I've been working with a counsellor at Borders for just over 6 weeks. She's been amazingly supportive during a very tough time in my life. It's probably not for everyone - if you'd prefer to see a counsellor face-to-face this isn't the right choice for you - but if like me privacy is important and you need something very flexible to fit around work or family, this is a good option. Just knowing my counsellor is there on the other side of the computer has really helped through some bad days. The admin team are polite and helpful too.

I signed up for online counselling because my GP had told me I would have to wait 3 - 4 months to see an NHS counsellor. I really didn't want to wait that long, I felt so bad. My counsellor at Borders was insightful and helpful, and more importantly she just listened - I didn't feel judged. I'm going through a divorce right now and sometimes it just helps to have someone there to talk to who isn't involved - my friends are lovely but I'm sure they get tired of listening to it sometimes. Definitely worthwhile and I'd recommend to anyone who is considering counselling.
