Shocked

The hotel smells new and the beds are very comfortable. Sharon who works at the front desk and Sharon who works during breakfast, along with the new woman that started before we left (sorry forget your name) was kind and very helpful. When we first arrived I wanted to take a shower, but there was pubic hair in the tub. I did bring it to someone's attention and it was cleaned right away. We were offered a new room, which we did not take, but we should have. Then my daughter swam in the pool on Saturday and Sunday, actually it is not really a pool only ten people can swim at a time and the pool is 4ft deep. Anyway, the pool was dirty so I waited to say something on Monday and Sharon investigated. She found out that the person that takes care of the pool was not working on those two days so the pool was not vacuumed. Then my husband, my daughter, my son and I went to visit my father-in-law and my husband's stepmother when we came back our room was not cleaned. I found out later that someone put do not disturb signs on some of the doors on the second floor. These issues were not the worst part of our trip; the worst part was being blamed for stealing a screen the day before we left. On the third day, which was our last day full day, the general manager Melissa Smith made her daily rounds around the building and saw that our window was opened further then it should have been. There was nothing in the window to stop it from passing a certain point also the screen was missing. The window was like this when we got there, I was tired of complaining, and we were not in the room a lot so I did not bring it to the attention of the front desk. Melissa called our room saying we stole the screen and we were going to pay for it. My husband went downstairs to talk to her and she told my husband she is not going to argue with him and walked away. After this, I called customer service and I stayed on the phone as he called Melissa and she told him that she was not lifting the $50 fee for breaking the window. By the way, this hotel puts money on hold during your stay for incidental fees customer service told me that all Marriot hotels do this. Next, I called the Marriot desk and spoke with Sarah, she said that she was going to call Melissa and she would call me back. Melissa told Sarah that she saw several people smoking outside our window, that was why the screen was gone and Melissa will waive the $250.00 smoking fee. First, we do not smoke and how can that be if she just saw it that morning and I called customer service within the hour of the incident and she mentioned none of this to customer service. Also, why didn’t Melissa Smith say something to us about smoking before her daily rounds? My husband also called the State Troopers and a State Trooper that answered the phone told my husband that the hotel cannot charge you if they have no evidence. In addition, he went on and said that they had no reports of a stolen screen. If you stay at this hotel complain about everything so you are not blamed or charged.
