Parking Fine

Don't shop often in local lidl as parking is difficult due to small car park - managed to get a space last week and spent short time shopping, and a very long time waiting at checkout. Wasn't asked for vehicle registration at checkout & so assumed that it wasn't needed. Received a parking fine of £90 this week because checkout girl hadn't logged my car details on. Have just spent 3 hours trying to get pics of receipt and appeal to their car park scheme uploaded. Pretty awful service and won't bother with going to lidl again.

Shopping Experience

I have shopped at Lidl's since your Merthyr store opened and are very satisfied with my experience in you store. I am looking forward to the new store opening in November. I still go over to the Tredegar branch for my weekly shop now, although it is a bit of a bind, but I like your range and wouldn't think of shopping anywhere else.

Second Time In

I have just got back from the new Sittingbourne store and did visit it when it first opened. Now my financial situation has changed and income reduced slightly. I consider myself a reasonably prudent person with regards to money and took my time to wander the store looking at the variety of items and prices. I only spent £14 but was impressed by what I got for that amount of money. It is now in my mind to shop there much more and make you the main supplier of my food. I like the car park arrangement too as it stops people parking there and then not shopping there so a good move. Well done

Threat Of Fine

checkout at Sittingbourne said I would be fined £90 if I did not give REg no of car-I could not remember my number and I only popped in for a few items and left-but as an elderly customer it has left me upset.I have used your stores in Austria and Germany as well as all over England and have never been told this before. If this is the case -put a notice advising customers that they must register the car with you-I find the store and food excellent but this has left a bad taste with me.

Poor Service At Checkout

This was my first visit to Amesbury, I usually call into the Andover store but today I wanted to see if there was any difference in the checkout. No no difference at all. The queues were at least 10 deep but no other assistant was called to assist in checkout. This is such poor management. I know Lidl want to keep prices down but whilst I was in Amesbury today two people walked out without purchasing their goods, people cannot be expected to wait like this. Very poor. The Andover store has just been refurbished and been given lots more check outs but guess what they only used two so what was the point in spending money on checkouts...............beats me!!!!!!!!

Scottish Rolls Arrive At Stores Fully Cooked And Frozen?

I live alone, am elderly, in poor health and go shopping only when necessary. I am very partial to the 'store baked' Scottish morning rolls of which I buy 4 or 6 at a time, using what I need on the day of purchase and freezing any others. At least I DID until recently! The last time I used a home frozen batch of rolls I found them to be "chewy', and tasting not at all like they had previously.

In store yesterday when I went to pick up some rolls I noticed moisture on the rolls and suspected they were not too long out of a freezer, instead of the expected oven. Putting my hand in a plastic bag I picked up one of the rolls only to verify what I had thought, the rolls were very cold and semi-solid.

I broached the subject with an assistant, enquiring if the rolls had been frozen after being FULLY COOKED and he said they came in that way, that they were not bakers and ALL their rolls came in frozen, further stating that frozen food should not be thawed and re-frozen. At this I politely pointed out that I was well aware of that fact, but this did NOT apply to part-baked rolls baked on the premises. These COULD be frozen without detriment, and indeed, HAD in fact been frozen by me for many years. However, I further pointed out, as with ALL frozen foods, FULLY COOKED frozen rolls could definitely NOT be thawed and re-frozen without detriment.

I then suggested that the store should place a sign on those particular rolls stating that unlike all the other bakery goods, being fully cooked and frozen upon arrival at the store, they were NOT FIT FOR FREEZING!

I personally doubt that the Scottish rolls came in fully cooked and frozen and am more inclined to believe a practice of freezing any surplus rolls to reduce 'wastage' is a more likely explanation

Poor Checkout Service

A friend recomended Lidl to me.I visited a new store in Honiton,East Devon. There was a long queue at the one checkout that was manned.People in front of me were moaning about this.A manager came out of a side door,I asked if he was going to open another checkout. He muttered to himself, then begrudgingly got a young girl to open another checkout.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT CUSTOMERS,KEEP THIS UP.I SHALL NOT BE BACK !!!!!

Good Food Good Value

I have shopped at lidl roath cardiff many times, great fruit and veg and bakery, fish is good value also the tinned ham is the best ever, wish there were a few more brands especially cereal as I have to go on to another shop for cereal. A big negative is the rush at the checkout with no room at the end, however fast you go they go faster like a race and leave you a bit stressed, we are spending money have a bit of patience.

Returned Goods - Do No Honour Warranty

took a hand held rechargeable vacuum back to branch in Weston Super. mare and was told it was out of the year warranty, but this had a 3 year warranty which came with it. it was just over a year old. assistant called manager and was told to ring this 0870 and was told LIDL do no honour the warranty as more than a year old. was told to e mail the manufacture. this I did and scanned the receipt to them. got reply from them to confirm that it was still under warranty and told to send the original receipt to Germany. was getting quite angry by this time as to why I should have to do all this and also pay for postage. so my husband rang lidl customer services (mind you it is a call centre) and was quite rudely told to send original receipt to them.

I told them I took a faulty item to their rivals Aldi which was over a year old ( but still in the two year warranty)and instantly got my money off my shop there. Citizens Advice Bureau also confirm that Lidl should have refunded me. so I would be a bit wary of buying anything in Lidl that has more than a years warranty.
