It Was Our First Time In Rhodes And We Had A Pleas

It was our first time in Rhodes and we had a pleasant stay at the Emerald Apartments. We had a studio apartment overlooking the pool area and was close to the bar area. The pool was excellent - 2 large swimming pools and 2 kids pools, and a play area for kids. The rooms were cleaned every day, sheets changed 3 to 4 days, plenty of hot water. The hotel provided entertainment every other night- Greek nights, karaoke, bbq nights. We were never affected by the music from the bar and I noticed the barman turning the music down when it reached midnight. The food was good at the hotel although on the bit expensive side however we walked further down the road to the Valsami apts and had lunch there as it was far cheaper. Also, try the Peasgus restaurant past the Bayside hotel. The food is excellent and the people are very welcoming. If you walk along the beach road into Kremasti there are a number of other beach cafes. From the hotel it is a 15 minute walk to Kremasti you can either walk along the main road or take the beach road, I would recommend taking the beach road in the evening you can watch the sun going down it is just beautiful. Kremasti is a lovely greek village, beautiful church and square where you can sit and have a drink or eat some food. There was also a three day folk greek dancing festival in the square. We ate in the Grande Classico, and Romeo they do the most amazing Pizza serving both Italian and Greek food. Trianda is about 25 minute walk although we often hopped on the bus which only takes 5 minutes, there are plenty of bars and restaurants to keep anybody happy. It is about a 20 minute bus journey to Rhodes Town only costs 2 euros for a single. The bus runs all day long and every 15 to 20 minutes and the last bus back leaves before midnight. Rhodes Old Town is out of this world, we loved walking around the streets once again plenty of places to eat and drink or just have an ice-cream. If you are looking for some nightlife then find Miltadou street it certainly comes alive at the weekends there was some amazing music bars all set next to each other along a narrow cobbled lane. If you are young then find "Bar Street" in the new town, clubs and bars all along one street.

We liked where we stayed we enjoyed its quieter location however with the option of going into Trianda or Rhodes Town for more buzz. We would go back.

This Was The Worse Holiday Ever The Food Was Terri

This was the worse holiday ever the food was terrible. Well I suppose if you like flies on the food then this hotel will be right up your street. I'm now twelve weeks pregnant at the time I was ten weeks so could not touch the food in fear of eating an insect. The accommodation was awful with hot water only on occasions.

We were placed right opposite the daily disco that finished at eleven thirty every night. Don ''t get me wrong I'm no killjoy, but there is only so many times you can listen to someone singing English songs in German.

To top this dreadful experience off we were unable to get hold of a rep and every information board was written in German

The Emerald Apartments In Rhodes Are A Family Run

The Emerald Apartments in Rhodes are a family run apartments with the personal touch, and you can rely on the staff for their help and friendliness. If you want a base for your holiday this would be for you.

There is a good night atmosphere at the bar, and plenty of good food at local restaurants, enough for a different one every night. There are plenty of local shops, and it is within walking distance of Kremasti or Trianta.

Having Never Been Abroad Before, I Was Really Look

Having never been abroad before, I was really looking forward to this holiday, the emerald apartments are not actually in Trianda it's in a small village called Kremasti. The apartment was basic, but could not fault them in any way, the pool area was cleaned every morning well before any bathers came down. The air craft noise is really bad, but when you have been there for 2 weeks you get used to it. It's good that the apartments have double glassing to block out some of the noise from the bar at 3am from the staff playing music. A must if you are visiting the place is the IDEAL RESTRAUNT which is located next to the shop (they sell everything you need) Christos the owner of the restaurant makes you so welcome, and him and his staff go out of their way to make the meal enjoyable. The drinks are cheap too. Also you can't go to Rhodes without visiting Rhodes town, but fair warning, watch out for the dreaded time share pushers. They come at you like bees to honey. Go into the old town and I'll guarantee you will have to go again to see it all.

I am just back from The Emerald Hotel and I really enjoyed it. Yes there is Airplane noise but it is well documented. Personally, I enjoyed watching the planes going over our heads as they were so near! The Emerald is in quite a quiet area with the Ideal Bar and a shop beside it - The shop offers everything you need in order for a perfect stay. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the sheets are changed every other day, the floors are spotless and the reception area is gleaming! The Hotel Bar is very good and has great music. You can also eat from the bar everyday and evening, and again personally I thought the food was delicious - ranging from Pizza and chicken burgers to Greek specialities like Mousaka. The Emerald has 3 swimming pools - Kids pool. Shallow pool and a deeper pool and the area is very spacious with many sunbeds. The reception staff are very friendly also. Also the pebble beach is a bout a 5 minute walk away from The Hotel and there is an open cafe opposite if you need a drink or food. Overall I enjoyed my stay here. I would say though to get air conditioning as it gets very hot at night.

Some people are just so hard to please! The Emerald Apartments are basic, like the majority of accommodation in Greece, unless you pay stupid 5 star prices, but they are kept clean and tidy. Food is so cheap in Rhodes, there's really no point in cooking yourself, come on you're on holiday, let someone else wait on you, besides the staff enjoy it.

As for airport noise, you do get warned about it plenty in brochure before going and you get used to it quickly.

I have four children aged 18, 15, 12 and 10 and they always find plenty to keep themselves entertained. We've been to the Emerald four years in a row and each time have made plenty of new and old friends.

It's a lovely place and not too far from the hustle and bustle, if you want a more lively holiday.

Like you, we found the bar food and drinks very expensive, together with the local 'corner' shop. We went in July 2005, the pool was over crowded with kids and at night teenagers sat right outside of our balconey, it was also very windy at night. We would advise that it is cheaper to hire a car from day one and get into town to shop for groceries and inflatables, as we found that the bar and local shops had more than 100% mark up on their prices. But far more distressing was the aeroplane noise, day and night (around every half hour) the Emerald Apartments are DIRECTLY under the flight landing path, with the airport just a short drive around the block. We could practically make out the people sitting in their seats, and we never got used to the noise, we resorted to ear plugs, which still didn't block out the noise let alone the worry of the fumes coming down right on top of us! If you must eat nearby then we recommend 'Mikes Bar' near the beach, which is stoney with cloudy water by the way! All in all this was our worst holiday ever, not at all suitable for families. If you have already booked then we would recommend that you cancel straight away. A good place to visit if you go to Rhodes is Lindos. Thats the only nice comment i can think of.

The apartments are relatively new and very clean and up to date. The bar can be a bit expensive for drinks especially if you are a family and they dissapprove of you taking your own food and drink to the pool area, there are signs asking you not to and for self catering apartments, I feel this is a bit out of order, would suggest keeping drinks in fridge in apartment and popping up to get a drink or take a bottle of water to the pool that thas been kept in freezer overnight,it lasts and keeps cold for ages.

These apartments are advertised as being in Trianda but they are on the outskirts of Kremesti about a 20mins walk, Trianda would be about 40 mins+ walk but along the main road which is very busy, I would recommend a taxi (6 Eur) or the Bus. The Grand Classico or Odessy restaurants in Kremesti are great.

We had a great holiday, yes, the planes come right over the hotel and it is noisy but you get used to it very quickly (from the time you hear the plane to the time it has gone over is about 15 seconds) but there are alot of night flights.

If you have a late departure time you can keep the room until 6.00 for 20 Eur (usual time is 12.00) but make sure you book this about 3 days before departure date and pay immediately otherwise they will not hold the room.

A taxi transfer to the hotel from the airport is 9 Eur and about 10 mins, well worth it as our tour operator wanted to charge £60.00 for the transfers.

I have been there and I agree with you very much.
