After being advised to book our first cruise through an agent we went with Cruis 118. Unfortunately, when it came to contacting them regarding a price change they took an age to get back to us with the answer no the price couldnt be changed (there was a £300 difference). If they had responded in a reasonable amount of time we could have cancelled with them and went direct and still saving. Will not be doing again, book it yourself and take control.

I rang Cruise 118 to obtain a quote for sailing on the new RCI Harmony of the Seas in June 2016 for my husband and myself. I spoke to Katey Webb who was absolutely amazing. She has the patience of a saint, is extremely helpful and knowledgable. Our initial request for sea view balcony cabin was too expensive for our budget. Katey guided us to balcony cabins overlooking either boardwalk or Central Park. After looking at the available cabins in great detail we eventually made our choice. Katey was so patient and helpful, speaking to both myself and my husband with the choices, difficult because the ship is almost fully booked. Thank you Katey and Cruise 118. We are now very excited and looking forwards to our cruise

The advisor at Cruise 118 was extremely helpful and gave me the advice I needed for a first cruise. So much better to speak to someone and he was happy to answer any questions no matter how trivial. He was friendly and helpful and explained everything clearly. A good deal and offers available. He assured me I can call him any time if he is available if I have any more questions. For our Ruby anniversary we wanted to see the Hawaiian islands and had spotted 118cruise advert for the 7 night cruise from Honolulu.

We emailed them. We wanted a couple of days pre-cruise in Honolulu to recover from flights and to see more of Oahu. We received a response very quickly. (I should point out at this point that we also emailed 4 other cruise providers with our request for something a bit tailor-made and none have come up with anything!)

We have had numerous discussions about possibilities on flights, numbers of nights, best deals and now have 5 nights stay pre-cruise plus have even added 4 extra nights on the way back in New York. We've ended up with what promises to be a holiday of a lifetime at a price less than we expected. We could never have achieved this without the 118cruise team.

I enquired initially about a Caribbean cruise for this winter which we normally do every year. We have done numerous cruises over the years at this time with various different companies which means we have experienced most of the ports of call around the Caribbean. We spoke with Robin when we called, who we have to say made the whole process so much easier than previous bookings. He listened to all of our requirements and took a real interest in what we have done in the past which made a real difference. We ended up booking a Hawaii cruise they have on offer at the moment which worked out cheaper per person than we normally pay for the Caribbean believe it or not. It was something we hadn't even considered before because we assumed it was out of our price range so we are ecstatic and now counting down the days until we go.

There was one slight gripe, the fact they charge 2% on credit card payments, but i've since done some research and it seems to be typical of most travel companies in this day and age. It was only on the deposit anyway so not the end of the world, and they did say that there is no charge for debit cards so at least they give an option. We get free travel insurance through our credit which works out cheaper than the 2% so its swings and roundabouts i suppose.

All in all it has probably been the most informed and efficient cruise booking to date, i think some of the larger companies could learn alot from the way 118 Cruise do business and realize that its not all about the best price but also that good service goes a long way.
