Booked A Hotel Through Them, Got A Confirmation Co
Booked a hotel through them, got a confirmation confirming a completely different hotel on the other side of the world..literally! Totally different country! Won't give a refund either! DO NOT BUY THROUGH THEM! Honestly won't go through trip advisor either because they directed me to Tingo.
As I Needed To Book This Particular Hotel For 1 Ni
as i needed to book this particular hotel for 1 night being Friday the 17th of November i looked on their site which said rooms available from the 16th to the 18th so when i high lighted the 17th and moved to the next stage of credit card details it no longer displayed exactly which day i had booked , 3 times i went back page to make sure i had got the right day , once i had paid and the details came through , yep it had been booked for the Thursday the 16th , so i rang the hotel and there were no rooms available for the Friday night . So i rang Tingo customer service (yes of course it was in Manila) and explained the issue , i was told they don,t give refunds , although it had been 3 minutes before that i had booked , they wanted to know if i wanted to stay on the 15th or 16th instead , they have their site rigged to take the booking even if they can't deliver and then try to move you on the day , well that smells like sham to me . after a lot of foul language , all by me , they told me they rang the hotel and they would give my money back , don't let the trip advisor symbol fool you , stay away from here - Kangaroo Island South Australia
Never Again
This is the most STUPID website I have ever gone through. Booked a hotel in advance and when I got to the hotel they said that my name was not on the reservation, yet my card was charged the day I booked it and I got a confirmation email with confirmation numbers with the correct hotel picture, hotel name, and hotel address. Called the number that was DIRECTLY ON THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL. The guy had to direct me towards another number, in which the other person directed me to a third person. This whole ordeal took over an hour and I was only going to be staying for the full day and half the day the next day. The people I called told me I DID have a reservation (and the third woman I was directed to sounded like she was outside on a windy day). So why was I at the hotel and there was nothing? Correct address and everything. The woman at the desk said another couple beforehand had the same issue. I WILL NEVER BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE AGAIN. Nothing but stress. I asked all three people why I was charged and why I was sent a confirmation email. No one had a direct answer. I demanded a refund, after all three of them were having trouble understanding the issue which was not hard to understand at all. Giant waste of my time. I'll be calling a hotel directly next time I refuse to use a website to book a hotel after this absolute SHI T show.
Stay Away!!!
I booked a hotel with Tingo travel which was linked to TripAdvior. A few minutes later I found myself made a mistake regarding the booking. So I cancelled the booking online and I received an email from Tingo saying my booking was successfully cancelled. However, when I got my credit card statement, I found they charged me one night stay plus tax penalty, which was more than 300$. When I called them, they told me it's their policy to charge one night plus tax penalty if cancelled within two weeks (even after a few min in my case) and another night after two weeks.
I checked the hotel website and the hotel offered even better deal. And the best thing is that hotel only needs 24 hours notice for cancellation. There is no cancellation fee if made 24 hours prior!!
Therefore, if anyone is thinking booking through Tingo, you'd better 100% sure you aren't going to change your plan otherwise prepare to pay 1-2 nights penalty. By the way, check the hotel website that you're thinking to book, most likely you will find a better deal.
Dishonest
Booked a room via Trip Advisor and received a confirmation email from Tingo. The booking allowed cancellation upto 3 days before arrival date. When plans changed I attempted to cancel the booking via the " manage my booking " tab only to find it had been disabled. A subsequent email was ignored by Tingo and so I have now been charged. Outrageous and plainly dishonest behavior. Don't use Tingo they simply don't deserve the business.
Stranded Abroad
Booked an all-inclusive resort stay double checking everything, listing proper ages of kids because it is an all-inclusive.
We have printed this page with full details and itinerary.
Upon arrival everything went smooth, three days later we get a call from front desk telling us that the reservation has our kids ages listed as 0 and they need to charge us as kids are not infants. We bring our print out, front desk states that everything seems correct, but Tingo has to update the data. We e-mail tingo, get a reply stating that they e-mailed resort and talked with them on the phone, everything is fine, enjoy! Go to front desk to double check, resort personnel states that nothing was done to correct the situation. Call Tingo from front desk no one picks up. Next day get reassurance from Tingo that everything is corrected. Fast forward to check out, we are charged additional $1500.00. Attempted to resolve situation for about two hours, cannot get a hold of a person from Tingo, only e-mails. Bottom line we had to pay additional $1500.00 in order to leave, our luggage was taken hostage.
Upon arrival back home, we communicate with Tingo and they state that there was an issue with their system and unfortunately the price with additional $1500.00 is the correct price. We rebuttal with e-mails from them, send them our scanned print out.
"We apologize for inconvenience..." That's a pretty expensive inconvenience, $1500.00 inconvenience.
Never again. Customer Beware.
Changed Hotel After I Paid!!!
I googled a hotel we know and like on TripAdvisor. They (Tingo on behalf of TA or the other way round) offered a good rate so I went ahead and booked it, with an option to cancel. Once I paid, the confirmation was for a DIFFERENT hotel from the same chain. No match to the one I wanted!! However, the picture on the confirmation (bearing the name of the 2nd hotel) belonged to the hotel I wanted.
In case you might think I made a mistake, I can assure you I did not. As a matter of fact I took a screenshot of the page because I was booking several months in advance and wanted to make sure they honored the refund policy if I needed to change plans... and the hotel name is the one I wanted. It was only AFTER I PAID that they confirmed ANOTHER hotel. This is square and fair cheating since all hotels in this chain (seven in total, different categories and different prices) bear the name of the chain and the hotel name last. Had I not known this I would have been fooled, and booked the wrong hotel since, as I said before THE PICTURE BELONGED TO THE HOTEL I WANTED.
I blame both Trip Advisor and Tingo (a company I had never heard of before). This happened today and I have already cancelled the reservation. Let's see when I see my money back!! Stay clear from these people!!!
Took Me Over 1 Hour And 4 Calls To Change Reservation Dates
Their staff is poorly trained, they were unable to locate my reservation because it was for a Mexican Hotel. They gave me 2 different numbers to call their international division...none of them worked. When I finally got the correct number, the agent was unable to help as she did not speak Spanish. I was charged 3 different times, 3 different amounts for the rooms. They refused to remove a penalty fee, even though one of our party was ill, so we had to change the dates. This was not a cancellation!!! Now I will have to spend time with my bank getting the charges removed! NEVER EVER deal with TINGO!!!
Do Not Use Tingo! Horrible Experience. Headache!
I tried few times to cancel the booking in their website over 2 months! For the first few times, I thought is was website error or maintenance. Their website never let you check or modify your bookings, the system always show couldn't find your booking number?! That's weird. After 2 months I just lost my patience and decided to call them to cancel.
The operating system ask me to key in my booking number, then waiting for customer service to answer the call. The first question fr the CS is " can I have your booking number"?! So, what is the point to ask me to key in? Terrible system!
She keeps repeating the check in & check out date in the conversation for 3 times, even I keep asking her to move on to cancel, she just talk like a robot ignoring what I'm saying. And also questioning why I want to cancel the booking for twice!
Come on, I have been using other few major booking website and never encounter this issue. This is the ONLY WEB base booking agent that you take 30 sec to complete your booking online, but it took me 6.25mins to call in for a cancellation. What a ridiculous inconvenient and inefficient!!
If you are trying to book your vacation or hotel through TripAdvior, you should know that Tingo is the one behind the TripAdvisor to book for you and you will get all the worst experience I had. Once for all, will never be back and trust TRIPADVISOR BOOKING anymore!

Tingo Is The Worst Hotel Travel Agent Ever!!
Their website never let you check or modify your bookings. Their customer service will not help you or even pick up your call!! The line just cut off!! After I called over 5 times, finally someone pick up the phone but did not help anything. Do not use their any service if you still want to have a good vacation experience!! I read the other reviews about Tingo and found they will charge you twice and they will never refund!! if you are trying to book your vacation or hotel through TripAdvior, you should know that Tingo is the one behind the TripAdvisor to book for you and you will get all the worst experience I had.
