bed, and a single bed which felt like sleeping on a bed of stone. We requested for this room to be on the ground floor and my mother has bad arthritis in her legs and finds it very difficult to walk up and down stairs. Even though we requested this, nothing could be done. The hotel itself was clean, however simple facilities like ATM machines or even WIFI were not available. WIFI had to be paid for at an extortionate price. The pool was very nice, however prices at the bars and at the restaurants which again had mediocre food, the prices there were almost 3 times more that anywhere else. Some of the staff were very friendly but alot of the times the answers to simple requests were no. Be wary the bar closes at 12 midnight, so if you fancy drinking further, expect a rude no. Do not bother trying to get the 'complimentary' buggy service which can take you to the beach or around the resort, this is a dire service, when you request one it will arrive at least 20 mins late, given there is over 500 guests at the hotel you would expect them to have a lot more of these 5 star buggies available. The spa is even worse, they constantly try to sell you the massages on 'offer' which may be something you don't even want. The prices of the spa are ridiculous, at least 3/4 times more than that within the city. You are looking at at least 10k/13k rupees for a massage for 1 hour 30mins. If you are planning to go to GOA, avoid this hotel as there are alot more choices and better quality like the Alila Diwa which I wish I had stayed in now.
