I Bought A Car From Them, With A Service Log, Whic

I bought a car from them, with a service log, which they claimed was the service history. Within a few days the car didn't seem right. I reviewed the service log and called the servicing company (6 years worth of stamps), who stated they had no record of the car ever being serviced at their premises. I sent them a photocopy of the stamped service book, which they told me was fake.

I believe the director of this company, now trades under the name Calder cars, to hide previous transgressions, although the premises is still in the same place.I have tried various avenues to get my money back, to no avail.

Please do not buy from them, who have no morels in the pursuit of money.

Avoid at all costs!!!

Do Not Buy From This So Called Garage. No Trading

Do not buy from this so called garage. No trading documents made up trading name wouldn't be surprised if these guys don't pay tax, no receipts they will just up and leave. Car I bought was faulty after inspection trading standards need to close them down!

Bought A Car From Them Back In May. They Cut The T

Bought a car from them back in May. They cut the top off my debit card receipts so I couldn't see the trading name and lied on the invoice saying the car was sold as spares or repairs, which I was told (OK, perhaps naively so, but I don't buy cars often) this meant there was no warranty.

Upon driving the car 50 miles home I noticed the brakes didn't work properly, so before I even got home I went via a local garage who I trust who told me the car was not roadworthy, the brakes were worn and unsafe and the head gasket was blown.

Rang them up to explain I wanted a full refund and they laughed at me down the phone. Refused to accept there was anything wrong with the car. They watched me drive the car off the forecourt onto a public road and gave me a 'valid MOT certificate' however, all their cars seem to be done at the same place with a year on them so wonder if there's something going on there too? Under legal guidance it is a criminal offence to knowingly sell something an unroadworthy car, and despite writing that pathetic caveat about spares or repairs, he watched me drive the car off and shouldn't have given me a valid MOT certificate for the vehicle.

Reported to the bank and the police, who couldn't do much (surprise surprise) but have had dealings with them before, and because I didn't pay on my credit card I wasn't covered for a chargeback. Despite the goods not being fit for purpose.

Overall I had to scrap the car and lost £325, luckily it wasn't more.

Further investigation shows the two owners haven't legally registered the business and the money was taken from my account by Denby Dale Autos who are apparently a dissolved company according to Companies House. I would suggest HMRC take a good look at their books. Why cut the top off my card receipts?

STEER WELL CLEAR.

I bought a 08 plate mitsubishi l200 for £5000 I work all over the country I have done 7k plus miles already and not had a problem yet. might be the fact that you have bought a £400+ car (sold as seen) if I ever bought a sold as seen car I would go straight to a garage and have the bits sorted hence why so cheap. I also never had the receipt cut?

Why the capitals?

You buy a car that the dealer is TOLD it is for a new car driver, knows you are driving on the road with it and tells you it has passed its MoT - why would you bother doing that if the car was scrap?

Secondly, I am no mechanic so how would I know what a head gasket is? The brakes didn't feel great but the pads may have been worn/within tolerance. I didn't pay £325 for it, I LOST that after the scrap value had been realised. Learn to read (you sound like you work for them?)

Interestingly when I told the police about this incident they said that it's not the first time they have had dealings with this garage.

The fact that they cut the tops of their receipts off and trade under a dissolved company name is proof enough that they should be avoided.

There is also another review on the internet under Denby Dale Autos where another poster has had a similar problem.

SO JUST TO CONFIRM. YOU PURCHASED THE CAR FOR £325.

IT SAID CLEARLY ON THE RECEIPT SOLD AS SPARES AND REPAIRS.

YOU DROVE 50 MILES BEFORE YOU NOTICED THE BRAKES....!

THE HEAD GASKET WAS GONE BUT YOU DROVE 50 MILES....!

THIS REVIEW SEEMS COMPLETLEY UNFAIR .

IF YOU SIGN FOR A CAR THAT IS CLEARLY ADVERTISED AND SOLD AS "SPARES AND REPAIRS" YOU PAY SCRAP VALUE, YOU SHOULD NOT COMPLAIN.

VERY UNFAIR REVIEW. PINKLADY SEEMS BITTER.
