Terrible Utterly Unnaceotsble Experience

you need to know that once you order a product - there is no Guarantee of when you will actually receive it. I had ordered an Apollo Captain bed for my 4 year old girl for the purchase price of £600 with a 20% bank holiday discount.

The product was advertised on the web with a lead time of arrival within 2/4 weeks. I ordered the bed on the 27th of August and received it on the 9th November 11 weeks after purchase.

The company do not even have the decency to call you after the 4 weeks advertised lead time and update you on its progress. So unless you have no care to when you will receive the product, and allot of time on your hands to constantly chase and deal with their utter incompetence, I would strongly advise to steer clear.

Only after 11 weeks of chasing did I finally receive this product only to be told that I could not open the boxes or fit up the bed because they believe they had sent me the wrong bed colour. This was after my enquiring if the colour was correct since huge grey panels were visible through the cellophane, I even sent them pictures.

There was not one single demonstration of professional or proactive behaviour from the customer care team. They had confirmed one thing in writing and then changed their minds the very next day and retract any offer or promise they have made you. I had to on more than 3 occasions deal with the let down and miscommunication extensively. The whole experience was an utter stress and shambles.

The bed once it did arrive and was fitted was only OK in standard. I would not say its of a £600 quality as advertised and again am disappointed.

The Children's Furniture Company (although i'm still waiting for said refund) did compensate me for the very first inconvenience but cheekily only down to the price they are now selling the bed for (13/11/2018).

They refused to help or compensate further for any of their poor service, stress caused and miscommunication. They in fact ended up being quite rude in telling me that all of my further weeks of inconvenience was more than compensated for, I think they used the words 'heavily compensated for'. They told me that I wasn't to address the past 8 weeks of terrible customer service since it was in the past.

After enquiring if they had sent me the wrong colour bed I was emailed and told that they had. They then gave me two options on a Friday evening after knowing that I have had my child on the floor on a mattress for 6 weeks (since they had failed twice to deliver the bed when they had confirmed) and knowing that I was heavily pregnant and expecting our second child in the following week;

1. They offered to either collect the bed at their convenience in the following week (of course after a then 12 weeks wait, I would have found myself in an undesirable position in my current situation)

2. Or If I were to keep the bed they would further compensate me for them not knowing if the bed was in fact the correct colour and for them not taking the time to even quality check i before it arrived. This is all in writing!!! They offered I did not ask.

Given my current situation and the ordeal I had gone through to that point we agreed and accepted offer number 2 so we could open the package and proceed to assembly. I did not know what I would find in there since they had told me it was the wrong colour bed. The final discount offered would have brought the bed down to a price that was marginally acceptable by way of compensation for the whole experience.

They then quickly retracted the compensation offer on Monday morning insisting that they should never have offered it and they will only honour it now if I have someone come to my house to inspect the bed after I assemble it.

This was the final straw from a consumer point of view.

They will do anything to protect their profit margin and not much to help the customer!!

The only thing good about them is their wonderful marketing. It draws you in well to trust them that this 'family run business' actually care about the customer experience and not only their own capital gains. That is not true. They had no care for my family, my customer experience or current situation simply and only how well they could sustain their own Margins

AWFUL EXPERIENCE - AVOID THEM.
