They Took My Money Too!!!!!

Bought some perfume from their uk website back in AUGUST 2012!!! The perfume never arrived - they said that there had been a problem with the postal service. Then they said they would send out another, yet again this did not arrive!

After a long time I managed to get a reply to my e-mails saying that I would get a full refund but I have waited and waited and still not got one!I kept e-mailing and they finally got back to me again saying sorry we will give you a refund today... still no refund!!!!!I e-mailed them so many times, I phoned and left messages, I tweeted and was constantly ignored.

I did get a reply after posting a bad review on their facebook page - I was told to e-mail [email protected]. However, as usual I e-mailed and no reply. Like others I am unsure whether this is really a legitimate company. I have never received customer service quite so bad... well... I've hardly received any customer service atall!!!!!!!!

I'm still waiting for my refund - they have stolen from me!

NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

They Took My Money!!!!!!!!!

I ordered two items from them in May. In July, I still had not received either item so I contacted them. They were courteous and advised me that my order got lost/overlooked and were apologetic. Allegeldy, they tried to rectify the issue (again, so they said). But then they cancelled my order due to unavailability and advised that they would CREDIT my Pay Pal account from which I paid in MAY when I placed the order.

HOWEVER, to date they have NOT credited my Pay Pal account and have STOPPED returning my correspondence. I even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they IGNORED the BBB too. I received a letter from the BBB that, despite their efforts to contact Gotham Beauty.com, the company never got back to them.

So I paid them for items that I never received AND they kept my money. I've been scammed!!!!

SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! They will take your money and maybe you will receive your items (according to other reviews) and maybe you won't. THEY ARE HORRIFIC and should be shut down!!!!

Helpful Service, Great Offers

I've ordered quite a lot from Gotham Beauty. I agree with some of the reviews on here that at times the customer service is slow, however, when it's good, it's really good. All of my orders have shipped with free samples, are beautifully packaged and often times I am receiving my order within two to three days of the order being placed.

Ire and Lou have been the regular contacts I deal with. These girls seem to be the best staff as I receive prompt follow ups on my questions.

My only complaint is that they need to get more makeup but the skincare selection is great. Also, sign up for the email offers, it seems to be the only way they offer discounts.

He made up all those positive and perfect reviews. Don't trust the owner he is FRAUD and had previous businesses with the same complaints. He scammed all the people he worked with, from supplier to employees to customers.

I Shop Online Frequently And This Is One Of The Wo

I shop online frequently and this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. In January I ordered items from their site (www.gotham-beauty.com) and, like others commenting here have experienced, about a week later received an e-mail from them saying those items were not in stock (so why were they listed on their website?) and that my order had been canceled and I would receive a refund within 48 hours. About 3 weeks later I reviewed my bank statement to be sure I'd received the refund (I'd paid with a debit card so it was taken directly from my bank account.) - but there was no refund to be found. I e-mailed asking where my refund was and the status. Although any e-mail you send to them gives you an auto-reply promising that they'll get back to you within 24 hours, I never received any reply whatsoever, nor any refund. I was then busy and traveling out of the country and not able to deal with these people for a while. Again a month later I checked and still no refund! I wrote again. Still no reply! I called. No answer. I left a message outlining the situation and asking for a reply. No reply. It's now been 4 months, no refund, and not a single reply, not once. I'm having trouble believing this is a legitimate business. I would strongly advise against anyone else getting robbed like I did.

Yeah. They never shipped my products and charged my PayPal account. Then the wouldn't refund my money. This guys name is (name removed).

FOLLOW-UP: I did receive a refund check at long last, and the company also offered me some credit on their website by way of apology. At this point, I am satisfied with the resolution, although I cannot say it was the best online shopping experience I've ever had. I would retract the comments that they are thieves and not a legitimate business. It appears that they are, but do not have their customer service response system fully organized or in place. Hopefully they can work out the kinks.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did finally receive a reply from Gotham Beauty after posting about my experience on their Facebook page (this was still, however, after the 4 months of no reply to e-mails or calls described above). I was contacted on the Facebook page and then by e-mail and offered a refund check which I did accept in an immediate reply. Apparently my response went to their spam folder causing further delay in resolution (I have not yet received a refund check but will follow up when I do.) I do appreciate the quick and thorough response to my Facebook posting, however, I'm afraid that does not really excuse the 4 months of no reply to e-mails and calls that preceded that, which cannot be blamed on either Dr. Oz or 100% Pure. Apart from any inventory issues, there was a major customer service lapse on the part of Gotham Beauty in this case. I do appreciate the sincere attempt to make up for it, and I would be willing to give the site another chance, but this (and the other similar cases described here) might call for a review of how customer service e-mails and calls are handled. It appears that many times they are ignored, which (understandably) can give many customers the impression that this is not a legitimate business, particularly when it involves a refund.

We process approximately 4,000 customer orders per week and from time to time products may go out of stock. We notice that your order was for 100% Pure products. 100% Pure has been an incredibly popular brand in recent months, particularly after featuring on Dr Oz, in People and Whole Living magazines and now being stocked in Duane Reade and a number of other large retail chains. As such, their popularity affected delivery of inventory to our company as they were not able to keep up with demand.

We would like to apologise on their behalf as this is not the level of service you should expect.

We hope that the refund and also the compensation offered for the inconvenience will help in restoring your confidence in Gotham Beauty.

Great Products

I have ordered from this store once before and the service was OK. This time around, the service was awesome! I received my order in a pretty box, wrapped in tissue paper with a hand written note.

The website doesn't mention anything about free samples so I was surprised to find a handful of samples of products which are great.

There is a broad selection of products, a lot of them are more than I can afford, but they had what I wanted.

I've read some of the other reviews on here, I think some peoples expectations are too high. I fully read the terms and conditions on their website before I ordered and I have nothing bad to say. The service was very good, especially Chantal, she was able to confirm when I was going to get my parcel and I received it the day she promised.

I just had a comment on what you said about "expectations". Yes, I do have expectations..when a company promises you they are going to do something in a certian amount of time and weeks go by without resolution (and after numerous attempts to contact the company w/out a response), those expectations are not met. The only way I got a response from Gotham was by reporting them to the BBB, which I'm so sorry I had to do but unfortunately I was essentially being ignored by the company. Ultimately I had to dispute the charge with my bank.

Anyway, again, I'm glad you had a positive experience..and if you order from them again I hope your business with them goes well.

Bad Experience

I honestly don't know what to say about this company. I apparently purchased several items on their web site in which they no longer carry (they failed to remove the items from their site, but still had them up for purchase). About a wk and a half after my purchase they sent me an email stating my transaction had been cancelled due to "lack of inventory" and promised me a refund w/in 3 business days. A week later after not getting my refund I proceeded to send them another email to check the status of the credit..they replied and stated they would check with their billing co & get back to me in 24 hours. 5 days later and I still haven't received my credit, nor has anyone returned my email to keep me updated. Time frame: ordered on 1/25/12 and it is now 2/14/12. I will dispute w/my financial institution. I'm a patient person, but this company does not take care if their customers and they are not trusworthy. I will post this msg to various review sites.

Quite honestly this "pre written" response has added more fuel to the fire. I HAVE contacted Gotham several times regarding my refund , however, we are going on 22 days without resolution. Due to my situation and after reading the reviews below I felt prompted to contact the Better Business Bureau..as I fear this will happen to other people.

I'm normally not this aggressive but I have a big problem with those who take advantage of people..or those who do not correct their mistakes in a prompt manor. I will not email you again, however, you will defiantly hear from me, as I plan to take stronger measures to get my money back. Thanks.

Order Issues

I have yet to recieve my order. My Account was charged the next day after I made my purchase. I received an email with my order details, and that was it! I emailed them twice (since there is no phone number to call) so far and all I receive is an automated email thanking me for contacting them and indicating someone will get back with me. No one did. On the initial and only email I received it said max days for delivery would be 10 days. I am at day 11, this has been second of the worest experiences I had with ordering from a website; I have been doing all my shopping online. I am calling my Acct reps to contest the charges and I would not order from them again

Great Price On My Favorite Skincare

I am a big fan of Suki Skincare. This site has the best price I have found on this line. I received my package quickly. I just wish they would carry MORE of the products. Seems like Gotham Beauty is a small company and I like knowing that I'm not buying from some huge corporate entity.

High Quality Products + Quick Delivery!

The Gotham Beauty company has some fabulous products!

All the products are natural so when I order, I know that I'll receive good quality products, especially for skincare.

Delivery is quick, although it can come in a number of different packages. I ordered from them three times and I've never had delivery problem. The prices are cheaper compared to the other websites or stores, but now I've tried the products, I have no reason to doubt the quality.

Will continue to order at gotham-beauty.com!

Very Personnalized Service!

I ordered mostly skincare and makeup from www.gotham-beauty.com (and not www.gothambeauty.com, not sure why it is written like that) and i had quite great customer service. I am not complaining for the great deals I got! whoop whoop!

One of the products I ordered was out of stock because of the big specials they run and someone called me to advise me on a replacement and I got good tips about the products too! It is good to have a human interaction over the phone sometimes!

My delivery was quite fast considering thanksgiving period!
