Do Not Go To The Don Carlos Hotel Unless You Want
Do not go to the Don Carlos Hotel unless you want to spend a lot of money on amenities that most hotels offer for free, such as a towel and a chair near the pool. Believe it or not, the $350 U.S. per night rate does not get you a towel and chair -- they are extra. The bar and restaurant are similarly over-priced. And the management is horrible. Save your money and look for a different hotel.
The Don Carlos hotel I found to be very clean after 2 visits one in November 2005 and one in May 2006. I would recommend it. It is situated near the N340 which runs from Malaga Airport, there are bus services to nearby towns and Taxis if you wish, and the small communal area nearby with supermarkets, restaurants, banks, Beauty treatments, and Chemist, not to mention the well laid out gardens that surround the area of Elviria which is where the hotel is located. The hotel staff were helpful when asked anything or if you were booking excursions.
