I Placed Two Orders With This Firm. One Was Place

I placed two orders with this firm. One was placed September 2005 and an additional one about a year later. They were excellent in every fashion. I only came about this review as I was seeking them out to place more orders. I am disappointed they have gone pop, and have every sympathy with those who have lost money. Can only speak as I find (found) I had no problems whatsoever.

Regards to all.

I Am A Pension Of 73 Years, Having Saved For Some

I am a pension of 73 years, having saved for some time and ordered furniture from Lloyds to the value of £1537, paying in full by debit card. I am now told I will receive nothing.

If they genuinely wish to safeguard their customers, the solution is simple. Refund our money, or pay the supplier and we will go and collect the goods when ready.

I Ordered Two Bedside Tables And A Chest Of Drawer

I ordered two bedside tables and a chest of drawers from Lloyds furniture at a total cost of 652 on the 22nd September. I was told that delivery would be 'about 4 weeks'. I called on numerous occasions and was confused by the messages I was receiving.

I was initially told by email that the furniture would be arriving at their warehouse the last week of October. I was then told it would be arriving on Monday 5th November. I called on Tuesday 6th November (having not heard from them obviously!) and was told that this particular manufacturer only delivered on Thursdays, and that the goods would be received into their warehouse on Thursday, 8th November. They said that this was what the manager who had put it on the system, having spoken to the manufacturers. I called again and was told that the goods would be delivered on Thursday 15th November. On Thursday 15th November I was told that the goods 'did not fit into the lorry and would be arriving in next week's delivery'.

By this stage I had had enough and as I had luckily paid on my credit card I called the bank to have the money refunded on the basis that the goods were not delivered during the time frame stated on the invoice. I received a letter several days later telling me that the company had gone into administration, and I was shocked - if I had paid on my debit card, or given a deposit, I would have been devastated, especially as I have struggled financially to get myself on the property ladder and renovate and furnish my new home!

I sincerely hope all of you who are owed money from this company are able to recover at least some of it and wish you luck in pursuing this.

Lloyds Furniture... Thanks For Ruining Our Christm

Lloyds Furniture... Thanks for ruining our Christmas firstly. I paid £1000 to Lloyds furniture in good faith (like so many others), and I am now faced with the choice of buying presents for my children or furniture to eat Christmas dinner on. It has been mentioned about them trying to raise funds to pay suppliers to keep trading; why don't they use the money they have taken from the 600 creditors, all of whom have received no furniture; 600 is the figure quoted by the administrator to me today, and then perhaps some could actually receive their orders.

600 creditors and all the suppliers and delivery companies that Lloyds furniture has managed to screw over I called the delivery company in the North East that used to do the deliveries for Lloyds apparently Lloyds furniture owe them money and other companies they have used in the past are still owed money.

Lloyds furniture will no doubt set up another company and start trading again using all the money that they have accumulated from innocent customers.

The Above Review Is Very Useful And All, But The I

The above review is very useful and all, but the issue that most people have with all of this is the way in which Lloyds have dealt with the whole matter. I have not received a single communication other than a meaningless text message. I have not had a single phone call answered, and not one attempt by the company to let me know what is going on. Their financial situation and well-being isn't really my concern I'm afraid. What is however, is the fact that I now have no furniture for Christmas with all my family due to arrive, and Lloyds Furniture sitting on over £2,000 of my money.

I Have Read All Your Reviews And Think It Is Time

I have read all your reviews and think it is time to say something on behalf of Lloyds Furniture. I am a very good friend of the owners, and I do sympathise and understand what you are all going through at the moment. They, at no point have set out to take anybody's money under false pretences, and all the goods that you have ordered were ordered with the suppliers. Their problems were initially caused when a rival company copied their website and then started to spread rumours that their company was in financial trouble to obtain accounts with their suppliers. About 3 weeks ago, one of their main suppliers decided without warning to reduce their credit limit and demanded full settlement and pre-payment for their deliveries up to Xmas. At this point they took their website offline and they shut both of their shops to take a full audited stock-take, so they could try and obtain the funds. Unfortunately, they were unable to get the funds they required, and they made the very difficult decision to place their company in to administration to try and safeguard the interests of both their customers and suppliers. They are working very closely with the administrators to try and make sure every customer is contacted and either gets their furniture or is advised how to claim for there money back. The administrators are Taylor Rowlands Chartered Accountants and Insolvency Practitioners, 8 High Street, Yarm, Stockton-on-Tees, TS15 9AE.

I wholly disagree with your comments. Firstly as a friend you would be bias towards to company. Secondly, their customer service was and is the worst I have ever come across. To stop taking calls and removing their website without fully informing customers of the situation is disgraceful and has left a lot of people out of pocket with the christmas period nearly upon us. However, that said I would like to thank you for giving us the details of the administrators, not that it will help, what will most people get back, 10p in the pound if they are lucky?

Tonybor

I disagree with this review because...they are a friend of Lloyds Furniture owner and their decision is biased, they have not purchased items from Lloyds Furniture and they have not had to go through the ordeal us paying customers have.

Tonybor

I have read your comments, and as you are a friend of the owner, maybe you could tell us why everyone who has left a review can not get a straight answer.

There are hundreds of websites that sell furniture online, and a lot of them have exactly the same furniture that the Lloyds website was advertising, that does not mean that they have copied the site.

If Lloyds knew that they were in financial trouble, why did they take my order?

georgia02

I ordered my furniture on the 1st of October, and the deposit was taken on the first, but no order was made to Bentley Designs, and my paperwork for the monthly repayment to Clydesdale Financial Services had not been sent!! Many people placed orders after me and obviously found themselves in the same situation as me. I think it is a disgrace! HAPPY XMAS!

O Ordered A Lazy Boy From Lloyds Furniture In Octo

O ordered a Lazy Boy from Lloyds Furniture in October, and I was told they were coming in stock today. I hadn't heard anything, so I went on the website and found the administrators notice, so then a search on Google has brought me here.

I went in the Sunderland store, then placed the order over the phone on Monday... I have not received a receipt or any paperwork, but after checking my bank statement, they paid £719 into my bank, then withdrew £869, so it looks like they have not given me the 150 deposit.

I have not received a letter from the administrators, so where do we go from here?

Yesterday, 2nd December, I saw on "Google" that Lloyds Furniture have gone into administration and that debtors will be contacted. Wasn't I lucky? I saved £800 against a local store.
