Please do not use these people if you value your career development. They are very responsive, and friendly but utterly incompetent. And I have learnt that the initial response you receive are all from an automated programme as well. After the first intial CV, which I was nervous about as the person did not even seem to understand the nuances of the English language, I then cimplained and asked for a second. Got a very savvy sounding gent who had English as a first langgaue but did a useless job. All they do is take your CV and re format it and put in cliched statements...I am telling you all, these people let me down at a time when I was really struggling and was desperate to just find work again...They should be ashamed of themselves for the service they provide...I have no services to sell and this is an honest review...please save your money and do no use these people. Not even deserving of 1 star

WORST CV REVIEW COMPANY BY FAR TAKE THE REVIEW ADVICE STAY WELL CLEAR.

If I could have left zero stars I would have. I paid for the executive level service and what I received was absolutely unusable. Despite confirming it would be written in British English beforehand, it was written using American spellings. I provided a significant amount of supporting information from which to draw and yet what was sent over as a "first draft" contained sentences and comments which appeared to be from someone else's CV as it was not even truthful! I refuse to spend any further time helping CVNOW to "rewrite" the CV to a usable form as it is so far off of usable, I may as well have saved my money and written it myself - which frankly appears to be the intention of CVNOW whilst also pocketing my cash. An ABSOLUTE waste of time. I was told I was working with their most senior writer, used to writing director level executive CVs, yet when I complained about the low quality and lack of attention to detail, and the writer not having taken any time to fully understand my skills and experience in order to effectively promote them, I was told maybe I would prefer to work with a more senior writer?? No CVNOW - what I would prefer is for you to refund my hundreds of pounds today - and for everyone to know what to expect from this service - it is not worth the money in my opinion and definitely NOT an executive level service!

Not actually dealing with a person. It's a program that extracts from the resume you send them. It's a complete rip off.

Awful service. I paid for the top tier package after receiving a very good free overview of my initial CV. The 1st draft I received back was appalling. UK English was not used and there were many grammatical errors and incorrectly spelled words. Also, their writing style was completely at odds with common practice in that they went into very long and wordy descriptions of each job I had using several nauseating corporate gobbledygook words. When I asked them to reduce text length to key bullet points they just didn't get it. It turns out that they were farming my CV out to writers in Australia who I don't even believe were native English speakers at that, much less UK English speakers. I would have never sent my CV to be written by writers overseas. This is not down to any xenophobic reasons, but because for a CV to be used in the UK market I would expect an excellent writer who is based in the UK and proficient in UK-style English to write it. Also, they are never available by phone and ONLY respond by email which I find quite creepy. I have completely wasted over £200 on this awful service and am back to using my original CV

I engaged CVnow after their free CV review service. They gave good, fair feedback on the quality of my C.V., and I could see the benefit of getting my C.V. professionally re-written. I signed up for the top tier package, which promised 48 hour delivery, access to the top 5% of C.V. writers and a LinkedIn re-write. As soon as the money was taken, it went downhill from there. They gloriously missed the 48 hour deadline, and only after emailing back and forth for days did they agree to refund a potion of the fee. Never an apology, never with an admission of fault, very slow to reply (two days in some cases). The amount they offered wasn't reflective of the failing in service, and the extra time I had to spend trying to get it sorted out. I tried to push on it, but was met with "You don't get to decide the value of something, we do". The quality of the first draft was terrible. I mean, REALLY, terrible. They addressed none of my concerns that were outlined in the initial consultation questionnaire. It had grammatical errors in it (mostly around semi-colons and commas), the writer supposedly had experience in my area (Project Management: Prince2 and Agile), but clearly did not understand any of the language, or important elements of the role (like, you know, managing projects, and removed any reference to my people management experience). It's abundantly obvious that they tried to squeeze my old C.V. into a new (very dated style of) template, and made it worse in the process. I had two friends review my old C.V. versus the new C.V. (One is a recruiter, the other works in H.R. at director level with 25 years experience), both said that as a professional C.V. writing service, they should be ashamed. But they're clearly not. There's an "absolutely no refunds" policy, regardless of the quality of output, and I apparently should be considering myself lucky for getting a refund on their (missed) 48 hour service. Complete waste of your money with rude/abrasive staff. Do not bother.

too robotic, too callous and no humor injected, they may look a million cvs a day but they should remember they are dealing with most cherished document the sender has trusted to them.

I purchased the package of £129 to rewrite my CV and cover letter. I received a bland generic cover letter which gave no details of my achievements what so ever. The CV contained spelling and grammatical errors. I received my first draft on the 15th May, provided detailed feedback on the 17th regarding amends. The CV writer assured me they would start working immediately from the feedback provided. He has had the cheek to provide the original CV with no amends on the 26th May and explains that concludes my service. This level of service is shocking and is not as advertised, they are taking money from people and providing a substandard service potentially when people may feel vulnerable if not managing to secure jobs. I have no intention of using the substandard CV provided by their service (if you could call it that). I will be looking to a formal complaint regarding their marketing communications as they service they advertise is grossly mis-sold.

Having real trouble with this company. Paid £150 and the CV contained grammar and spelling errors. Also written in some very old fashioned type of English not used today. They won't refund me. Buyer beware. Not a good experience.

Even one star is too much for this company. - lack of ability to read someone CV and write the summary - my career was in Oil&Gas versur they wrote the summary about salesmedical products - they delivered the results at the last possible day - I started working with them in last week February, till today I have not received the final version - although you got the initial feedback - you need to be focus on deliveries - delivered CV is without facts and figures I strongly recommend NOT to use this service and your money!

I purchased a package last week for my CV to be remodelled and updated and 2 cover letters to be wrote. I gave my writer extensive material concerning myself. However upon receiving the first draft, to state I am not pleased was an understatement. The CV was comprehensively full of errors, as stated: · Glaringly poor grammar across the whole first draft · Key months missed from past employment · Key information missed (grades from education, skills, jobs etc) · The CV expanded to 4 pages, it should be no more than 2 (industry standard) · A sense that most the material has been copied and pasted with minor updates in terminology · Creativity has been abolished, the opposite of what I asked for and advertised as something they can do · Areas of expertise section is copied and pasted from material I learnt at University, has no relation to jobs I’m pursing and I never suggest they were my expertise, I clearly stated what my skills were in the brief. Moreover skills have been added which I didn't have! Fundamentally both the CV and cover letter have been rushed, not grammar checked and my brief has not been listened too. Additionally I didn’t hear anything from the writer for several days until I emailed asking when I would be receiving the update, which was sent a few hours later. Moreover the cover letter is reminiscent of the cover letters I have provided. I was expecting an incredible professional service for the money I’ve paid along with great communication however neither of these have been met, with it somewhat feeling like no professional has performed to the task in hand. They REFUSE to refund me, even though by law they have to due to not abiding by there professional contract. I’ve over 16 years of work experience and communication is key, along with listening to what the client needs, these haven’t been met sadly. Please I beg of all you considering to purchase the service from this site, go to your local career adviser, as they are practitioners over this sham. Don't make the same mistake I made!

CV Now make claims they can not or will not back up with hard evidence. Having paid for an Executive CV, Cover Letter, Post Interview Thank You Letter and enhanced LinkedIn Profile I received error strewn, grammatically incorrect attempts at documents which contained blatant lies about my career history. The rest was nothing but poorly judged, on their part, cut and paste sections of my own efforts. On asking for a refund they offered 50% or for another of their top 10% of their network writers to look at it. I was understandably hesitant based on the dross I'd received, so I requested disclosure of the new writer's credentials as proof they were competent. I was refused any information. The matter has been referred to the appropriate authorities. If you want a decent service and quality products, my advice is to use a different company! Do not use CV Now!!!

I took advantage of the free review which was very impressive, I have to say. It confirmed my worst fears about my CV. I checked them out, .co.uk URL, UK address, then I signed up. BIG mistake. They are in fact a New York based outfit. Your writer will 'reach out to you' around midnight. The first draft will have typos - 'Manger' instead of 'Manager' - and be littered with American spelling and grammar - not to mention US job titles - 'Marketing Associate'. I complained - "we'll escalate it to a senior writer" - OK, but I asked that it be a UK writer. Over a week later, I chased - got THE SAME CV back with some minor changes - '&' was now 'and' and some title changes and a font change! I complained, demanding my money back - eventually got a call in the evening from a nice lady in the US - promising all sorts. None of which was delivered, but got contact from a 3rd writer, gave lots of feedback, then contact from a 4th writer! Got the worst CV ever from this one. Blew my top, laid into them on Twitter. Got a full refund. AVOID at all costs!

DO NOT USE!! IF YOU HAVE ORDERED ONE LODGE A DISPUTE WITH YOUR BANK NOW TO GET THE MONEY BACK. Their writers they claim to have don't exist as they cant string 2 sentences together. I think they are using a thesaurus from Microsoft Word as the words they replace in their sentences diminish the meaning. They cant spell - if you get your CV back proofread and see how many spelling errors you can spot! Very badly put together CV. DO NOT pay extra £25 to get the CV quicker you wont get it on time anyway.

Shocking and embarrassingly poor quality. Slow to deliver and very selective in terms of answering questions like who they are, where they are based etc. Save your money and believe in your own abilities to write your own profile.

This is a copy / paste of feedback I gave to the person I dealt with at CVNow on Feb 17, 2017 your feedback shows CVNow is not to be trusted for these reasons : 1) The feedback for my CV was 95% the same as my wife's. This is strange, as our careers, industries and work levels have nothing in common. Then checking reviews of your service I find the same template used for total strangers. Hmmmm. 2) When you provided specific feedback it was far off the mark : - You state I overuse "Design" and "work with". Fact Check : The term "work with" is used 1x. "Design" or "Designed" was used 1x as part of "Package design" - You correctly noticed my file size is large and suggest a it may be font choice. Really ? Ariel font is make a file size heavy... seriously ? Or just maybe it's the company logos i used to make my resume more visually appealing. - your feedback is not an oversight - it's just blatantly wrong - likely because the template does not allow you to insert the correct reason. .... you convinced me. no thank you.

I recently paid £129 for CVNow to work on my CV and cover letter in the hope that it would really highlight my achievements and give these documents in impact. I requested that my CV would really emphasise my achievements. What I received was a CV which did not deliver on that and highlighted things I have never done and was negatively worded. After 60 days+ no interviews using the CV they created. CVNow rewrote the CV, but not the cover letter. They simply sent the original cover letter completely unamended. When challenged on this 3 weeks ago they have not even responsed. Avoid CVNow.

This was the results after scanning my CV. Overall Impression May's experience appears to be concentrated in Sales / General, with exposure to Marketing / General. Experience appears to be ENTRY LEVEL, with only 0 months of experience, with no management experience.
