Where Did They Go - And Where Is Money?!!

I started using hotpop around 2005 (Bronze level - $9.99/yr)...today I noticed I'm still being billed through Paypal, even tho I cancelled the automatic payments around 2010. Tried to access their website, it no longer exists. Guess that is fortunate cause that way, no one else can get ripped off by these shysters....hell, you can't even sign up for it!! Yay!!!

As Below - After Sometime With Service, Account Ca

As below - after sometime with service, account can't login and setup - just get re-directed to Paypal site.

Was going to try paying for Bronze just to get in, and see if anyone was still sending e-mail to me, but read other's comments as to how they just take your payment and don't give anything in return...kudos to those who warned us...

They Always Were A Very Basic, But Rather Slow Ema

They always were a very basic, but rather slow email service. I never had any problems with spam. Nothing shiny or glitzy, but then all I wanted was my email delivered to my email program (Pegasus Mail, probably the best emailer in the world (tm)).

No access to email for ages, and the only bit of the website that still seems to work is the payments bit!! They have had their down times before, but nothing as long as this.

Write them off, gone, dead, and buried. They are an ex-email service (just like a certain parrot!)

I Stopped To Receive My Email Since April 2010. Ma

I stopped to receive my email since April 2010. Mail program gets AUTH error during connection or connection is broken by the POP3 server. On web site I can not do anything except choosing account level with monthly or annual fee. I thought the payment will help me and chose Bronze level for a month. After payment by PayPal I was redirected to the first page with levels again for choosing. So, my payments (I stupidly made it twice) have been lost.

I warn you against using this service. Avoid it. Unfortunatelly, I have a lot of registrations and subscriptions on my hotpop email address.

Thought I Would Write A Quick Update On The State

Thought I would write a quick update on the state of play with hotpop.com. It seems the free service is no more and the site is DEAD.

Users can log on to the site with their passwords but are then directed to a page offering premium services. I signed up for the bronze - the cheapest package they offer, thinking this would get me past the splash screen and give me pop3 access again, it didn't.

To date: My pop3 service remains dead, the site is practically unusable. Be warned though, the premium services page is still taking peoples money! Signing up for premium will get you NOTHING. It will not give you access to your account. Please don't waste your time & money.

In conclusion: Site and service seem abandoned. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I Used A Free Account For Many Years And Service W

I used a free account for many years and service was adequate. Without warning my "free" account stopped accepting my log in about a month ago. The website gave no information that free email was being stopped. Today the website is totally unavailable.

The paid packages did not look good value. If you want free email, look elsewhere

I Would Never Recommend This To A Friend Or Even T

i would never recommend this to a friend or even to anyone.

3 months ago i can still receive mails via outlook but

could never send mails since last year. lately, when i try

to log in on my acct on the site, i'm redirected to their

paysite. i have no other choice but to signup just

so i could retrieve my mails. well, i thought it was a smart

idea, but i was robbed with $9.99 :/

i sent an email to all email adds provided at their contact us

several times re my concern, and just like other posters

here, i never received any reply from them.

i wonder how i can request for a refund?.....

I Would Recommend This Service, If Their Server Wo

I would recommend this service, if their server would be up again. I had have this FREE email service for over five years and sometimes their server is down, but I had never a problem. About no customer service, well you get what you pay for, in this case it's a free email account with POP and SMTP service.

But anyway, this time it looks like they are out of business. I can't connect to the service since end of June 2010.

I Have A Hotpop Account And I Cannot Receive Any E

I have a hotpop account and I cannot receive any email to it. It simply does not work since a very long time ago (maybe half a year since I noticed). Support does not respond any message. Everyone should avoid this so-called email service! My adsense and many other accounts were associated with this email address, now I can't access any of them. If you are wise enough, run away from hotpop while there are many other great free pop3 email providers!

Very Poor Service, Mail Keeps Getting Lost, Smtp S

Very poor service, Mail keeps getting lost, SMTP server down for over a year. Supportdept. never responds, Sales neither. Problems are never solved other than by incident. Over all no recommendation for this "service". If you take the paid version you do get them same poor service, no support and a regular out of order provider.

Do never pay these people for their "services" because they do not deliver.
