So purchased insurance as relative ill in Canada. Provided death certificate as asked. They refused the claim. I argued they agreed to honour but now want deceased's medical details as if she was on medication or terminally ill insurance does not cover it. She was 84 for gods sake of course she would have been on medication. Aunt died 12 hours after we booked flight so could not go. WASTE OF TIME BUYING THE INSURANCE.

This group of companies offers cheap insurance products. In the event you need to make a claim, you will realise the error of your ways. There is no streamlined process, forms to fill in that are mostly not relevant to the nature of your claim, and months of delays and misery to follow. Best advice is to avoid, or contact the finance ombudsman on day 1. You will be needing their help.

I would not recommend anyone to take out insurance with this company as they are a complete and utter waste of time. Sent in a claim end of july 2016 had nothing but being pushed from pillar to post with all departments. Even head in charge never replies to emails. Got letter through this morning saying they are not paying the American hospital bill. After all this time Ive to pay it myself and it could have been paid on day one if they just told me the truth. The people in America who my daughter was staying with have been getting threatening letters from hospital. This could have been avoided had the dealt with claim properly in the first place. And the one star I've had to give would have been a zero score. Avoid at all costs.

Rejected my claim because I 'didn't take reasonable care of my property'. Complete joke of an underwriter. Do not use! And therefore do no use Columbus direct!

Incompetent staff: claims and complaints department. Bullying and intimidating tactics to frustrate claimants .repeated questions and too many people handling one claim. Staff want claimant's bank account details although policy contract wants only receipts. Very careless and asking irrelevant questions repeatedly although the staff has all the required documents to assess the claim. Lost luggage on holiday last year still waiting. ..for claim to be assessed. .asking for more information not even related to the claim Threatening and bullying tactics. May have to write to the CEO regarding staff treatment of claimants who the company took money from with a promise of security and help whilst travelling abroad! !!! Don't buy intana insurance

Husband sustained life threatening injury in work two days prior to flying to palma nova. Put a claim for the cost of holiday as we were unable to go. 8months on we still have not had any money refunded. Intana do not reply to our emails and there's no phone number to contact them. I'm infuriated with the way we've been treated. We paid our holiday insurance in good faith with the comfort of knowing that we'd be covered for any mishaps. I forwarded all the documents that they requested along with hospital report, medical certificates and a letter from my GP. I purchased the insurance via a link on ryanair web site. I strongly feel that Ryanair should remove intanas link as it gives a false sense of security. Warning do not!! Get holiday insurance with Intana!!
