I Feel That The Hotel Bouganville Playa Needs An U
I feel that the Hotel Bouganville Playa needs an up to date review. We stayed here in Nov 08 and had a very bad experience. We were in rooms on the second floor that were dirty, dated, worn, had wallpaper peeling off the walls with the plaster behind flaking, baths with rust holes, cockroaches in the bathroom and general poor decor. We were moved to slightly better rooms on a higher floor but this experience overshadoweed our weeks holiday. The rest of the facilities and service in the hotel was of an average standard with the exception of the very unhelpful reception staff.
This may have been a four star hotel twenty years ago but standards have dropped along with the decor of the hotel.
There are far better places to stay in this resort.

The Hotel Bouganville Maintains Certain Expectatio
The Hotel Bouganville maintains certain expectations when seeing it in a brochure which on arrival were first met. There was a warm reception after a long flight with complimentary champagne. However after spending two weeks in the hotel I was less than impressed. The majority of the hotel staff were incompetent in English and in some circumstances unhelpful, as an example our air conditioning was broken for the whole two weeks to the Hotels knowledge yet nothing was done. There was a large selection of food however much of it was greasy and the meat under cooked yet saying this everything was clean and drinks offered regularly (groups over four may have problems in finding places to sit) The sun lounging facilities were limited with over a thousand bedrooms and not even five hundred sun loungers. This hotel is openly catered for families as opposed to young groups and singles. If you are a family I am sure you will enjoy your stay at the Bouganville if not I think you should think about looking for a place to stay elsewhere.

Hotel Bouganville Playa: I Have Taken Holiday
Hotel Bouganville Playa:
I have taken holidays in most of the other Canary Islands, and I must say that I liked Tenerife the best. In recent years Playa de las Americas has had a bit of a reputation with the clubbing scene, and I wasn't sure quite what to expect. Surprisingly to me the town was clean and well cared for with something for everyone and of course the budding stars Karaoke paradise. From talking to a couple of the Brit bar owners it appears the local police have made great efforts to 'clean up' the club problems of recent years. There's also plenty of worthwhile trips and sightseeing to be done on the island.
Well that's enough of the background to my view of Tenerife, what you really want to know is about the hotel, and the Bouganville Playa came out very favourably on just about all points.
I found the rooms to be fairly large, tastefully furnished and decorated, with the housekeeping service being first class, with always clean towels, shower gell etc. being left as it should be.
The two large swimming pools had plenty of sunbeds round them and also extra terrace areas should they fill up. It certainly wasn't necessary to get up early in morning to make sure you got one.
The restaurant in my opinion was the outstanding part of the hotel with the choice of food being extremely varied, several different meats and fish with all the trimmings you can imagine served every evening. Vegetarians were also well catered for. In fact I didn't have chips once while on holiday, what an achievement.
I am not one for staying at the hotel for the evening entertainment, but the little I saw of was done with a great deal of enthusiasm as was the daytime stuff around the pool. Every night had a different theme and you couldn't say the entertainment crew didn't give it their best.
This ten story hotel is well situated for just about everything, being just off the beach, with plenty of bars nearby and the marina just a short walk away.
I don't know if the early part of the season had anything to do with it, but I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the holiday, the town, the people I met, whether locals or fellow holidaymakers, and in particular a blooming' good hotel as well.

Hotel Bouganville Playa: This Was Our First H
Hotel Bouganville Playa:
This was our first hols abroad for 12 years - went with grandparents and our two kids - Hotel large, clean and spacious - food excellent and very plentiful - staff very helpful and hardworking. Went at Easter and the first week weather hot but when the clouds come off the mountains the sun went until about 5pm! second week we had rain and it was colder than the UK on some days - but it didn't spoil our holiday as the first week was brilliant weather. Kids club was superb and the day time activates round the pool - the entertainment team were amazing with sooo much energy. We are going away again next Easter but have decided to try Fuerteventura for a change - would recommend this hotel as good value for money and very relaxing. Many people we met there had been going back for many many years - a nice mix of ages all nationalities but no larger louts which was nice!
