“Only lasted 3 years!”

Bought this machine in January 2012 because of its large capacity and variable spin speeds. However, if you don't want it to wash for hours then you have to put up with a spin speed of 800 which generally means you need to spin again! And whenever you spin its the noisiest washing machine ever and it jumps around the room leaving black marks from the feet all over the floor. Have had to replace the bushes twice, which I did myself as the labour cost was ridiculous so not worth having a 5 year guarantee. It has now gone bang (literally) altogether after only 3 years!! Will not be buying another Hoover.

“Good Riddance - Hoover WMH168D Washing Machine”

This machine - the Hoover WMH168D - washed pretty well and had some good features - I particularly liked the Quick Wash 29 minute programme. However, it danced around the utility room from day one. It didn't matter how evenly you thought you'd loaded it, it moved. And it moved alarmingly far when on a full load on a long wash. I knew the day would come when it would work itself off of its springs and sure enough yesterday was the day. I only wish that i had reviewed the machine before I bought it but unfortunately was swayed by the Curry's salesman who talked me into it. I was going to replace my old Bosch with another one but the huge discount on this Hoover coloured my judgement. And how I have regretted it ever since. Yesterday the noise was horrendous and as the springs popped so the drum almost burst through the casing. Well, RIP washing machine - you will be collected by the lovely John Lewis people next week when they bring me my new Bosch. And yes, I have researched it. Which recommends and it is no. 2 on their list. Sadly I cannot stretch to the cost of a Miele but I have had Bosch before and can't wait to welcome a Bosch washing machine back into my life. From what I have read of all the other sad reviews on here about the Hoover WMH168D, I was not alone with my dancing machine. By the way, I only had it for 3 years which is a ridiculously short time.

“Can't believe it's made by Hoover ”

I only wish I had read the other reviews before I bought my hover washing machine . An optima wmh168d. It is the noisiest machine I have ever had . It is so noisy it wakes me up if I run it during the night. It makes strange banging noises which the engineer said was caused by the. Machine arranging the load. I bought Hoover for its name but would never do it again my new machine is worse than the old one it replaced .my machine also dances across the floor as described in the other reveiw.

“Dancing washing machine”

I bought this machine because of the name,spin speed and the "quality" historically of the Hoover brand. How wrong I was! The machine does wash well and spins very well, BUT it "dances" around so much. The drum does not seem to be damped at all and bashes around inside the casing as the drum starts up and gets to speed. When it reaches full speed the whole machine moves around so much it ends up moving out of it's location and across the floor! It does that whether it is fully loaded or has a part load. I am fully expecting it to pull the waste hose out and flood the floor. I don't leave the machine running when I go out. At full spin it is by far the loudest machine I have ever owned.
