Be Very Careful

I bought what should have been a 15 hp outboard from this company. After difficulty with delivery it turned up a battered old box with damaged polystyrene filling and without the fuel tank. I had to source another fuel tank elsewhere (as MSM could provide one), ho hum. It then turned out the engine was 10 hp even though it had a 15 hp engine cover on it!!!!! The delivery box had also been handwritten over a typed 9.9 hp with 15 hp.

It gets worse. The engine plate identified the engine was over 10 years old!!! I accept it was clearance but that is taking the proverbial and could be completely corroded inside. nowhere in the advert say it was that old and generally 'clearance' means 'last season or end of season'.

If anyone has bought an engine from them I would advise that it is checked.

Still In Business? Calls Get Cut Off, No Response To Emails

I bought a pair of Colt Ryder Muckboots for my family to give to me Christmas 2015. They were expensive but having had another pair for 3 years I considered them a sound investment.Having used Mailspeed Marine before for various items and a pair of Dublin boots they were my supplier of choice.

The Colt Ryder boots were worn for about 3 months. When the weather warmed and the mud dried up, I switched to my Dublins.

There was lots of rain around October and massive flooding in Maidenhead. I pulled them on and had to walk through a large puddle and was surprised that one of my feet got wet. On inspection I found that one of the boots had split along the back heel.

Mailspeed Marine were impossible to get hold of. They only seem to answer calls if you are placing an order so BUYERS PLEASE BEWARE. Calls ring then promptly get cut off and emails go unanswered. I did talk to someone who said return the boots but surprise, surprise they haven't been replaced nor any contact made.

Good customer service is a must these days. Mailspeed Marine doesn't have this courtesy. I do wonder sometimes if they are even really still in business or if they are taking orders knowing that they have no way of honouring any guarantee.

I hope they read this. Sorry for the rant but I feel really aggrieved.

They Damage My Item

this is a copy of my email to them with no answer yet.

purchased a Seago Dehumidifier from Mailspeed Marine on 30/04/2015. In March 2016 I made contact with your office to report a fault as it was not working when switched on and your agent advised me to return it to your office as it was still under the manufacture warranty. I duly arranged for this to be delivered to you by myHermes parcel shop on 12/03/2016. At this point the item was fully intact and not damaged the only issue appeared to be electrical as documented on the paperwork enclosed with the package.

I tracked the parcel and contacted your office again for an update and was informed the item had been sent to the manufacturer and would take about 30 days to get the report back. At this point their was no mention of my package being received damaged. I would have thought that when the package was received and if damaged at this point it would have been obvious to your staff that the paperwork enclosed was reporting an electrical issue and note a hole in the humidifier. Why was I not contacted at this point to discuss this further instead you claim to have sent this to the manufacturer, how do I know the item was not damaged at that point. The photograph you sent me looks like some one has either stood on it with their heel or kicked it.

The parcel company request that any items damaged are reported within 14 days how can I do this when you take over two month to tell me the product has a hole in it. In order to make a claim through the delivery company I require the following: proof of value, photos of packaging interior, packaging exterior which you claim not to be able to supply.

All of the above is totally unacceptable and your customer service so far has been appalling , I expect you to replace my humidifier with a new one or a full refund. We purchased this item from you in good faith but unfortunately the item did not last a full year. I take no responsibility for the item being damaged and if this was damaged on arrival it was your responsibility to notify the delivery company and myself to enable me to deal with this within the specified time.

I await your final response before seeking legal advice and if necessary I will contact Trading Standards and take this through the small claims court.

A very angry customer

Do Niot Use Mailspeed Marine - Ever And I Mean Ever

My wife bought me some shoes from Mailspeed marine for Christmas. Unfortunately the shoes did not fit well so needed to be returned. My wife contacted mailspeed marine explained the situation and was told to return the goods by 15th January for a refund, this was in writing, but they still tried to deny this. We returned the shoes and had them signed for by mailspeed on 11th Jan. Following on from several e-mails I called mailspeed to see what was happening as we had not had any feedback to any of our e-mails. I was told that it could take them 14 days to book goods back in, and by the way you’re not getting your money back only a credit note, so I am £85 out of pocket.

The customer service is a joke, whenever you call them the message is that they are always busy, please e-mail. Don’t even bother with an e-mail as they never reply.

Mailspeed marine will take your calls but once they know you have an issue they put you on hold. When they recognise your number they don’t answer, and if you finally get through to them, they will not help.

Mailspeed do not tell you the truth, please just read the other reviews and they nearly all say the same.

We wish that we had done a little research as I would never have used these people. Please please look to use another company as dealing with these people isn’t a good option. Just check out any marine website and you will see all of the negative comments.

Awful Company - Do Not Buy From Them

Goods arrived 4 weeks late. Tried phoning, always busy.

Don't bother wasting your time try to email them. - They don't reply.

Customer service is a joke.

Decided to purchase goods at my local chandery as there wasn't any price difference and return goods.

- Another mistake, their returns service is not any better.

Until they resolve their customer service issue, betterto stay away and online shop elsewhere.

Past Expiry Date Life Jacket

Terrible company, Sent lots of emails but no joy and tried ringing them but always busy and I was shocked at how bad they treated me as a customer. My life jacket arrived with an replace before date which had passed 5 months ago. I emailed the company and had a reply saying they will be fine and the date is only there for legal reasons??? what a terrible answer. So I am passing all the details on the H.S.E and Trading Standards as what company sells out of date life saving equipment ? Glad I paid on credit card so they (the bank) are refunding me under the buyer protection scheme. AVOID THIS COMPANY AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE.

Super Choice, Super Prices, Laughable Delivery

Got one of Mailspeeds email bulletins with offers etc and there were some excellent deals. Had a further look in the clearance section only to find a few more!

Total shopping basket value £19.25. Excellent!

Through to the payment page and whats this....another £20 to ship to Northern Ireland! Thinking it was a mistake I called Mailspeed and nope, £20 was correct, postage was more than my items!

Come on Mailspeed, this is 2015, you've got to do better than that!

Free delivery, but only if you are prepared to wait up to two weeks. Wanted some goods, website said that they were available and put the items into my cart, but not wanting to wait I drove to their shop to purchase direct. Very friendly, but very sorry, what I wanted wasn't in stock. A complete waste of time to try to save relatively little. I'm sticking to the mainstream suppliers from now. Lesson learnt.

Awful Awful Service. Cheap For A Reason

Avoid this company at all costs.

Returned an item, and after 6 weeks of waiting, 4 emails, 2 facebook messages and a phonecall I was advised my product still had not been dispatched.

No explanation as to why, a pathetic apology for a "communication error" but no mention of why they had not bother to reply to emails.

Now requested a full refund, which will probably take 6 months to receive.
