I Just Wanted To Say Flying With Silverjet Airline
I just wanted to say flying with Silverjet airlines was an amazing experience. I generally think of a vacation beginning with arriving at our destination and ending once we board our flight home, but I have to tell you that flying with Silverjet extended our vacation and it was an amazing experience in itself. I know it sounds crazy but I almost wished the flight was longer (7hrs to New York from London!). The crew were so friendly yet very professional. The ambience inside the lounge was second to none compared to all of those that I have been to with great food, wine and champagne - all inclusive! They also had showers and a range of newspapers, magazines and free wireless internet. I was struck by two things with your crew. First, they are so friendly as so many other airlines claim to be, but more importantly they sincerely seem that way, not like it is simply their job. Whoever screened their applicants was brilliant with their choices. Secondly, every last one of the Silverjet crew spoke glowingly of their company with tremendous pride, which to me speaks volumes. Fantastic food, excellent service throughout and with a price that was unmatchable I kept wondering where's the catch. Absolutely none is the answer!

The Planes Are Comfortable But Are Done Up B767's.
The planes are comfortable but are done up B767's. Food choice was good and excellent quality.
We were caught up in the pipe explosion in NY so flight was delayed but ground staff kept us informed at all times of the status.
Crew were all friendly and helpful both ways.
Buyer Beware Of Silverjet! In Early J
Buyer beware of Silverjet!
In early June 2007 I was scheduled to fly on Silverjet from EWR to LTN and return a few days later. On the morning of my outbound flight I went to Silverjet's website to check my flight's status. It said it was cancelled due to mechanical problems. I immediately called and their agent informed me that she would call me back within a half hour. After 45 minutes with no call I called again. The agent informed me that she could get me an economy class seat on a Virgin flight a few hours after Silverjet's scheduled departure. I told her that wouldn't do, I wanted a business class seat since that is what I paid for and I needed an earlier flight or else I would miss my first meeting in London. The agent told me that the Virgin economy class seat on the flight she offered me was all she could do for me, effectively telling me to take it or leave it.
I left it. I cancelled my Silverjet ticket and got a full refund. I then booked a last minute ticket on BA.
I found their so-called mechanical problems excuse very suspect. A few days before the flight I logged in to change my seat and noted the flight was only one quarter full. Though I don't know for sure, I'm inclined to believe that when Silverjet flights are not sufficiently full and it is uneconomic for it to operate the flight, they simply cancel the flight and tell customers it is for mechanical reasons and then offer them an economy class seat on another airline.
I will not give Silverjet another chance. Not only did I not appreciate being left in the lurch, I was left with the very unpleasant feeling that I'd been scammed.
