For our wedding we had specifically selected a mauve and white theme cake. It was matched with the rest of the theme for bridesmaid dresses, chair decoration to table decoration which was all in mauve colour. In our first meeting in company’s office, we made it very clear to the advisor Asteen what colour and theme we were looking for. I even showed him the colour I wanted, he made notes and sent us an invoice with description of exactly what we wanted. However the cake delivered to us does not look anywhere close to the cake we had ordered. There was no ombre effect, the color was wrong and the flavours were also wrong I called their customer services to complaint about the cake, the advisor refused to transfer the call to any manager and said the person who took order is not there and there is no manager available , only way to register your complaint is via email, we sent an email promptly, till date no response, no acknowledgement. How did the chef get the flavours of the cake so wrong? The flavours were blindly replaced with vanilla and victoria sponge. The whole experience has been very poor, the only thing that was totally out of décor and not even of the taste and color we wanted was the wedding Cake. We wasted few hours visiting the Cakes Today office in Wembley to select the right cake for our special occasion and it all seems to have been a total waste. The end Results was really disappointing. Something is not right with this company’s operational team. It was not a birthday cake or just any other occasion, it was a wedding cake, how can the team be so unprofessional and irresponsible. I was hugely disappointed to see the wrong cake turn up on my wedding day. They ruined my theme, sent me a wrong color cake with wrong flavours. We had put so much effort and time in getting everything right but this company seems to be all about money. They have not entertained our calls, they have not responded to our email complain as well. For a wedding cake, they didn’t get the colour right, flavours were wrong, design wrong, there was no Ombre effect, no flowers sent with the cake for decoration. Company employees did not even bother to call or send and apology email. Do not buy from this cake company, They are a SHAM.

I ate Cakes Today cake at one of the wedding, Actually the cake looks super and taste was good. Will Order From them again.

I am disappoint to have received an email from you claiming it is somehow "my bad luck" to have received a cake that was neither presentable or edible. People buy personalised cakes for special days, great events and remarkable moments. Thus, you are not selling a product. You are making part of someone's experience. By looking at the cake, I noticed it was different from what I had ordered. Imediatly I asked for it to be improved and it returned a bit worse than it was (I asked for pastel orange and green colours and I got bright blue and gold). It was my special day and it was all I got. I made a comment about not being satisfied, but I had no other choice. Later that day, when I tried the cake, another bad surprise: it was dry and inedible. None of parents ate it. Me neither. The cake is still in my kitchen. I wrote back to you and I thought I would have, at least, your sympathy. But, instead, I was told nothing can be done. An offer of less than a half of the price reimbursement was made, but I felt offended. I did not order less than half of a cake. I did not pay for less than half of a cake. I deserve the respect of a unsatisfied costumer. I would not be wasting both of our times if I was not this unhappy. I would, thus, like to request a full refund as I believe this is the least a serious and committed company would do. Thank you for understanding.

Absolutely awful experience - both with the cake and worse customer service I've ever received. I ordered a silhouette cake for my wedding. My husband and I asked if we could have a 3D silhouette with our own design and Cakes Today agreed. On my wedding day, I walked into a room with over 200 people and was beyond disappointed. There were stickers like you'd get on a children's birthday cake on my 4 tiered wedding cake. When I spoke with the team, the manager took 2 weeks to call me back. After chasing, he told me on the phone I should have left my guests the moment I saw the cake to call them on my wedding day in front of my guests, before I sat down to eat dinner. I explained due to timing I couldn't see the cake before that point and when I walked out to the 200 people to cut the cake, I couldn't exactly say anything on my big day. He said I should have called there and then. As a bride. I explained to him the importance of a wedding day and asked if he understood. He kept saying the same thing rudely and didn't even apologise for how I felt. I asked if he'd been married before. He starting yelled at me it was none of my business and I just wanted money back for the cake. It was truly horrific. I think it's entirely my business if you have the inability to associate with me, as a customer and tell me I should complain on my wedding day in front of my guests. The ultimate manager offered me a mere £50 for the experience overall. We pay much more for a terrible cake and a terrible attitude. But the company are able to hide behind the fact it was personalised. I wouldn't shop with them again for anything.

Very Poor service . I ordered a choclate cake for my grandson's 21st Birthday . The ordering part was smooth but the service extremely poor . It was due to be delivered yesterday and arranged for the delivery between 6-11pm. CT claim that they tried to deliver the cake at 6pm . However my grandson who was at the address at the time with a friend stated that they were waiting for the delivery but no one turned up . I contacted them last night and they said someone will call me in the morning. Since this morning I have had a real run around I have spoken to eight different people and made about 15 calls in total . I have been given the option of re-delivery at £10 at the same address or £25 at an alternative address. I requested a refund I was told as the cake was already made they would not give me a refund . Another staff member stated we will have to make a fresh cake as we will not use the last evening one . Very poor service spoke to eight different staff members without getting anywhere .

My son told us on 10th August that he liked a particular design of cake for his civil wedding on Saturday 20th August but he could not get it in time. We googled to check cakes shops near Caraway restaurant in Ilford if they could deliver as we live in Northampton but no luck. Then we saw an advert for Cake today and read reviews. Looking on their website we saw a novelty cake C1446 Roses swirl heart butterflies. This was so similar to what my son wanted originally. We ordered on 12th August for delivery on 20th. We did not mind paying extra for the delivery as this was not in their catchment area. The Cake was delivered on time. It matched with our daughter in laws flowers. Bride, Groom and all our guests enjoyed this cake. It made our day happy. We would recommend to our friends.to try them.

I ordered a “C051-Fruity Special Celebration Cake” (you’d expect that cake to contain fruits! And lots of it!) then I paid extra for extra fruit and extra for fruit jam. In other words, I wanted a FRUIT cake, with actual fruits in it. This is because the my best friend who was turning 60 asked me for a cake with fruits. However, the cake received had no fruit whatsoever, only a couple of tiny pieces of TIN FRUIT on the top, no fresh fruit, no jam (well, at least nobody could taste it). I was so embarrassed to have been the one to bring the cake! A total disappointment, as the cake was also dry, only sponge and cream. Nothing else. A low quality product, below anyone’s expectations.
