I purchased this unit in 2012, worked great for two years, then the bearing in the drum stopped working. To replace the bearing would cost 1/2 the price I paid for the washer. You cannot just replace the bearings, the whole drum has to be replaced, a costly venture.

We got the machine in feb 2010. In sept 2010 our problems started. The door handle broke. The guarantee covered the replacement. In October 2010 the handle broke again. It was repaired. we were promised by the insurance if it broke again then the machine would be replaced. The handle broke again this week, July 2013. The insurance company have updated their computers and have no record of past repairs.

Bought this washing machine as a Curry's exclusive back in August 2012. It was relatively cheap, had a big 9kg drum, compared to my old 6kg Hoover and had a fast 1400rpm. This machine was ideal for a busy household and was just what we dreamed for. After a few months of owning it, we noticed that when spinning, it would dreadfully jump out, move side to side and bang against its casing. So, pulled it out to have a look and only to fond that one of the suspension arms had come off but luckily could be re-fitted. So far that's the only problem and seems to be pretty good so far. Well done Hotpoint! PROS: Big drum, Super silent, Easy accessible detergent drawer, Big porthole, Fast wash programme for lightly soiled items, Child lock. CONS: Programmes take far too long, Digital timer is in-accurate, Drum speed during a wash is pretty slow, Balancing system is useless, No timesaver, meaning you either have to put up with long washes or a fast wash, Options aren't particularly useful. All in all, a fairly decent washer.
Going by most reviews, the Hotpoint WMF940P washing machine is definitely on top of its game. Most owners agreed that the ease of use and the large 9kg drum which significantly cuts down the number of washes are among the most remarkable features of this device. From its exquisite looks, to the low operative noise together with the1400rpm high-speed spinning, consumers at Reevo are simply in love this product. Another very useful feature is the child lock button as noted by a consumer at Wikio who is greatly pleased with this item. The machine has also been considered extremely efficient in terms of energy and water consumption.
Although, most users had no downbeat comments about the Hotpoint WMF940P washing machine, a handful mentioned certain issues with the wash cycle. Owners at reevo faulted the fact that once started, the cycle cannot be stopped. Apparently, there is no provision for including omitted items or reducing the load until the cycle comes to an end; a process that another consumer at Comet complained of being too long.
The undisputable highest point of this machine as indicated by all the consumers who gladly recommend the product is the ease of use. Still, some owners who bear slight grudges will definitely prefer an adjustable and shorter cycle time.
Having said all that, this product unquestionably offers great value for its money. Keeping in mind that its primary purpose is to handle household laundry as conveniently as possible, it sure gets the job done effectively without any hiccups. It?s big, it?s fast plus- it looks absolutely fabulous. What more could anyone want from a washing machine? With an overall rating of 9 out of 10 at Reevo, the makers of the Hotpoint WMF940P washing machine appears to have gotten it all right.
