“Absolutely shocking”

Absolute shocking, I rang up asking about an engine on a car I wanted to buy I was told the engine was fine and there was no issues, so I went on to purchase the car however upon arrival it turns out there was a whopping hole in the sump and the stupid incompetent yard lads have ran it to temperature with absolutely no oil in it this killing the crankshaft and block !!!!! I’m now faced with a dead engine and a 3k bill if I want to repair it I was offered to return the car which meant I would be near £600 out of pocket, there attitude well wasn’t interested it seemed so thanks Charles Trent just what I wanted left with a car that is going to end up in the crusher after spending 3k purchasing it. And as they also said you could see in the picture fluid on the floor, that could have been anything from coolant to power steering fluid when your told the engine is fine you expect it to be fine. BEWARE WHEN BUYING FROM CHARLES TRENT YOU WILL LITERALLY GET A SCRAP CAR NOT A REPAIRABLE ONE shocking

“Charles Trent Poole - Lack of customer service”

Went to Trent Poole on 19/02/2022, to have the wheel alignment done. I asked how much it was going to cost for front and rear alignment, and the girl behind the counter told me it was going to cost £60. All good. Technician came and moved the car in the workshop, and returned 20-25 minutes later, handed her the key and some paperwork and I went to her desk to pay. She said that the rear alignment couldn't be done due to seized bolt. Had no problem with that as obviously it is not a new car, therefore it may happen. I asked her what were my options to get it sorted and she replied on a irate voice " I don't know, you'll have to see a mechanic". She then pushed the bank card reader and said... "60". I tried to explain to her it was not fair to pay for something that was not done and I would like to pay for what was done, front alignment only. She then replied "I told you it was going to cost £60". Long story short, I asked to see a supervisor or manager and she initially refused justifying her decision "they wouldn't be able to help, and they will agree with her". Her colleague, who was next to her desk, agreed with me, saying that it was only fair to pay for front alignment only. Even more aggressive now, she called for a manager, who of course agreed with me and asked her to charge me £35 for front alignment only. Her only reaction was "OK". Pushed again the bank card reader, this time saying "£35". Paid the £35 and asked her to apologise, but she refused on a raised voice. Charles Trent...how do you employ such staff?

“Make you run around for parts they dont have.”

Make you run around for parts they dont have. Traveled 100 miles to collect. Told they have sent to differnt location. A week later Told they never had the part, A week later recived a refund. Poor

“Worst service ever ”

Can’t follow arrangements. Rude and unhelpful customer service. No way to give complaint to company. Nothing offered to compensate for their mistakes.

“Sold me a broken gearbox”

I bought a gearbox from Charles Trent for my Subaru Impreza. it was more expensive than others but they offered a 3 Mth warranty and said it had been checked and in working order so I bought it. I had the box delivered to my local Honda dealer to await installation. Once in they found the box was faulty and needed rebuilding. Charles Trent weren't very helpful and have basically said tough. they shouldn't of sold the box to me in that condition. Don't trust them. they'll just send you scrap!!!!!

“FAILING THEIR ONLINE CUSTOMERS”

i have spent many years repairing salvage and bought a few from charles trent. you would think after all this time they would clean up their act but no it gets worse. when you buy you can always expect a bit more damage than you see online . but i was taken a back with my latest purchase from them . a 63 reg 10k miles CATD. no airbag damage listed as frontal damage did not look bad in pictures but when it was delivered the engine had been ripped of its mountings and was in the bulkhead causing serious external and internal damage to the engine. the dashboard was broken .the passenger side doors and sill along with floor and fuel tank had forklift damage. along with the usual toolkit ect thats usually nicked. all they had to do was say engine damage and highlight with photo after all some tell you engine dont start but turns over. you let me know it had aircon and alloy wheels also.funny how their photos just miss the damage at times. complain? waste of time. i think i will give them a miss in the future
