Very Helpful, Would Definately Use Again If Hadnt Gone Bust.
It really is a shame that the company have gone bust as i found the staff very friendly and helpful.
I booked my whole family and friends over to turkey for my husbands 50th and we had no problems what so ever.
R-Travel are an independant company so they doent run the same systems as thomas cook and thomsons. they advertise their holidays through agents like ice lolly.com where we found our holiday to the Kremlin Palace. once you go through the rigmarole of getting a costing you have to phone the company up. Often when you phone theres extras to be added on but this was all advertised on the website. I got through to the sales clerk and she told me all about the hotel as her friend had stayed there! she was spot on all the handy little hints and tips she told us. she was very helpful and efficient and even gave us a free phone number to call back on so that we didnt have to pay the large call fee. Our paperwork didnt come through for a week so i called her to let her know and when she had asnswered the phone she had told me that she knew exactly why i was calling as there had been a back log in the system and that all the paperwork had een sent out. sure when i checked my emails she had actually sent it earlie that day.
we travelled and were extremely happy with the overall holiday and the agency experience so we have no complaints really and would definately recommend to anyone. its just a shame that the company went into liquidation.
Most Inept Company I've Ever Used
After a several attempts to get a confirmation from this company to start with which confirmed return flights to Gatwick, the tickets that we got returned us to Manchester. We were unable to rectify their mistake whilst on holiday Thus losing holiday time and causing alot of frustration. Upon our return R-travel would not even refund the expenses due to their mistake and their Customer service agent Kenneth Lockley was brash rude and insulting. I returned from my holiday in August 2010 as yet haven't been re-imbursed. I'd avoid like the plague. I would write a longer review including further details but the gist is (from my perspective), use with extreme caution.

Scammers, Just Interested On Taking Your Money Without Offering You The Proper Service You Deserve
we were quoted one price but when payment was taken we were charged £80.00 more. after several phone calls they managed to refund me. they tried to feed me some rubbish about that being a debit card fee but i was having none of that and insisted and after speaking to management they refunded me. the holiday we were sold came personally recommended by the travel rep who knew several people who went there and had a brilliant time. we had some doubts after reading some of the mixed trip advisor reviews but he assured us that not everyone will always be happy and that he gave us his guarantee that the hotel was excellent. upon arriving at the airport in egypt we were shocked to find out that the paper work r travel had provided us with was insufficient to get our transfers to the hotel, which were included in the price we paid for the holiday. we were told to pay £20 and this would be refunded back to us via the holiday rep. however the holiday rep said that we would have to take this up with the travel agent as this was their error and not his.
upon arriving at the hotel, we noticed how small and grotty it looked,definitely not a 5* as advertised. more like a 2*. our rom was horrible and smelt of sewage. it was so bad we had to change hotels and pay a supplement of £175.
upon arriving home i have been trying to contact r travel via phone and email to complain but i cant get through on the phone and i am left on hold for up to 45 mins at a time. i have emailed them several times to no avail. no one has returned my emails so i feel like i just have to call it a day and learnt to only book through reputable well known travel agents. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY

I Felt I Needed To Write A Review For R-travel Aft
I felt i needed to write a review for R-travel after my awful experience with them.
I booked a holiday with them two weeks ago i am due to depart this saturday,booked via their website everything went smoothly received a breakdown of my booking ten minutes after submitting it online and was told i would receive my confirmed booking shortly. 24 Hours later my confirmed booking documents came through, excellent you might think however this is where the problems began.
I had booked and paid for meals on our flights, my confirmed booking stated no meals, i rang them up on the Friday to be told that you cannot pre book meals with them, although why i was able to on the website and charged for them is beyond me they said they would look into it and call me back...no phone call came so i rang them back the next day, they told me they would need to speak to the sales agent who processed my booking and convieniently she wasn't in so they would call me back the next day..... no phone call came 3 days later i noticed a refund for the meals had gone back onto my card no emails were sent or phone calls to confirm this would be happening.
I then started reading reviews on Monarch and how APIS info is needed 72 hours before departure, i hadn't received any notification that they needed my passport details so i have just called them now asking if they needed it to which the girl replies " have we asked you for it?" i said no so she says "oh it probably isn't needed then, can i take your name to check" she checks and then asks for my email address to send over the APIS email which turns out they do need!!!
So i have just received the email which is marked URGENT asking for all passport info or we will be refused boarding and this is needed 72 hours before departure i.e TODAY! this email they received 6 days ago!!!
So had i not chased this up i would have had no holiday to go on this Saturday i'm absolutely shocked at how un-professional this company is no wonder Freedom travel (part of the co-operative travel group) are in crisis talks and currently in the process of being taken over by Thomas cook it's no wonder they went bust a long time ago!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed all goes smoothly now this saturday and that i have a hotel at the other end of my flight!! STRESSFUL NEVER AGIN DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE !!!!!!!!!!

I Booked A Holiday In Turkey Through R Travel In M
I booked a holiday in Turkey through R Travel in March 2011 (holiday taken in April). I found the sales team very helpful. However, the confirmation email took 3 days to arrive (rather than 24 hours) and when it finally did come through it contained a number of errors (including room numbers). Having read some reviews on this site I became slightly concerned that I would not receive the holiday that I'd booked and paid for. This said, I emailed R Trave's admin team and all errors were corrected fairly swiftly. In addition, very clear holiday information was received, via email, 7 days before the holiday. All worked very smoothly and we had a great holiday. Well done R Travel!

Hi all, Just found this site wished I found it a while ago. Been dealing with R-Travel since we booked our holiday with them in Feb 2010. We were happy with everything until like thousands of others they called us to tell us that our holiday was effected by the collapse of Goldtrail last August we were due to fly 3 weeks later. Since then R-Travel have been a nightmare to deal with. They do not respond to email or telephone an email I sent in Dec 10 got an automated response blaming the snow for the delay in responding, I still havn't had a response to that email we are now in April 11. Staff do not take any notice of customers and at one point one of their staff terminated my call, HOW RUDE, anyway thankfully we are due our payout of a refund within next 2 weeks no thanks to R-Travel and there hopeless staff. Don't spend your money with them.
Hi I wrote this review and just thought I would update. Got our money back for flights now fighting for accomodation monies. R-travel have gone bust and are no more so I'm now dealing with freedom travel group who are very nice. Just waiting to hear back will let you know how I get on

Never Again!! Where Do I Start, Booked The Holiday
Never again!! Where do i start, Booked the holiday, two weeks later no confirmation, endless phone calls, confirmation sent with names spelt wrong,more phone calls. Nine days before we went told documents posted, seven days before nothing, rang back very rude admin staff said they hadnt sent them they would email them, more calls later, documents finally get emailed airport transfers state three people not four, E-Ticket states wrong terminal, lots more calls later sent again. It amazed us we actually got their, the stress, tears and imcompetance this company caused us was not worth rhe few quid it may have saved us please listen to all these reviews because it certainly seems once they have your money, they just dont want to know.

my son has nut allergies and needed to let the airline know because he needs to take his injector onboard the flight, they have sent me an email confirming every thing is ok and they even let the hotel know,

I Booked to take my family away to tenerfie for the school holidays,
made the booking with a girl called rachel, she got me the price and took my money, i had my paperwork through next day by email.
then i need to add on another case for my daughter so rang them spoke to a young guy who sorted it on the spot, I go tuesday, been to hotel about 6 times and this was the cheapest i paid and no hassle what so ever, don't know what the other reviews are talking about, helpful , quick and right price would recommend to anyone!

We booked a holiday at the BarCelo in Caleta, Fuertaventura, about two months before we were due to go. After reading the reviews on this site about R-Travel, we became a little concerned if we would even get the holiday we had booked. Our departure date came nearer and still we had not received our tickets and so our anxiety grew, until around ten days before our holiday we received our tickets via email.
Result! No problems at all.
Excellent.
We would book with R-travel again.
