Apollon Hotel Kos Town

The Apollon Hotel in Kos Town looks good from the outside, but ROOMS are VERY BASIC and dirty (not more than 2*). Disgusting food. The quality of the food was terrible. However, there were restaurants near the hotel that made excellent food. Breakfast was uneatable, and there was a zoo in the hotel which was smelly, and the flies and mosquitoes from there used to go to the restaurant during breakfast and dinner.

Other guests staying there had nothing good to say either.

Apollon Hotel - I would not recommend this hotel to families with kids as there is no entertainment. Actually, I would not recommend it to anyone. This was quite common with other guests there as no one had anything good to say. Kos is a wonderful place and had good beaches and places to see. I would recommend KOS but not the hotel.

Kos is lovely with gorgeous beaches and great nightlife. I can't believe some of the reviews saying that its discusting, its far from it!! Even the hotel Apollen is nice, so dont be worried if your staying there this summer. And I found the staff to be lovely and pleasent, the rooms were basic but what do you expect for the cheap price? They are clean and theres a maid service everyday!

To summarise Apollon Hotel was a HOLIDAY FROM HELL. The first issue we encountered was the disgusting food they seemed to have no concept of what food went together and the quality of food was the worst I've ever tasted, however restaurants just yards away from hotel made excellent food. On the evening there was constant noise which continued until late morning, we requested the hotel to speak with the guests, this was not done so we requested to be moved rooms however the only room which was available was a higher floor which made absolutely no difference to the level of noise. On more than one occasion I saw guests urinating in the corridor and pool. This was clearly distressing as I was informed this was a family hotel. The holiday was sold to us as a 4 star hotel, this by far was NOT a 4 star hotel. We constantly raised our issues with the staff and asked to speak to the manager who was never available and never contacted us after numerous requests to do so. After the 7th time we entered his office and was asked to leave he was not interested in the issues we had, we later returned to his office and he told us he was too busy as he was working on renewing his contracts with tour operators.

The Apollon in my opinion is the worst place I have ever stayed. I was told the hotel was a 4*. I would not even rate the place as a two star. We had a toilet that leaked sewage over our floor, the rooms were filthy and the attitude of some of the people that worked there was appalling.

Be careful not to drink the water from behind the snack bar as we caught them filling up the mineral water bottles up with water from the tap.

As for Kos itself, the worst place I have ever been!! If you are a beach lover you will be very disappointed as their best beach called Paradise Beach is only a mere 9 metres wide (hardly paradise beach!!)

You get constant hassle there to go into bars/restaurants/beaches/use sunbeds. Stick to the other Greek Islands because this one is bad.

Also the airport is a joke, you have to wait about 45 minutes before you are allowed inside.
