When We Arrived At The Ayderia Hotel We Were Very

When we arrived at the Ayderia Hotel we were very disappointed as we got there to find a disgusting shower with brown, old water all around it. We had a television with two wires hanging out of it where the plug should be, the fridge was the smallest and dirtiest thing and it didn't work. When I went to order a drink, the waiter behind the bar just stared at me, which was really embarrassing. We were constantly followed around by the hotels Turkish bath massage guy. We had a constant stray black cat hanging around when we were eating our lunch, it is by far the worst hotel I've experienced, don't go there if you want a good time.

The Ayderia Hotel In Marmaris Is The Type Of Place

The Ayderia Hotel in Marmaris is the type of place I would stay if I were with mates going out all the time and just using the place for a bed. I was with a child, and it was boring for her at the hotel at night time, as there was nothing to do! The room was basic but clean, and the pool was OK, but there were not enough umbrellas. There was a garden area to sunbathe in, and this is OK if you like the smell of cat poo!!! The food was the same all week and not very nice. I lived off watermelon and salad whilst I was there. Loads of people complained about the food. The bar shut bang on 11pm, and there were power cuts too. Trying to eat your dinner in the dark is not a good idea!

The good things were we had lots of day trips out, and we met some nice people. The weather was fantastic too!

The Area Around The Ayderia Hotel In Marmaris Is V

The area around the Ayderia Hotel in marmaris is very beautiful. The beach is amazing, and the weather was great. The hotel was the only bad point. If you love clubbing, drinking and sitting in the sun, this is the place for you. Every shop sells the same fake designer wear. It is not the best place for shopping for Turkish goods.

Me And A Friend Went On Holiday Together For The F

Me and a friend went on holiday together for the first time without family with us, and we were really looking forward to it, but to be honest, the only thing that was really disappointing was the food in the Ayderia Hotel in Marmaris. It was awful! I don't think I had a proper meal in the whole week we were there.

There is also a village tour which was a great experience , when I just went. I am planning on going back to the Ayderia Hotel, as it still has a lot to offer all age ranges.

We Have Just Returned From A Fantastic Week In The

We have just returned from a fantastic week in the Ayderia Hotel situated in Marmaris, Turkey. On first impressions we thought we had done a bad thing (we did arrive in the early hours), but the next morning we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and they were so helpful.

There was an excellent variety of food, from a choice of two hot dishes served with chips, rice or pasta etc, a lovely variety of salads and a wide choice of desserts. This is not the right hotel for fussy, none adventurous eaters. The hotel is family run and serves typical Turkish food with very few English dishes (well we were in Turkey). If you want English food then go to Blackpool. The choices of drinks were local beer, Vodka, Raki, Gin and soft drinks from Cola, Lemonade, Orangeade, Lime juice and tea and coffee.

Ignore all the bad reviews as this is a really nice hotel, but the bedrooms were basic (ideal for a base, to explore the area). If you want to stay at the hotel for your entire stay then you may become a little bored. The hotel is closely situated to the beach, town, restaurants and clubs.

We Read The Reviews And I Can Say In All Truthfuln

We read the reviews and I can say in all truthfulness I have never looked less forward to a holiday in all my life.It was our first visit to Turkey and I would willingly have swapped it for a week in Blackpool prior to us going.

How wrong can you be,our fears were groundless.Arriving after Midnight, only about an hours run from the airport,we were greeted by the night porter who couldn't do enough. Our room wasn't the biggest in the world and the balcony door was a bit iffy but we were told it was only for the night (room 319).The following morning the housekeeper told me at breakfast she would sort us out a room and at 11-00 she showed us 3 others to take our choice of,all with sea views she was great as was the maid who kept our room spotless, and what a surprise on day 3 to find flowers on our clean towels ,lovely gesture. The food was good though, not a great variety but there was never a day when we couldnt eat and enjoy something on offer,OK i admit I'm not the greatest lover of continental breakfast and I ate most breakfasts out but whats 5TL (approx £2-00)

We were on all-inclusive tariff and there was never any shortage of drinks or local spirits, imported spirits a bit pricey as they seemed to be wherever you went. Please note if you take children there are no free ice-creams you have to pay nor is there a kids club.

All in all for what we paid a really good week and no hesitation to recommend Hotel Ayderia, this is a family owned and run budget hotel which doesn't pretend to be anything else, most enjoyable week in which we made loads of new friends and not all English. If you are prepared to mix you'll have a great time, dont forget the massage and barbers either!

Just Came Back From The Ayderia Hotel. Had A Fant

Just came back from the Ayderia hotel. Had a fantastic time, the hotel was very clean and the staff were very help full, I was bit dubious at first based on the reviews that I had read on this site, but my husband said to me " what do you expect for the price we paid The RitZ" so we decided to go ahead. I am so glad that we did, I would recomend this hotel with my hand on my heart. It is execptional value for money.

Marmaris, Ayderia Hotel - I Should Have Took More

Marmaris, Ayderia Hotel - I should have took more notice of the reviews on this website before I went. I've never stayed in such an awful place like this before. I booked with Vision Holidays and they describe this hotel has being a superb family run hotel, as I went on holiday with just my daughter I thought this will be fine. The hotel was full of young single people all staying in Marmaris just for the nightlife.

Whilst I was there I experienced the most frightening events of my life. I was wakened in the early hours of the morning with the young lads in the room next room to me coming back from their night on the town. After quite sometime I could still hear a lot of noise and decided to go and politely ask them to be quieter. On opening the door the whole of the corrider was in complete darkness and FULL OF THICK SMOKE!!!! I ran back in the room to get my daughter and picked the phone up to speak to someone on reception about what was happening. I was informed there was no fire!!! We came downstairs in thick smoke to find 2 FIRE ENGINES attending to the fire in the bar area and reception of the hotel. On our way down the stairs a guest from the 3rd floor smashed the fire alarm box on his floor to alert the other sleeping guests. Yes! everyone did get out of the hotel safely, but with no thanks to the staff and the fire was confined to the ground floor. However, 1 lady was taken to hospital at 8 am the following morning with breathing problems from smoke inhalation and was kept in, also a few other people were treated for the effects of the smoke.

The fire engines had no sooner left than the cleaners & all other memebers of staff set to work cleaning and painting the reception. In all credit to the staff the reception was back to normal by 2 pm. Walls washed and re-painted, sofas cleaned & curtains washed. The fire was caused by a fridge in the bar area and most of the fire damage was confined to this area.

The worrying thing was no fire alarms were alerted to get guests out of the building. The young lads in the room next door asked us the day after what had happened - they had slept through all of this. I dread to think what could have happened.

We booked and paid for all-inclusive, the food was appalling!! We ate out every night. The salads were just laid out on silver trays on tables which the flies just made a bee line for. Lunch & dinner we had a choice every day of chips, pasta & rice, accompanied by one meat - mainly chicken!! There was also a bolognaise sauce served everyday & I was never brave enough to try it.

The hotel is in a good location for the beach. At the hotel was a man who everyday sat on your sunbed and tried to sell to you his turkish bath & massage!! The hotel owner and his family sat at the same table on the patio everyday watching everything & everybody. His wife had a little dog that was allowed to just run around the hotel grounds yapping & on some ocassions snapping at anybody. It was even allowed in the dining area where the food was served!!!! The owner & his wife had his meals brought to him every meal time by the over-worked waiteress!!!

The rooms were filthy. The bedside tables and dressing table were never wiped over, the floors were not swept, the 1st room we were given (at 5am) the sheets had holes in them. We were moved the following day as the room had a double bed & I had asked for twin beds. Luckily there was a young couple who wanted a double and kindly swapped with us.

The list is endless of things that weren't right with the hotel I could go on!!! It was a complete waste of money. Luckily for us we have another holiday booked but had this been our only holiday of the year we would have been really disappointed. This was an endurance test not a holiday.

Faulty Towers must be a 5* Luxury Hotel compared to this place!!! Book with caution!!

The Hotel Ayderia In Marmaris Is In No Way Current

The Hotel Ayderia in Marmaris is in no way currently up to a 2 star standard yet alone a 3 star plus as made out - it may have been 3 star when it was run as half board but since it went all inclusive (I believe two to three years ago) it appears to have gone rapidly downhill.

The whole of the all inclusive buffet style meals was a joke. If you don't eat chicken or turkey you were left with a choice of cold spaghetti Milanese or salad. The chicken or turkey nearly always with chips or rice/pasta was served luke warm. The cereals for breakfast were a health hazard with the open milk being left in the heat. There was also no juice of any kind for breakfast only orange squash.

The all inclusive drinks are available only from 10:30 until 23:00 at which point the hotel is plunged into darkness except reception and the only member of staff is the night porter. The drinks seem to be wine, lager, and perm any 2 or 3 from gin, vodka, brandy and whisky and it takes a lot of complaining to persuade them to re-stock on the missing items.

There is a fridge in the room BUT what is the use of a fridge in those temperatures when it goes off as soon as you leave the room along with all the other electrical items.

The cleanliness of the whole complex is poor with rubbish all over the place and our bathroom floor was never clean the whole time we were there. The room maid left us a note on our first day to request we paid the tip directly to her and not leave it in the room as someone else would get it.

The whole hotel seems not to have been maintained at all for a few years with door frames not fitted into the walls properly so that they jammed. Apparently ours was a good room as it was possible to open the door to the balcony and the balcony itself was not broken.

There was an area behind the hotel that appeared to be the barbeque area but this was just a mass of rubbish.

There were various places where there were uneven paths and a manhole cover in the pool bar area that didn't fit. These were a constant danger for people to trip over.

A window close to the pool was broken and appeared to have been in that state for some time. I hate to think what would have happened if someone had slipped into it.

The outside light fittings were an absolute disgrace and had only a few of the six lamps working.

There is a notice by the pool saying that no glasses are to be taken into the pool area, BUT the staff behind the pool bar dispensed nearly all drinks in glass vessels even to children. The only drinks normally available in plastic vessels were water and squash.

Any attempt to report problems or complaints was met with a sudden loss of understanding of English by the staff and an air of total indifference by the owner and his son. One person who complained was told by the owner to either shut up or get out.

A party of residents who left the hotel before us left a message on the entrance "Fawlty Towers" which summed up the general feeling about the hotel. Needless to say this was quickly cleaned off. There is no way that we would ever return to this hotel and would urge others to avoid it.

Spot on... just come back from there (20/09/05) and this review is exactly right Wild horses wouldn't drag me back there.

steph001

On first arrival at the hotel (5am), the man behind the reception seemed to go to a lot of hassel to retrieve a television remote for us, why he went to that trouble is beyond me when all the T.V consisted of was 90 channels with the SAME turkish drivel on EVERY channel!

After buying 6 litres of juice to put in the fridge we discovered that the fridge did not work! so after an hour we had our very own DIY turkish tea!

After complaining to reception they sent their excuse of a maintenance man up to fix it which made no difference, still did not work! After conversations with other guests, their fridges also did not work!

In relation to the other review about this "bootcamp" the window was also still broken during our whole stay (2weeks) 30.6.05-15.6.05

Entertainment? -seen more in a graveyard!

The man with the long hair who always has sun glasses on (mesiha-something like that), I think he is meant to be the entertainer or encourage guests to interact in activities! You will find him leering over anything with breasts and a pulse!(actually, that pretty much sums up all the male staff!

The food was the same everyday, snacks only served for an hour! Most expenditure goes towards buying food outwith the hotel! Not good considering the expense of an all incusive holiday! -even the hotels stray pets don't eat the food! You'd think management would see a pattern, considering these strays are'nt well fed!

If your looking to start a weightloss programme at maximum expense this is where to go! If looking for a good holiday look for other hotel!

I couldnt agree more. We went about 4 years ago and it was diabolical. We stayed in a hotel further down cos it was overbooked for 4 nights and that was as bad. We were served beers in plastic glasses which were poured, then kept cold in a ice cream fridge. Food was rubbish, menu alternating every 3 days. I got ill and was bad for a week. Being behind the police station didnt help as when the power went off, the generator started next to the bathing area belching out black smoke, we'd never go back. The place is a hole and the manager is WORSE than Basil Fawlty
