I appointed Andrew to do my tax return before Christmas 2012. He quoted and I provided my info on 8/1 and he agreed he would help w/c 16/1. I chased on 25/1, and was told that he would work on it on 26 or 27/1. He asked me to resend the info I had already sent on 8/1 on 26/1, which I provided that day. I phoned on 30/1 worried about progress, and was told 'No way I can get your return in at this late stage'. I replied that I was very dissapointed that he had only told me the day before the deadline that he could not do my return. He said (not very helpfully!) 'Sorry, suggest you get a new accountant!'. In my case, I would never use Andrew again.
