Third Time Was No Charm

Used this service in jan and it was excellent. However the past two times have been a disaster. In May we were never assigned a driver. Two calls were made to their office. Finally someone appeared over an hour after our arranged time. Obviously no one was assigned our booking, and he picked it up at the last minute. Was rushed and did not know way to hotel. But at least he got us there. Then last week, we called the day before to reconfirm. Arranged pick up time came and went. Call to office assured me that someone would show up. They did 30 min late. It is apparent that they no NOT have their own drivers, and farm these out to sub contractors. Again, think this was assigned last minute to someone from another company who agreed to do it. Emailed 4 times to get a free phone number that I was provided with Jan booking. Easier if no cell phone available when you land. Emails are totally ignored.

I travel to London 4-5 times a year, and this is my FINAL experience with Silver Shuttle. Never again.

They Were A No-show!

Silver Shuttle was not in the terminal waiting for us on our arrival. Our flight was early but they said they monitored flights for changes in arrival times. They did not. When they had not shown up at the terminal by our scheduled arrival time we called Silver Shuttle. They had not sent a car but they said they would. When the driver arrived, he didn't have a Silver Shuttle meeting board as was stated in our instructions. Our names were scrawled in such a way on the meeting board that we had difficulty recognizing that this was our driver. It would have been much easier and less expensive to have taken a cab. We will never use Silver Shuttle again.

Do Not Use Silver Shuttle. Did Not Show Up.

I booked Silver Shuttle for a round-trip transportation from Heathrow to our hotel in London. I received the email confirmation regarding the scheduled pick up time two nights before. I was intructed to turn on my phone upon landing for a text message that would instruct me on where to meet our driver. I received no text. After walking around the terminal for 30 minutes, we contacted them by phone. We were told that due to heavy traffic, our driver was 15 minutes late. Mind you, they were already 30 minutes late. After waiting another 30 minutes, and still, receiving no call or text with an update, we called yet again. We were told the driver was just pulling into the airport and to continue waiting. After ANOTHER 30 - 40 minutes, (mind you, no call or text from them), we called and asked to speak to a manager. We had already paid for the shuttle service, and taking a taxi would incur yet another additional cost, not to mention, cost twice as much. We were transferred to an advisor, who explained he had been unaware of the problem; however, was unable to reach the driver. After over 2 1/2 hours of waiting, we were forced to pay a taxi to take us to our hotel. I have never in my life dealt with such an unproffessional shuttle company. Please do not waste your time with them.

Many thanks for your feedback regarding this trip. Great service is very important to our business and it is very disappointing to have failed in this instance. We have had to take action against the service operator involved under our compliance procedure as the main cause of this problem was the incorrect estimate given to us when you first called us of 15–20 minutes. We had assumed that you were then picked up. It was only when you called us again 1 hour later we realised there was a more serious problem. By this time it was too late to organize an alternative and we agreed to reimburse you for the additional cost for you to take a taxi. We would like to apologize again for the inconvenience and stress caused. We have refunded you for the trip and the additional cost incurred. We also offered a free of charge replacement journey in order to show you that we can offer excellent customer service.

Left Waiting

We booked Silver Shuttle for a pick up at Heathrow. When the driver did not show, I called the office and was told that he was waiting at the coffee bar. Nooo, he wasn't there. So, I called again and was told he was caught in traffic. So we waited 15-30 minutes and called back again and was told, He's on his way. We waited again for a period of time, and now with temperatures at the boiling point, we made the FOURTH and final call and was told another driver was on his way. BTW -- I did ask on 3 occasions to speak to the manager, who somehow couldn't be found or wasn't around.

The cowardly manager did call me 3 days later to discuss the situation. He very generously offered to give us a complimentary ride any where in London during the next year. Very nice, knowing that we were from the US and don't make this trip very often. He refused to adjust the price in any way to compensate for the poor service. We will NEVER us Silver Shuttle nor will we ever recommend them to friends and family. Buyer Be Ware -- You can do better!

So Relieved!

I booked Silver Shuttle for my 22 y.o. daughter arriving for the first time at Heathrow airport. She didn't have a mobile phone, her flight was delayed and I was being a paranoid mother ringing Silver Shuttle a number of times to make sure they would wait for her and keep looking out for her. I was so relieved when the driver let her use his phone to ring me to let me know she was ok. Thank-you Silver Shuttle. I would definitely recommend you.

Appalling Service - Took Money And Then Cancelled Booking

What an awful service. This is the first time I've come across an airport transfer service where you HAVE to pay online first before you get the confirmation of booking. I did so with plenty of time before my flight to London. As I was making my way to London I got a text saying that my booking had been cancelled "as requested". I never did that. I arrived at Heathrow late at night (which is why I wanted to have a taxi booked) and then had to make my own way (not into central London - that would have been easy) to my destination. It cost me almost twice as much as I had to take a taxi. Apparently there were "problems" wtih my payment but no point between the confirmation and the text was I informed about it. Worst of all, when I came back home, money had been taken from my account!!! Awful, unreliable company. Don't use them!

Unfortunately the credit card company took an excessively long time to provide the refund after it had been submitted.

We did provide a written apology and verbal apology for this incident. We also provided you with a free airport transfer as compensation.

Indeed, the money has been refunded. But that was after almost a month! I had to make numerous phone calls after my return (yes, international phone calls at that, no apologies, and no compensation for those...) to constantly chasing up for the refund. Not good at all.

The technical fault which caused this problem has now been resolved and the payment refunded to the payment card. Unfortunately we weren't aware that you didn't actually want to cancel the booking until after you had made the alternative arrangements. We would be happy to offer you a discount to you next time you require a transfer in London to make up for this issue. Best regards.
