If You Really Want To Check For A Good Quality Pla
If you really want to check for a good quality player watch the introduction of the movie 'Gladiator'on subtitles for noises and picture quality. I tested lots of DVD's on this scene and the Pioneer dvd646 really gave me the full satisfaction.
Plays everything I've thrown at it barring DVD+R.

Picture is superb. DTS sounds phenomenal.
DVD Audio sounds fantastic.
Wish I'd have waited for the 656 to get SACD. :(
Some review of the sound for SACD and DVD-A would be good for this player. Also is it the American 656, which differs in specification quite widely?
