I have this hoover and love it far more than the dyson we used to have. I have just had the popping up problem with the filter....so i dug out the instruction manual and read it. So, this black box is a carbon filled active air clean filter and has a life of about a year. And a year old my vacuum is!! So i rang the hoover repair shop locally, asked if they had one ro fit, picked it up and put it in. Voila!!! All back to normal. Such a powerful hoover. Does a better job than my dyson ever did. I can't believe people are hoovering with their foot on the hoover to hold it down.....buy a new filter!!!!! Not really fair for the hoover ro be judged incorrectly because people aren't reading it's manual!!!

If you read the other reviews carefully, you would know that people have replaced the HEPA filters several times and they keep popping out. That's why they have to put their foot on the case - to hold the filter in because nothing else works. I give your Miele three months before the filter starts popping out... then I'm sure you'll be back on here moaning about it.

Oh please….. don't you think other users have tried replacing the filter and reading the manual? I replaced the 6 month old filter (from a 6 month old machine) with a new replacement TODAY and within five minutes it was popping out again… totally useless.
