100% Dishonest Car Rental In Malaga

Myself and girlfriend had an awful experience at Arrow Cars ES (or Vavarvroomspain, or whatever else they call themselves). They lied to us several times over the course of 5 days. We picked up the car, a long term rental and did some minor damage to the right hand side whilst parking. We stupidly thought it best to tell them immediately. After being lied to that we would received a replacement car of the same make and model we drove from Gibraltar to Malaga to return the car. We were then told the damage exceeded the deposit so we would not get a replacement (this was 3 days after they knew the value of the damage). They treated us like school children, the entire situation was embarrassing. We even offered to pay for the minor damage out of our own pockets there and then. We've never been treated like this before in our lives and have used car rental companies all over the world and urge anyone contemplating parting with their hard earned cash to go elsewhere - these guys are hugely dishonest, theres no other way of describing them unfortunately. Also the car we were informed was 1 year old. I'd like to point out that this car was far older than that (guess between 6-10 years old) and struggled to get up and slightest of inclines. The car was also absolutely filthy, there were crumbs and crisps and all manor of other dirt everywhere. Shonky car rental of the lowest form doesn't even get close to describing this "company". Stay Away.

I'm sorry you feel you have had a bad experience when hiring a car from our Company. I do feel it would only be correct to balance the review with our interpretation of the events.

Upon collection of the vehicle the Customer inspected it for damage and cleanliness before signing the approval box on pre hire inspection sheet, confirming the condition was as described - undamaged and clean, both inside and out.

The vehicle was indeed only around one year old (this review was written in March 2014. In Spain, the latest registration letter during 2014 was "H". The vehicle the Customers collected was an "H" registered vehicle making it new or nearly new and not "6 to 10 years old" as described in their review.

Within 90 minutes of taking the car, the Customers called our office stating they had driven the car into a concrete post in a car park. No other vehicles were involved. As is the norm, we ask Customers to send photographs of any damage for us to establish if the damage could be potentially dangerous. The photographs showed that the entire side of the vehicle had suffered deep srapes (six panels in total). Not "minor damage" as described above.

As the damage was quite severe, we decided it would be safest to undertake a safety inspection of the vehicle and if needed exchange the car for another. The Customer told us they were not available for us to undertake a safety inspection and that we would have to wait. Obviously, the safety of our Customers is our first priority and this situation could not continue. After several days of our staff insisting, the Customer finally returned to our offices.

Because, the Customer refused, on several occasions, to allow us to inspect the vehicle for any damages that could be dangerous, we were left with no alternative other than to cancel the rental contract and refund the Customer their unused rental days.
