Think Twice !!

Think twice before giving B&Q anything to do with renovation (bathroom, kitchen…)

2 years now that our bathrooms is left unfinished and B&Q claim now that the issue is due to dampness (we never had dampness issues prior B&Q renovate our bathroom), we have letters from previous owner and Realstate agent to prove it.

B&Q contractor work to fast (5 days to do an entire bathroom) and very poorly ( see attached pictures) They damage our house in multiples occasions an we had to almost reported them to police as malicious actions were done by the contractor.

When trying to get hold of B&Q to report all issues (plan not respected, cracks walls/door, paint damage on our outdoor deck…). We waited sometime 2/3 weeks for a reply.

Anyway they have come 4x times to redo the painting that is flacking and bubbling everywhere but without sanding or applying a proper primer simply adding more and more layers of paint…won’t resolve the issue. Of course not protecting floor tilling, mirrors…so paint marks everywhere….

Result is paying 10K for an unfinished bathroom, been treated awfully, lost days of holidays, not been valued as a costumer….

So if you are thinking to trust B&Q with your project, I will think twice or be ready for a long and painful rollercoaster and more importantly your project will never be finish and B&Q will never take ownership of their mistakes.

Customer Service Is A Joke

Customer service is a joke, ordered items from a local store, promised delivery in 2 days, the time came and went. Phoned customer service who told me that they may of been busy and that they will contact me the next day. 2 days went by with no contact, visited my local store who told me that due to the item being bulky that it's been delivered by another store. A few days later I phoned customer services again and then they decided to tell me that this item was out of stock and they are awaiting a restock. They do not value the customer and do what they like when they have your money. I wouldn't be so angry if this item wasn't time dependent.

B&q Chingford Lack Of Customer Service - Short Of Staff

I visitied B&Q Chingford to purchase a 25kg bag of bonding and a 10 ltr bucket of paint, two bulky items.

I got to the checkout and someone was serving at the till but the barrier was across saying till closed.

The self service tills were barricaded off with tapes and there was a security guard at the checkout.

I waited for a while then asked how I should pay, I was told to wait.

After around 5 minutes the person on the checkout finished and got up. A minute later she opened the barrier on the self service till and walked off. I asked if she could reopen the manned till as I had bulky items to purchase. She said its closed. I raiswd my voice and suggested this was no way to treat customers. She told me the store was short staffed. I repeated it was no way to treat customers. She said the manned till was only opened so that a customer return could be processed. I asked why I had to wait and was told she couldn't supervise the self service tills and operate the manned till at the same time.

This shop does not deserve to have customers they way they treat people. Will not be using B&Q Chingford again.

Poor Show Bognor

Having found a product we wanted to purchase we asked if a credit note could be used online as we didn't think we would fit the item into our car. We were told that we could not order online but were offered the opportunity to order the item for home delivery whilst we were in store.

While we were talking to the chap, there were 4 staff members stood behind the till area - not serving, just standing.

The chap asked one lad (Oli) to help us. He shook his head saying he didn't have time. He was asked again, and again he said he didn't have time. A lady was then asked to help us. As she was being asked she huffed and rolled her eyes at the prospect of helping a customer who was wanting to spend money.

At this point I told the chap that we were leaving. The attitude of the staff was absolutely shocking. There were not busy, we were wanting to spend money but made to feel like a huge inconvenience.

Once we have spent our credit note, we will not use B&Q BOGNOR again.

Staff need some training in customer relations - very poor show.

Shocking Customer Service

it would have been cheaper to use other online plumbing stores but i went with B&Q to buy my new bathroom and downstairs toilet suites because its a big name and i thought i would get a better service, i was wrong.

The shower failed after 3 weeks, contacted b&q to ask if they can help as should still be in warranty, i was told i would hear back within 48 hours. It has now been 3 weeks i have called and emailed numerous times and been told the same thing, i have just called again and had the phone disconnected after holding 15mins. On the phone again and still no resolution, refusing to let me speak to management

Horrendous attitude from the staff on the phone, told me to disconnect and call back to speak to someone else

I have ordered the same shower again from Screwfix instead £80 cheaper!

Will never use B&Q again

Used To Be Trustworthy, Now Just A Dodgy Marketplace

Based on my recent experience with B&Q, I feel compelled to share my disappointment regarding their customer service and seller management.

I ordered the Einhell 18V Twin Pack (PXC Combi Drill, Metal Chuck, Impact Wrench/Driver, and Battery) from their website. However, upon receiving the package, I found that the impact wrench and drill bits were missing, which was particularly frustrating as the impact wrench was the main item I required.

The seller, Buyaparcel, informed me that the issue was due to B&Q's listing error. However, the only resolution offered was a return or a discount, neither of which addressed my immediate need.

The most frustrating part was the lack of communication and resolution. Despite being promised replies within 48 hours, I found myself waiting for over a week with no significant progress. I requested a return label, but no action was taken. Even when I contacted B&Q customer service, the responses were unhelpful and dismissive. The representative, Zukiswa, merely reiterated that the seller was responsible and did not provide any proactive solutions.

In a situation like this, I would have expected B&Q to step in and resolve the problem promptly. An immediate full refund without waiting for the seller's response, or sending me the missing items from their store's inventory, would have been a reasonable and satisfactory solution. This level of proactive customer service would have demonstrated their commitment to customer satisfaction and maintained their reputation.

In comparison to other platforms like Amazon or eBay, B&Q's handling of this issue was subpar. There was no buyer protection, and B&Q showed little accountability for errors on their platform. This experience has left me highly unlikely to shop at B&Q again. Their customer service did not resolve my issue, and I ended up out of pocket with incomplete orders.

Overall, my experience with B&Q was very disappointing, and I would caution others about the potential for similar issues and poor customer service.

Bad Manager

I can't warn people enough to stay away from B&q Ilford. I got a plant on Sunday it died within one hour it was a outdoor plant. I returned it with receipt I was spoken to by the angry rude aggressive manager she smirked and said not her problem refused a exchange or refund. She should be sacked. Do not buy plants from Ilford store they are diseased and they know it so won't give back your money

Garden Sumner Folding Chairs

Good chairs strong and well padded and comfortable good height only criticism is due to padded material leaving out in rain material gets saturated and takes forever to dry . Covers should b available to protect them

No Customer Support For Over 2 Weeks, Ridiculous!!

I ordered gardening supplies for my aunts bday. It took 6 days to arrive and when it did the largest part of the order wasn’t delivered.(4 large bags of fertilizer) I emailed them for 2 days and then nothing. No contact or further messages, still no delivery date. The present is ruined. Worst customer service I’ve ever had to deal with. All I need to know is an approximate delivery date. Have since spent 2 days sending emails… nothing!

Ridiculous, avoid at all costs.

Do Not Buy A Kitchen

Warning. Do NOT ever purchase a kitchen from B&Q. My kitchen was faulty within 6 weeks of receiving it, I made my first complaint then it took 2 years of emails, house visits, store visits . This made me ill with stress . The kitchen manager said the kitchen was faulty and needed replacing. The surfaces were awful The cabinets rotted and had an oil leaking from them. I was offered a replacement 3 times but this was never honoured . They have now offered me £250 !! Rude, unhelpful staff.

I notice that they advertise Pull out Drawer tray systems Page 78 in your Kitchens Buying Guide, however they only seem to sell 500mm trays, do not also sell 600mm units as well? It seems to me that if they don't they should. Anyone else notice this?
