This is the third time i've ordered from Office world,and on every occasion they have failed to deliver on arranged day. On one occasion I stayed in on three consecutive days having been told it would arrive the next day. The only reason I've reordered with them is that I needed the same style office furniture. I cannot recommend this firm. They do not keep to their schedule and don't inform you that they can't deliver on the allocated day. If you work it will cost you several days pay or holidays.

“next Day Delivery” And “communication” A Joke
Ordered from World Stores because of “next day delivery” however “next day delivery” to this company means “sometime in the future – possibly”. Ordered a chair on Monday morning using “next day delivery” and phoned them to change delivery to the Wednesday (48 hours) as I would be in all day. The helpful girl informed me that delivery had been changed to the Wednesday. I wasted all day Wednesday waiting for the chair. No delivery and no communication! The order tracking is also USELESS as my order currently says “Awaiting Shipping”. Chair eventually arrived on Friday with a damaged box. Will not use World Stores again – there are plenty of other companies out there who value their customers.

Damaged And Terrible Customer Service!

Ordered a £300 desk which arrived on time but damaged. I've been trying for 5 days to speak to someone. I've raised 3 support tickets, none have been answered. After phoning the parent company, I eventually got a return call but the support member hung up on me! After phoning the parent company they told me the support member had logged the call as "no signal". Which basically means, she didn't want to talk to me. I emailed the support member, she didn't email me back either. Hum,stange?
I've never experienced this level of customer service and I'm stuck with a damaged desk and £300 out of pocket.
Watchout For 10% Delivery Charge
Telephoned to question why delivery charges were so extautionate and was instantly put off the whole company during the extent of the short telephone call. We like the picture of the desk that was advertised, but instincts told us not to trust this company. Having come across this website I am reassured that was the right decision.

Quality Products Delivered Next Day As Promised
I must admit that if I had read the reviews on this site before ordering, I would have probably looked elsewhere - but their site is well laid out and structured (as well as any other decent online retailer), so I didnt see a reason to question them.
I placed an order for an office desk and an executive chair at 9:30am on Thursday morning. The next day the chair arrived at 8:30am, the desk at 1:00pm.
It would have been nice if both arrived together, but their email did state that the items may be sourced from different warehouses, so I was prepared for the eventuality. I did speak to customer services who called the courier company and got me an approximate time for the delivery.
Both chair and desk were easy to construct and both feel solid in construction.

Wrong Item, Damaged And Terrible Customer Service
Ordered a desk from home office world as couldnt find one small enough that i liked anywhere else. It states on email i received after buying the desk that i would receive an email to confirm when my desk was dispatched to make sure someone would be in to sign for it... well 5 days later no email and my desk arrived... just aswell i was home.
The desk had no side panel like the desk shown in the picture, just 2 flimsy legs, and instead of the metal handles which should have came for the drawers it just had cheap looking wooden knobs.
I phoned home office world and they asked me to send them a photo of the desk and they would get right back to me. after 5 days i phoned back again and was told that the desk was no longer available from the supplier and the one i received was the new hamilton desk. (This desk which is no longer available has not been withdrawn from their website however).
I was offered a 10% refund which i am still waiting for and have been and bought new handles for the desk.
Basically would never use again.

Avoid These Merchants. Prices Look Good, But That's About It
I placed an order with Home Office World at the start of September 2011. For a leather chair and a desk for my home office.
They had the best prices online for the bundle and seemed to be a large reputable merchant with a lot of different offerings for all price bands.
The chair was available and due for next day delivery, while the desk had a 10 day delay before shipping.
The day the chair was due to be delivered, I was expecting some form of confirmation but received nothing, in fact the item was simply delivered to my address, thankfully someone was inside to sign for it. The packaging was damaged, but the goods themselves were not.
Within about 14 days of use one of the wheels that the chair sat on broke.
Clearly the quality of their products is highly questionable. Thankfully, I managed to get a replacement part from Home Office World with relatively little fuss. However it must be noted that when I asked to be informed of delivery date for the replacement and after being assured that I would be, again no one did contact me.
Moving onto the major cost of my purchase the desk. I knew there was a wait associated with the item, but after 14 working days of recieving no update to shipping or any explaination as to what is going on with my order, I decided to ring up Home Office World.
Their 0844 number for after sales does not get answered, however their sales line is picked up within three rings (funny that, eh?). After talking with sales I am informed they cannot help me located my desk, so I had to email them.
I recieve an email back after 3 days of my initials email telling me the desk I ordered has in fact been discontinued and there is no chance of getting one. The money was drawn from my account the day after the order was placed though.
In any case, I thought ok, I don't want a replacement prodcut I'll take my refund. So I reply to Home Office World telling them I want a refund and within two days received an email back saying this will be find and that the refund will be issued within 3-5 working days.
That was 9 days ago. I am still waiting for the refund to come into my account.
I once again ring up and after being passed around to three different people, I finally get through to the after sales team. I am told that the refund which I requested wasn't even logged the first time round.
I was told that the refund will be processed today and that it will be another 5 working days before I see the money.
I'll believe it when I see it. I'll continue to chase them. But safe to say will never use Home Office World or any of the World Stores family again.
Very disappointed with the service and quality of the website and goods. To anyone who may stumble across this review and spend the time to read it, look elsewhere. Chances are the price will be slightly more, but had I have seen these reviews before placing my order I would have kept well away.

You know you're having a bad day when you find yourself trying to help others avoid bad experiences by writing a review....
I had a quick shop around online for a few alternative suppliers for a new desk at home.
Found that homeofficeworld.co.uk was very slightly cheaper and offered next day delivery.
That's about as good as it gets. Order went in well before next day delivery cut off time advertised on website, two confirmation emails to tell me payment received, order received, the sun was shining and it was going to be a great day.
Saturday comes and goes. No sign of delivery. Monday....Get a phone call from the courier asking when (from Tuesday) I'd like the delivery to be made. Not going to have a go at the delivery company about missing last saturday but just ask them nicely to arrive some time this saturday.
As review only partially published: Short version of result, failed to live up to next day delivery, tried to charge me extra for saturday delivery, website terms and conditions contradict actual service level agreement (terms and conditions changed after sale), after-sales phone operative half baked and 3-5 days to refund an amount taken off card immediately on sale.
Advice: use local retailer or big name brand instead of homeofficeworld.co.uk
Hmmm. Looks like about a third of the review got added, rest has disappeared....

I ordered a chair which said on the website 'in stock ready for next day delivery' and sure enough, the next day came and there was no delivery. I emailed 3 times with no response and after hearing nothing back after 6 days I rang the number on the website. They said the item wasn't in stock and might be by the end of the week (which isn't what was stated on the website - false advertising) After reading other reviews about this company I wasn't willing to wait around and see if it would turn up so I cancelled the order. The only good thing about this is that I did get my money back, as I was worried I wouldn't!

After an initial good start with their customer service I'm afraid it was all down hill from there on. I was called and advised that their delivery people would call me later in the day to advise me if my delivery would arrive on the following day (I forget the actual dates) which would have been a Friday and very convenient for me. However, no phone call was forth coming so I expected they'd call on the Friday to say it would be here on the Monday, still no call. I actually got a call just five minutes before the delivery was made, I'm just glad they bothered to call at all I guess!
The main problem was after the delivery had been received, upon unpacking the desk I found they had managed to pack a stone in the cellophane wrapping covering the desk and as bad luck would have it, the stone was against the desks top face and had gouged a big divot out of the desk surface. I immediately took photo's of the damage, the stone, the packaging etc and sent an e-mail. A couple of days later I re-sent the e-mail as I hadn't had any response. This time I did get a reply, they said;

I have checked our system and we don’t seem to have a copy of this email
Sorry about this
But we have it now and it has been passed on to the depot to arrange for the relevant parts to be sent to you asap"
I guess their "depot" didn't get THEIR e-mail either as this is the last I've heard from them! Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I haven't had time to persue this matter any further but I thought I'd at least try and find somewhere to share my experience, I hope it has been useful.
