We travelled to Spain and when our travel companion and best friend's father took a stroke and the died we all had to come home. Not only due to the fact of what had happened and we all couldn't stay, but also for logistical reasons. Car at airport and 3 hour drive home etc. When we returned home AXA refused to compensate us all for the change of flight costs. They said that they could only refund two of us instead of the four of us due to the company wording. The man who died was not a relation to us all, only two of us.
We had paid for their most expensive single insurance cover, but they told us if we had read there policy wording it says cover for death is only for relatives. I'm sure this is my fault, but AXA insurance does not seem to be any good for groups travelling with more than 2 people.
