Run To Another Car Rental Company!! I Rented A Car

RUN to another car rental company!! I rented a car from the Fox online site and did not enter the pick up time. When I called immediately to add the info I was told there would be a $70 charge. Unbelievable business practice. I cancelled my rental and took the loss rather than take any further chances with this company. Jonathon at customer service was useless and when I wrote to the company I received no response. They have the lowest star rating possible for a reason. PLEASE...do not rent from this company!!

Poor Choice Of Cars & Untrustworthy Feel About Company.

As other reviews most likely say this is an off airport location. Actually we were lucky there, just as we got to the stop at the airport the bus pulled up & coming back had only a 10 minute wait to be taken back to the airport but for some it was much longer...

Our main issue was we had booked a luxury car, Chrysler 300 or similar. Well they didn't have one, or anything similar. The guy tried to fob us off with a Ford Taurus, which clearly wasn't in the luxury category but he insisted it was with Fox.

In the end we had to settle for a SUV, not what we wanted at all but the best they would offer us. Other companies offer you an upgrade if they don't have what you ordered but we asked about another vehicle we would have prefered & were turned down flat.

The other problem, not for us as we had full insurance etc, was that you have to inspect the vehicle for damage but as we arrived at night in the dark & it was raining & the lighting in the yard was terrible, we couldn't really see until the next day if there was any damage. The next morning we found 2 dings in the 2 front doors. Could have been awkward if we hadn't got all the insurance cover.

They also try to sell you a toll road gizmo at $8-99 for every day of the rental. If you don't take it & miss a toll - we didn't, we just paid cash at every booth, they charge you an extortionate $14-99 PER EVERY DAY of the rental. So one missed toll at say $1-00 could cost you over a $100 for a week's rental. Complete rip off.

The passenger window mechanism was broken, the traction control wasn't working, there was a lot of sand all in the interior when we picked the vehicle up. Tatty would be the best description, not Luxury or premium as we had booked.

The shuttle drivers at both ends of our trip & lady who inspected the car on return were very pleasant & helpful. The rest of the staff unhelpful & disinterested.

Overall they seem a shady outfit offering inferior cars, service & I wouldn't ever use again. I'd rather pay a little more, pick the car up at the airport & get what we had paid for.

I Am So Glad We Rented From Fox Car Rental- Fort Lauderdale!

Based on online reviews, we were hesitant to go to Fox Car Rental in Fort Lauderdale. We actually ended up here as a last resort, having had a bad experience with a another company up the street. I am so happy that we did end up here!

Most car rental companies around here either don't rent to local Floridians or they make impossible demands. All Fox wanted to use a debit card was a 10 second credit check. Painless. Thankfully.

Upon arriving at the huge lot we encountered lots of helpful personnel to answer questions. Inside the long line was a little intimidating- but they had 5 lines so it went fast. The person who we got was friendly, kind and funny- he checked for a price for us that came incredibly close to the online price- it came in under 16.00 bucks for a one day compact! He explained everything to us and had us out in a rapid fashion -which we really appreciated.

We went outside to find our car, and we discovered two really important things that were NOT COMPARABLE with any other car rental company in this price range---

1.) THEY HAVE AN ONSITE GARAGE WITH MECHANICS CHECKING AND REPAIRING AFTER EVERY RENTAL EACH CAR. THEY REPLACE TIRES, AND PUT THE CAR ON A LIFT AND LOOK UNDER AND EVERYTHING!

2.) THEY HAVE AN ONSITE GAS PUMP- EVERY CAR IS RENTED TO YOU WITH A FULL TANK- YOU DON'T HAVE TO GUESS AND PLAY GAMES HOW TO RETURN THE TANK TO THE LEVEL YOU GOT IT AT - YOU JUST FILL IT. NONE OF THE OTHERS WE CHECKED DID THIS!

3.) THEY ARE 24 HOUR -7 DAYS A WEEK. THERE IS NO WE LEFT THE CAR WITH KEYS IN IT BECAUSE WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. AT 2 AM- YOU JUST DRIVE ON THE LOT AND THE GUY CHECKS YOUR CAR AND GIVES YOU A RECEIPT!

PAINLESS! FAST! GREAT EMPLOYEES WITH ATTENTION TO SERVICE. I DON'T CARE WHO SAY WHAT ONLINE- MY EXPERIENCE WAS FANTASTIC! The car drove like a dream- the alignment was perfect- it smelled like new and the model was recent and had usb for my music and chargers!

Paid A Full Size Car And Get A Compact With No Refund!

I have made one prepaid reservation with AtlasChoice four months before the rental, for a full size car in Fort Lauderdale.

Arriving at FOX Rent a Card, they said I could only have a compact car, even with SUVs, Camaros, 4x4, at parking lot. I have lost 3 hours trying to convince the manager for a upgrade, but he was irreducible. He offered U$ 50 refund for inconvenience, but how could I accept a compact car for 3 persons with 4 big luggages?? I have programmed this vacation for 4 months and they ruined it!

After that I opened one claim to AtlasChoice, explaining what happened and they answered: you should contact FOX Rent a Car!

I would not recommend AtlasChoice neither Fox Rent a Car for no one!!

Ahhh and they never refunded me the U$ 50! Pathetic companies stealing your money!!!!

The Worst Car Rental In Los Angeles

I booked a SUV on February 12 th. Arriving at the car rental office FOX on April 12th, in Los Angeles-CA, I received the news that there was no available car booked: SUV Santa Fe or similar. After much complaint , they offered me a smaller and very old car in bad shape. After insisting a bit more, they promised change the car in the next day. After a while they informed me that it would not be possible because the next day there would be no car SUV. So I asked to cancel the booking, but at this moment the officer decided to call her manager who then gave us the Santa Fe in bad condition , dirty, old. It was strange because they first said that did not have one, then Santa Fe suddenly apperead. The service was too bad. At check out was even worse . The company FOX offers no option to return the empty gas tank. They are not fast and efficient....

I would not recommend this company to any user.

Arrived at Fox desk, very friendly service at desk but was ripped off for extra CDW insurance which we already had paid for through Atlas Choice.

Untrustworthy Car Rental Company

I was robbed !!!!!!! Picked up car that I didn't booked and charged over 800,00 USD for insurance I didn't asked for. Paid a LOT !!!!! Thought I would save money but I spent more than 1,100 USD for a Toyota yaris . Only 10 Days rental !!!!!! I want My money Back !!!!!!!!

San Diego Fox Car Rental

Quick service at check-in and check-out; 7-minute shuttle ride (that Fox provides) from airport and easy access to I-5 from rental place. Low rental cost but car (Chevy Captiva) was very clean and virtually brand new. My wife and I will continue to use them while in San Diego and wish they served even more markets. They could put some fear into the Avis, Hertz, and Budget rentals elsewhere. Strongly recommend you consider them!

Worst Experience

Typical bate and switch. Added several additional taxes and upgrades and completely lied compared to our online experience. When we got there all the prices were increased. The service was impersonal and insulting. Don't think you are saving much, not worth the aggravation and disrespect.....

Foxy Car Rental--not

I made a reservation for a Ford Fusion or Kia Sonata on line. We were taken to the rental agency very far from Las Vegas airport. The lines were long--they seemed to have enough help but no one was in a hurry to get anything done and get people out of there. There was no line for reserved cars only.

After a great deal of time the person we finally got was very helpful (or so I thought). I asked how much the waiver insurance was and she said this one is $19.99 -- she neglected to day per day. The same was true of an extra driver. When we were done, she told us that we could go to row 6 and get the sonata. We went out there in thee 110+ weather and there was no Sonata--in fact, they were very few cars in row 6. With nobody to help, we finally found a Ford Fusion that looked like it had been in the war. I made sure we marked all the things and every side, wheel, top, etc. had a X on it.

When we returned the car, the guy couldn't get his machine to print out a receipt. He took my email and said I would get the receipt in the mail. One week later I still do not have a receipt.
