“Avoid at all costs”

★★☆☆☆

written by Concetta80 on 15/01/2022

They send a lesson module each time you send an assignment, each time it takes a month.
I started in September (if not august) and still at lesson 2, waiting their review and new module since middle of December.
The course is extremely basic and doesn’t teach anything that an amateur photographer doesn’t already know.
Definitely not worth the money, there are much cheaper courses than this one with much better content

It sounds like this person paid their course fees by using a monthly payment plan. I am a Regent Academy student and I receive the next assignment when the monthly fee has been paid. There is nothing wrong with this and I feel it is only fair as by paying with instalments you haven’t paid for the course in full so shouldn’t receive all of the modules upfront. I have nothing but praise for this college.

I must also add that my assignments have been marked and returned to me by post very quickly despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The service I have received from the Regent Academy has been second to none.

Well, as said already above, with me they’re finding the excuse of the pandemic to say that teacher are not always available and as much as they know this is frustrating there is not much they can do, however reading from you now that pandemic didn’t affect their way to work, so as suspected, it’s all about the money, thanks for confirming to me.
And by the way, I don’t know which course you did, but the photography one is so basic and doesn’t give value for the money spent.
I had a photography “basic” course at my local college, paid £145 (with regent is around £500) and learn so much more.
Definitely think I have waste my money

As said above, the excuse is always that because of the pandemics much as they know it can frustrating for students they don’t have all teachers available and this is slowing down the process, I’m glad to hear this is not your case, but it is mine.
Also, I have not idea what course you’re on, but the photography is honestly the most basic you could ever take, doesn’t give any great value, there are online courses for £10 that give you the same informations.
I paid £145 to my local college for a photography “basic” course and I have learned so much, started and finished in two months.
I’m glad you have been treated well, but for me has been a waste of money

It seems right, we can’t all afford the full payment, but if you like to know, I finish my payment two months ago and we’re still on module 4, each time I email them they reply telling they know how frustrating can be for students, but from the pandemic not all teacher are available and each time I’m waiting a month to get response, at the point that I had a physical course at the college where I live and lost all the enthusiasm (together with my money with this people).
I’m glad you could pay on full and your experience is completely different, but if an academy gives the chance of payment plans for us “poor people” should not treat us completely differently, but I’m sure you don’t think this way
