Costa Teguise, Los Carmenes

Went in April 2008 on girly holiday, we are all aged about 18 and in serious relationships. Some guys just presumed we were there for "fun".

Would never go again. Felt much safer walking around the streets of England by myself, then spending any more time Lanzarote.

Loved our stay in Costa Teguise. You have got to try the King Kong breakfast from the pool bar, Monkey Hangers. It is very good value and the people there are very friendly, serving the best cup of tea on the island!

A big disappointment.

I went to Los Carmenes in Lanzarote with my family, and we all had a really nice time as everyone was so nice there, with such a good atmosphere. the people at the pool bar were nice, but I didn't go there much

The pool was freezing, but it felt warm once you put your whole body in for a few seconds.

There was a slight problem with cockroaches, but not too major.

There were lots of places to go for a great day out, and the bars and other hotels had great entertainment!

I would recommend it to anyone, and I'd go again!

I would sincerely recommend Los Carmenes. On whole welcoming and clean. Do not bother hiring kettle, use saucepan for water for tea, coffee etc.

Bath facilities excellent, pool ok although a bit small, use EL TREBOL pool opposite, next to two supermarkets, do not bother with cooking, there are plenty of good restaurants, particularly VESUBIO, turn right at beach, keep walking 1/2 mile round headland, and you can't miss. food exceptional, waiters spoil your kids. Do not be tempted to buy digital cameras. A scam surely?? Would go again.

We went to the Los Carmenes in May 04 and had such a ball we decided to return in November, and it was great, in fact I'd say there have been improvements from the last time. Sun loungers were in abundance and the management have now put up notices informing people that if there is a towel on a lounger is not used for 1 hour, it will be removed so that the bed can be used by someone else, and washing line facilities have been added to all balconies, which is useful.

Maids service was superb and all staff employed at the complex are friendly.

The people who own and work at the pool bar, Diane and Nik, and Jean and John, were fantastic and a brilliant source of local information and knowledge, and even remembered us from our visit there in May, names and all!

We were very impressed when the owner of the complex, Juan, came and introduced himself to everyone and asked if there were any problems etc!

Even the complex cat, Hagrid, is friendly?

Had several very enjoyable nights in Bamboozles, and overall, in general, had another great holiday at the Los Carmennes shame the weather wasn't too brilliant that was the only down point, but you cant have everything!

After reading some reviews, we were a bit wary of Los Carmenes. We had no reason to worry when we arrived, there had been a refurbishment and the accommodation was spotless, the maid came in 6 days out of 7. John, Jean and Nik at the poolside bar were the friendliest staff we have ever known. We were introduced to all of the other guests in the apartments, and Nik is famous for remembering people's names the following year. Many people return. John and Jean are a comedy duo at breakfast time!! Married over twenty years, they deserve a reality show of their own!!!

Luckily we took our own kettle as we knew there was a charge to hire one. The kitchen was a little too basic for a self catering holiday. We had to eat out more than we would have liked too.

At Bamboozles Nik and his wife Diane make you just as welcome, calling everyone by their name and remembering your favourite tipple.

There were a few kids who were well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A fantastic holiday, a place we would definitely go again.

We have been going to Los Carmenes 3 times a year for the last 7 years. Complete refurbishment May 2004. All staff polite and very happy in their jobs since Juan Bossio took over, a very hands on manager, who we have been introduced to and become friends with. He cares for the complex as he would his own home.

If you discover any problems with your room, once reported usually completed within the hour.

Pool well cleaned every day. Rooms above basic for what you pay.

Poolside bar run by friendly and helpful staff (Diane, Nik, Jean & John). If you require any help with car hire, bars, restaurants or places to visit these are the people to ask.

Why not visit Bambozzles, not your average run of the mill bar. Where 3 nights a week live music is performed by Nik (Lanzarotes Elvis) where the atmosphere is fantastic!

There are many restaurants for all tastes within walking distance of the apartments.

Require a few more sunbeds people should not reserve sunbeds all day if they do not require them.

We have visited many times and the holidays just get better. We do not think we will ever get fed up with it. Over the years we have made many friends and a lot of them return and feel like we do. We recommend you visit the poolside bar and Bambozzles.

Just got back from a week at Los Carmenes. Pool area was very small, and the rush to reserve sunbeds at 9 am, made me ashamed to be British. We always used to complain about the Germans. The Management should control the reserving of sunbeds, when they are limited like this. People reserve sunbeds and then go out & return at 3. I hope their towels got sunburnt! Still the beach is only 10 minutes away & only 6 euros a day for 2 sunbeds.

Also watch out for cockroaches. We had 2 separate incidents with them in the apartment. Get them on their backs though, & you can sweep them up with a dustpan & get rid of them.

Costa Teguise, Los Carmenes - Just come back from Los Carmenes and the whole family had a great time. Apartments were lovely and clean. We would definitely go there again for another visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most visitors seemed to be families or couples which was great (no rowdy gangs of lads)!
