I Used To Love American Adventure When All The Rea

I used to love American Adventure when all the really good rides were there like the log flume (which was the biggest i'd ever seen in my life), and when it used to be really american styled, with the can-can girls an cowboy shows. But then everyone who worked there seemed more and more like they couldn't be bothered. (Also they moved the entrance from the alton towers styled way, to prison gates at the bottom of a car park).

Due To A Series Of Misguided Ventures This Theme P

Due to a series of misguided ventures this theme park is now closed. A pity really, because it provided seasonal employment and good family fun in its heyday.

We Visited The American Adventure Theme Park As A

We visited the American Adventure theme park as a party of 3; 2 adults and our son aged 6.

From the point of view of our son the park offered a variety of rides, and there were only 3 rides our 6 year old couldn't actually go on due to him being too small, so he thoroughly enjoyed his day out.

From an adults point of view, the fact there were so many rides for our son is a good point. The admission fee is reasonable (search the internet as you can get your kids in for free with vouchers) compared to some other theme parks. The staff are friendly and helpful, which is another good point.

Now the bad stuff... The park is looking tired and in need of sprucing up. A lot of shops cafes were closed, which restricts your choice for lunch if you decide not to take your own food. In fact, in the New Orleans mall area nothing was open! A few rides were closed due to faults, and they didn't open all day whilst we were there.

If your children are over 12, I would suggest that American Adventure wouldn't be for them, as the park hasn't got an abundance of white knuckle rides, so they would possibly get bored quite quickly.

Would I visit again? My son would say "yes", and he's the one that matters, but if it was left to me, I wouldn't.

American Adventure - A Lot Of Rides For The Childr

American Adventure - A lot of rides for the children and as not many people were there there was no queing. The place is quite run down. But the staff ruined the day, we had travelled 200 miles on a weekend trip and been to Gullivers the previous day were the staff were friendly and helpful, here 10 miles down the road the staff made no effort to make the day enjoyable for customers and had a terrible attitude. We participated in the treasure hunt and were sent on wild goose chases from one end of the park to the other as the staff didn't have a clue were the treasure was located, in the end my children were close to tears. Usually people are waiting at the gates when you leave to ask if you've had a nice day, I was looking forward to telling them how awful our day had been, but typically of the staff, no one cared enough to do this.

Our Day Out At The American Adventure Theme Park W

Our day out at the American Adventure theme park was a very disappointing day out, even after using vouchers to get in with (hence there are so many vouchers circulating because they are having to drum up custom). American Adventure use to be a theme park that suited all ages; young and old people used to come away wanting more, but it is not the case anymore. If after reading these reviews you still go, you will wish you had taken notice of this website. Go to Flamingo Land instead!

I Went To American Adventure Yesterday With My Sch

I went to American Adventure yesterday with my school, and I was pleasantly surprised. I was told that all of the rides had been shut down, but the 2 best rides are still there (the Twin Loop and Water Rapids), but the rest of the rides were pathetic. I wanted to go on the Pirate Ship, but I was told I was too heavy, and I queued for almost 45 minutes to go on the £15 bungee with 2 of my mates, but when I got there, I found out the price had gone up for the day and was now £25. All I can say is I was gutted, and to top that off, myself and my friend queued for a Pedalo for ages, but when it was our turn she was told she was too heavy and that it was a risk the pedalo would sink. She was distraught, as they made her out to sound massive, when she is actually only 9 and a half stone and a size 12. My trip to American Adventure was appalling as I spent nearly £10 on my dinner and an ice-cream, and exactly £20 on large drinks alone. I bought a SMALL milkshake, and to be frank, it tasted awful. There was no flavour in it.

I loved the Twin Loop. I went on the Octopus, dodgems and water rapids. They were the only rides I went on, and I spent nearly 1 hour and 40 minutes straight on the coaster, but after I physically could not take any more I had to sit in the New Orleans mall for 20 minutes as my head was banging.

I would return if the souvenirs were cheaper, and if the Log Flume and Missile came back.

I have one tip for American Adventure... Get over the idea of having a kiddies park, as I heard kids in the park moaning about not going on any "proper rides". I think you should close the park down for a couple of months and get a construction team in, and seriously consider what kind of age group would be willing to spend money there, because right now you are probably losing more money than you're bringing in by trying to make it a kids park.

Even On A Warm Summer Sunday It Was Quiet At The A

Even on a warm summer Sunday it was quiet at the American Adventure theme park, so we didn't have to queue for anything, and the kids could go on rides as many times as they wanted. The range of activities was very wide and varied, from the Roller-coasters and water splash rides to the JCB driving and the Rodeo show, with lots of things we could all do together as a family. The park is well laid out and easy to get around. Lots of Parking close to the park entrance as well. In a full day we didn't get to see or do at least half the things that were there. A great day out for the kids.

I Have A New Name For The American Adventure Theme

I have a new name for the AMERICAN ADVENTURE theme park - from hence forth I will be calling it the American MISS-adventure. Don't wast your time or money going here. It is really not worth going. It was once a really good place to go and visit, now it's awful.

Even A Sunny Day At The American Adventure Theme P

Even a sunny day at the American Adventure theme park couldn't cheer me up. The staff were unhelpful. The food was revolting, and after half an hour, me and my family left. Where were all the rides I loved, such as the Log Flume, Missile, and even the go karts? Destroyed! To make way for children's rides. To make matters worse I still got charged £15 for a miserable day. Nothing can help American Adventure now, as it's dug itself into a hole that it will never get out of. Take a tip from Alton Towers and don't destroy the rides. Build on and make it family fun, instead of it being aimed at just one age group.
