Like any diet this only works if you commit to it, and you have no more chance of putting the weight back on than you do with any other diet. If you achieve your target weight and then go back to eating as you did before, then yes, you will put the weight back on. But that is why the group sessions and route to management are so important, and you must have a LL counsellor who is supportive and informed.
I've lost 10 1/2 stones in 9 months and I've struggled at times, but overall I would rather do this than subject myself to unnecessary surgery for a 'quick fix'. And you can have a social life while on the plan, you just need supportive friends and family who understand and encourage you.
I have monthly check ups at the doctors (as per LL's requirements) and they are very happy with my progress - my weight was far more of a health concern than the diet and they have been happy for me to continue.
This plan works for me, but as with everything in life it wont suit everyone. Just find the plan that works best for you and stick with it.
