“Disgraceful service over the nearly 6 months it took...”

I had a very traumatic trip back to Manchester from gdansk.The plane was diverted to Denmark when I collapsed on board. After initial contact with all clear to confirm medical cover, it was impossible to find out correct information and I was passed from pillar to post by their customer services. At that critical time i was desperately in need of support and assistance. I didn't get any! I had to get used to them taking 3 weeks to respond to every single point if enquiry. At various stages. They denied liability, then refused to pay hospital bill, then quibbled over every single point of my claim. Finally not paying an important section of my expenses. It simply didn't occur to me that I could have problems. Beware Allclear !!! What a set of Unprofessionals !! Never Again. I will always check feedback in future. However further digging is needed because there is little feedback from people who have made a claim !! Beware Allclear. !!

“Excessive increase - misleading claim”

Last year, acting after scrutinising offers from several travel insurance companies recommended by Which Travel, I took an annual policy covering both of my wife and I with AllClear Travel Insurance. We recently received an invitation by email to renew the policy indicating that the basic charge had increased by 62%. There has been no change in our circumstances other than an increase in age and there was no attempt to justify such a huge increase. We were offered a so called ‘exclusive loyalty discount’ of 20%. However, we had already received, by surface mail, a speculative invitation to take insurance with AllClear Travel, which offered a 20% discount to ALL new policy holders. On checking, the basic price for new policy holders (before the 20% discount) was identical to the basic pre-discount price that underpinned the renewal offered to us. The offer of a ‘loyalty’ discount was, to say the least, disingenuous. We understand that, in at least some sectors of the insurance industry, similar marketing ploys have been declared illegal. By searching around, I found and accepted an offer of more appropriate cover than AllClear Travel offered but for which the premium was slightly less that we paid AllClear Travel last year. It was from a supplier which also offered a further cashback discount of nearly 20% for all business (not just for new business). We cannot help but form the impression from the excessive increase and misleading claim about a discount that AllClear Travel is attempting to trade on out of date recommendations. Age discrimination appears to be rife in the travel industry. The travel insurance companies have never produced factual evidence to justify their claims that the higher rates they charge are statistically sound and are not simply a mechanism for increasing profits at the expense of older people.

“good at selling policies not so much when you need help”

This Gibralter based company sell cheap travel insurance, cheap for a reason. they have virtually no support staff, need a claim or and other kind of help then forget it? Pay more or you may as welll save your money and have no insurance, its the same thing.

Been with them for years and they were very good at paying my Dr fees when I was ill last year. So no hesitance in booking again, BUT not such a good experience in getting insurance this year. Bought a policy and straight away when it arrived by email I noticed I had made a mistake on my husband’s date of birth by just one year. They wanted over £50 to change it, so I cancelled as I felt this was unfair. I then got a letter and email giving me 20% off if I took out another travel policy so I thought that’s fantastic, but when I asked for my new quote it had gone up by £200 and no place to deduct the 20% they offered me. So not happy with them this time and looking elsewhere

“£15 to change policy dates.”

I wanted to change my travel dates for insurance. They wanted £15 just to do this simple task. That's more than what my policy cost. Ridiculous!

We apply an administration fee for any amendment made outside the cooling off period as a contribution to the running costs of our business. We are also very transparent in our charges which are documented in our Terms of Business letter sent to customers with our policy documentation and which you signed up to when you took out the contract with us.

“Covid 19”

I book a flight with tui they cancelled it and I had booked apartment with holiday letting which we couldn't go to because flight was cancelled and the insurance don't want to no told me to get a refund of my credit card.credit card company told me to get it of my travel insurance what a cope out.

“READ THE SMALL PRINT!”

I booked a short trip to Malta and booked travel insurance through All Clear. They acted as agents for OK to Travel and I felt assured that everything was sorted. When reading the policy document it stated that I was covered in Area 2, which excludes coverage in Malta!!?? As I was travelling to Malta and this was clearly stated on the booking, I contacted All Clear and spoke to someone to question this. She could not explain why it happened but said I could be upgraded for a fee of €37 to have cover in Malta. I explained that I was unwilling to do that because as far as I was concerned it was their mistake. She told me I could cancel the policy as it was within the 'cooling off period'. My worry is that had I not checked the policy and needed assistance while abroad I would have been left high and dry because Malta is not covered in my booking. Needless to say that I have cancelled and requested a refund. Very angry and frustrated!

“Next to impossible to recover a claim...”

I would absolutely avoid 'All Clear' travel insurance. They use a third party company to negotiate their claims who do all they can to pay you nothing. We made a claim after my wife was mugged on holiday and managed to recover almost nothing. If you don't have the original receipts for everything then you will get nothing. On there advertising they say 100% of claims paid in 5 days ....  our claim spanned over 6 months. You are much better using one of the more well known insurance companies as that way you have some chance of recovering a claim

“AllClear is Really All Clear”

A pretty straight forward website with very clear instructions on how to proceed. The policy choices and requirements are clearly laid out and straight forward to select. It was easy to compare with the details from other sites as the information was presented is a very similar format and order. Although slightly more expensive the cover quoted was of a realistic level for the number of existing medical conditions relevant to both travellers. It will be interesting to see how much the premium increases year on year.

I had been searching for an insurance quote that reflected my circumstances in the most economical way and this website was easily the best around. Ease of use is essential for me as I am not particularly computer literate being of a certain age. There was plenty of variety and the prices were incredibly competitive. A very good price for a good policy was easy to arrange cover online. Has everything we wanted for a travel insurance because we needed an insurance for a whole month to Australia . Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good and affordable travel insurance. A very quick and easy to use website. Simple questions and to the point. All very black & white. Enter name, age, destination and any existing medical conditions and your travel insurance quotes are generated. Choose the one that fits you and your budget and whether you want it email only or email & post. I chose the email only option (green planet fan). There wasn't a thing I didn't like about the whole "getting a quote process" of course no one likes to spend their hard earned money but their was a range of prices to choose from, so that you can stay within your budget. Many thanks will definitely use all Clear again.

“Never again will I use All Clear Travel Insurance”

I booked the travel insurance as I have gallstones and after nine years of them not bothering me I had an attack. When I took out the insurance to cover my gallstones I had to put I wasn't waiting for a op. when I finally went back to the hospital they then put me on a waiting list. I rang to inform them and the insurance went up from £99 and they were asking for another £197 plus £15 amendment fee. I decided that I didn't want the gallstones covered but it was still £99. I had already cancelled a insurance that didn't include the gallstones for £66 with another company.If I get an attack I will go to the local hospital with my ehic. My consultant has already told me that I'm unlikely to have another attack so soon after the last one, after all it was 9 years between attacks. Don't use this company there are a lot better ones around.Con Artist springs to mind

The same response every time from All Clear to any complaints. It doesn't instill any confidence in anyone - like us - who are looking for travel insurance. All we see is All Clear trying to fob people off with 'contact us again' That shouldn't be necessary - matters should ve dealt with correctly in the first place then there wouldn't be cause for poor reviews.

“Fast sales process SLOW claims process”

Summary of medical cover shows 10 Million - small print 28-30 pages shows needs to be approved in public hospital - took 10 days to get confirmation they had received claim forms and then would take 10 - 15 days to assess - helpline unhelpful no assistance offered with medical emergency - given that the patient couldn't walk and was taken to the hospital on a stretcher combined with language difficulties in the hospital where we were - I wouldn't use them again.

Another complaint we read about All Clear - someone almost lost their leg waiting for clearance for an 'op' and they never recovered the £4000 it cost them to pay themselves because they never got clearance.

Comment on the response from All Clear! Every time a poor review is given they follow up with the same response. "Please contact us so we can review this matter". They should be able to trace these cases unless they are so overwhelmed with complaints that they don't know where to look. If the poor reviews are few and far between they should be easy to trace. I am so suspicious of this company as they give the same response every time to a poor review.
Reviews are good for taking out the insurance - it is the outcome when you have to claim that counts!

These people are a part of Reactive Claims. I have been trying to sort a simple claim regarding mugging on my wife whilst abroad. 5 months later and still trying to sort....hopeless. Avoid this conpany

On trustpilot they have 5 stars. Dreadful that they can get away with this. No-one on trustpilot seems to be complaining. I tried to direct people on there to read these reviews but my post got took down because All Clkear complained!

We took out travel insurance with all clear for a weekend coach trip to Jersey via ferry. It was for a line dance weekend. Due to Coronavirus it was postponed. I asked if I could transfer insurance to a later date, but apparently you can only do this if you travel in the next 3 months. This virus is not going to clear up by then so its no good to us. I was offered 50% of my money back I had paid £67.69 & was told if I booked again by the end of the year we could have a discount of 30% I had no choice but accept. Afterwards I thought hang on I had 20% discount on this insurance when I took it out, so only getting 10% off next trip. When I asked my fellow travelers about there insurance they all got full refunds from their insurers. Why did I not get the same from All Clear?

My partner and I were insured with All Clear for a holiday we were going to go on yesterday, however we got to the airport and my partner had a big anxiety attack so we could not go. His pre existing medical condition includes anxiety which hes taking medication for. How easy will this be to claim for if he receives a medical certificate from his doctors?
