Spare Parts Charged At High Prices
After my parents purchased 2 x chairs and a sofa from Westminster Recliners back in 2012 after a very uncomfortable hard sell, I was shocked to hear that my 80 year old parents contacted Westminster Recliners when my disabled fathers chair failed to recline. They said they would send someone round within a few hours to repair it, they enquired over the cost of a call-out and were quoted £70. When they were then put through to the correct department to arrange the call out the price was then quoted as £90!! This was queried by my parents who were told it was £90 and could this be paid over the phone right away. My parents said no they would pay when the call-out was done. Two lads arrived (laughing & joking amongst themselves) within 3 hours and immediately replaced the transformer, this involved plugging into the power supply and into the back of the chair, it took all of 5 minutes!! When my parents asked how much the transformer was the lads had to phone the office to get a price, they made the call outside (well away from earshot), returned after the call and said the total cost was £270!! My parents queried the high price and were told that is how much it is, asked for my parents credit card and proceeded to call the office to make payment on my parents behalf!! No receipt given but credit card receipt did arrive in the post several days later.
I looked on the internet for the same transformer and found a new one for £28!! I called Westminster to query the conflicting call-out cost and the charge of £180 for the transformer. First call taken by the person I dealt with , he told me that the transformers usually cost £95 and he would query the amount charged with Finance, when I didn't receive a call back I rang back several times to speak to the person I dealt with but he was never available to take my call (no surprise there!!). Didn't get the name of the last man I spoke to but he was very rude and stated that the price had been quoted to my parents and they paid it so that was the end of it!!
Moral of the story .... if you are unfortunate to own a chair from Westminster Recliners that needs repairs DO NOT call Westminster Recliners, contact a local company!

My sister, who is severely disabled, bought an adjustable bed from this company, after a few weeks the memory foam mattress collapsed, an ''engineer'' was sent to look at it, he said it was caused by the use of the motors, I thought that these things are designed for the job, this and other design defects are causing her a great deal of pain.
They have failed to respond to numerous phone calls and letters, next stop trading standards and solicitors.
I hope that anybody considering this type of product reads the reviews and go elsewhere.

I purchased a recliner and a chair and a 2 seater settee, I am very happy with the purchase overall.
I was at first a bit disapointed at the length of time I had to wait for the suite, which was longer than anticipated, andnobody ever coming bsck to me, when I asked for dates for the delivery, I origionally was quoted for weeks, I did in the end wait 10 weeks but overall you could say good things are worth waiting for.
I would however just addd that I would recommend Westminster recliners for the workmanship in there furniture.
But just one note please keep the customer informed if there are going to be delatys.
The company is called Regency and they are based in Dudley Birmingham , and as i have seen the people who make them face to face ,they are a family run business and the product they make is first class ,and i would recommend them with out any doubt . They have nothing to do with Westminster recliners or Anchor Mobility as they are NOW known as .except for making the products for them .GO STRAIGHT TO REGENCY AND SAVE YOURSELF £1000'S

Hello, I wonder if you got anywhere with your concerns? I am now going through very similar. My elderly confused 85 yr old mother in law has paid in full £4,600 for ONE chair last month. I have started the process with reporting this dispicable company to trading standards. Unfortunately 14 days have passed so I think getting her money back is unlikely. WARNING :

Hi, I realise it was some time ago that you wrote this review, but I wonder if you can advise me. My mother-in-law has just paid £6000 to this company for 2 chairs and a sofa and I'm worried that she has been coerced into a higher price than she needs to pay.

You are aware there is no workmanship[ by Westminster in the furniture? They have a little rented off in some back street industrial estate and the the furniture is mad by a totally different company some miles down the road, the parts are not english, and nowhere near the quality they should be. Eventually i got my mothers £3600 back from them and i purchased the identical chair, with same specs and made in the same factory for £800, ans it took 4 days!

Shocking Company Total Disgrace.
Only gave then 1 star as can't give them 0. Confused my elderly mother into buying a recliner that would have cost her £2900. Apparently this was half price. The salesman that came round to the house took a depost on the day of over £1200. When my mother realised what had happened we cancelled the order and she received a letter saying she would receive the deposit back in 30 days. It has now been 53 days and after 3 phone calls speaking to various people and promises of a refund we still have not received the money. My mother is 77 years old and easily confused. These people are vermin of the highest order. Don't trust them. We have now left the case in the hands of the bank and trading standards to get her money back. Check them out on a google search and you will also find previous complaints about the company to trading standards. If only we had checked beforehand.
They are lower than pondlife in my book. When the going gets tough they change company names, 3 are active right now
You can see they like their expensive holidays and £685 shoes!
Did you get your money back in the end? I got my others back eventually, but had to get Visa on a chargeback, trading standards for deception, and also ASA for misleading adverts
And the same happened to my Mother, the initial price of the chair was supposedly 7 thousand pounds! Once i got legal people in the case and go t a refund i found the exact same chair from a local company for 1500!
Omg the same thing happened to me as above if you think you are going to get your money back I am afraid that it does not appear likely from my experience . The firm needs to be put out of business my parents worked all their life only to be taken advantage of by this firm .

If They Ever Dare Come To My Mothers Again........
If this merchant of a company ever dare come to my Mothers home and trick her into buying a HALF PRICE chair at 4 grand and make her pay half as a deposit, i will not be held liable for what i will do. The company owners have numerous registered names under companies house, they bring chairs, beds and everything thing into your home, and do not leave until you have signed, and wavered your 7 day cancellation rights. This is not an isolated case, they went to court in March and May for exactly the same thing! If you see information from them, and call for a brochure which they don't have, but luckily they have a salesman in your area, who will sit there for hours trying his damnedest to rob the elderly and vulnerable into signing for something that is ten times more expensive than it should be. They tell you that you have a 7 day cooling period, and get you to sign away, then when they are gone, you will see that what they got you to sign was a waver note, so they can "fast track" the order for you! Courts coming!

Stay Away From Westminster Recliners
If you ask for a brochure you won't get one. You will instead be told a LOCAL sales rep will call in to see you. Once that Sales Rep has been dispatched from their offices is Suffolk no matter where in the Country you are the sales rep will turn up on your door for a hard sale. I was being measured for a chair before talking through my options. When I was asked where I had heard about the company I explained I had seen the National Newspaper adverts and was interested in and had the advert for a half price chair. The sales rep made his hard sale and left informing me he had over a three hour drive home back to Suffolk. So much for a LOCAL sales rep.
When trying to contact the company you are never able to get answers you need because the girls on the end of the phone give you the run around. Every time you ring you speak to a different person. A promise of a return phone call from someone who can help never comes. When you ask to speak to someone more Senior or a manager then the girls on the end of the phone must have another page of excuses to give you because you never get to speak to a so called manager.
When ever you try contact by writing the return letters you may receive are never signed by anyone so you never know who replied to your letters and is dealing with your requests and problems with them.
My whole dealings with the company has been an absolute terrible experience and has put me in a terrible financial situation. But they don't care. Their well worded small prints and hard sales are there to get you to sign something under pressure of which you can not get out of later.

My mother is another victim and almost the same date as yours. Have you had any success? Its unforgivable to terrorise elderly people and trick them out of money and then despite being take to court they are still trading?????
Happened to my mother yesterday, so they are still trading and scheming old people - She told me on the phone last night about her lovely purchase, she was totally confused on what money she had paid them and total cost. She mentioned £5500 and then spoke about other amounts. Going to see her this morning to try and sort out what went on.
July 2016. Me too, with my mother in law who saw an advert into the Sunday newspaper magazine. Reported to trading standards, but I doubt she will ever see that money again. Over £4600 for 1 reclining chair. Absolutely Disgraceful.

This company is terrible. Phone staff are rude and arrogant, totally unhelpful and unwilling to assist, in fact they apparently do not know who their manager is, who the owners are, who writes letters for the company and have no issues with putting the phone down when questions get awkward.
The products are overpriced and, despite what their adverts say, are not made by them but another firm. (See recent Advertising Standards Agency adjudication)
My elderly grandfather had the misfortune to request a "demonstration" from this company and the "agent" relieved him of £1000 deposit. This culminated in them offering a refund of £35 when he cancelled the order, the rest being made up of "admin fees" and "agent fees"! That was when I got involved. Following months of frustrating calls and letters to them they have agreed to up their offer to £500 as long as he agreed to a number of ridiculous demands including not publicising his experiences with the company!
DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!
No, we only ever received the offer. I would have been happy to take things further but family made the decision that ilthe extra stress was not worth it.

I received this company's flyer with communication from another (reputable) company with whom I have an account. I am so shocked that they would associate themselves with a company like this. It was only because the advert didn't have a website address, and I searched for it. Again no prices, so having noticed this site on my search, I thought someone may have made reference in a review. I got more than I bargained for. I shall be contacting the company who included this flyer, and asking them to stop its circulation.

My parents were also victims of this sham company but fortunately the credit card company were able to get them the full cost of £5,995 bk for 2 poor quality plastic chairs which stated were top quality Italian leather , but all i want to know is WHY IS THIS FAMILY STILL TRADING AND TRICKING VULNERABLE PENSIONERS OF THERE MONEY , WHY HAVE THEY NOT BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH DECEPTION AND DEMANDING MONEY??? Classic example why people take the law into there own hands in my opinion !! Watch out, wot goes round come round !

Does anyone know the company that makes all there Sofas? I have been told they are in Nottingham.
I know they do not make them but they use a company in Nottingham I am trying to find that company-too late For another gentleman that has paid £2995 for a 3 seater leather reclining sofa :-(
The problem is that they advertise in main newspaper and some elderly Pensioners do not have access to a computer.
