Out Of Stock
Firstly, the boxes are great, secondly the delivery time was excellent. However, I was disappointed to find that some of my order was unavailable. As the P&P is high, I would have appreciated it if they could have contacted me so I could order another style of box which they did have in stock. Having said that I would use again but will probably phone them to make sure they have the items I have ordered. Also, although it says of the delivery note that some of my items are out of stock, they have not said how they will reimburse me.
we will always try to call any customer with out of stock products as stock control is not always accurate. Unfortunately most people don't answer there mobiles when called so if we can't offer an alternative product we will always refund it in full as standard procedure set out in our terms and conditions rather than hold up a customers delivery. We have also listened to our customers requests and reduced our delivery costs to free over £35.00 subtotal.:)

Fabulous Service, Great Products.
I have been using The Great Cake Warehouse (previously Make Me A Cakey) for three years as a professional cake designer and decorator. I have shopped at many online cake supply stores, but TGCW is by far my first choice for edibles (sugarpaste, colours), consumables (cake drums, boxes) and equipment. I will only shop elsewhere if TGCW do not stock what I need.
The stock range is very good - it's everything you need - and the prices are very competitive.
Service levels are exemplary. If the team do not stock something, they will look into sourcing it for you. They are always helpful and actually act as a local networking group for cake decorators (it's a lonely business making cakes and they've introduced me to other cake decorators in my area - who are now friends).
The team at TGCW are fabulous. Just go to Facebook and see the wonderful relationship they have with them there.
Thankyou. We do try to please.:)
Watch The P & P Charges
Although The Great Cake Warehouse.co.uk has baking items at a comparable price to other online baking supply shops when you come to pay you find the quoted figure of £4.95 postage mysteriously then has 20% vat added which actually means the postage is £5.95. I personally think this is very underhand and I have never come across quoted p & p having vat added onto it on any other site, and I use a lot. The p & p quoted is always the p & p you are charged. I know its only £1 but an extra pound from every customer would be a substantial amount over the course of a year. This has been posted to enable others to make a proper comparison before deciding on which baking supplier to buy from. I emailed them saying I did not think they should do this as it is not obvious on their website and they said they are charged vat by the courier. Fair enough, but show the p & p to be £5.95 and not try to pull the wool over our eyes by saying p & p is £4.95 when this is obviously misleading. I cannot recommend any company which is not clear and transparent.
We do actually have the transcript of your conversation and have reported this matter to this review centre who removed you're original complaint once presented with all of the evidence. It was in fact yourself that was extremely abusive and rude to our member of staff. You're goods were delivered to the address that you put on you're order but unfortunately you had put the wrong address on you're order and the occupier of that premises would not let you have the goods. We did in fact send a replacement at our own cost which was signed for by a staff member at you're shop.Unfortunately you just can't help some people.:(
This was actually a problem with a newly launched range by rainbow dust and was replaced by all purchases that contacted us regarding the issue. Unfortunately we can not help manufacturing issues but we can only try to resolve them once aware.:)
I'm afraid that V.A.T. is not something we are able to change. As any business in the UK that is V.A.T. registered would know you have to show it on all goods and services and delivery charges are classed as a service with the Customs and Excise that are responsible for collecting V.A.T. We try to be as transparent as possible with our charges but i'm afraid not all companies break the V.A.T. out of there delivery charges.:)
Our couriers charge us VAT on all of our deliveries, we do not use the Post Office. We have to by law break down the VAT and this is shown on all of our invoices.
paid for item and never got it, promised a refund but was banned from the site instead, when i rang i was moaned at by the idiot on the other end who felt brave enough to act tough on the phone, AVOID AVOID AVOID, better and cheaper places on ebay. Funny thing is, i would have still used them so there loss
