Allow Fraudulent Transactions
I reside in Australia and they allowed someone with totally different names to mine to book flights in their names using my credit card numbers... I doubt they even has the 3 digit security code as I have the card still ! Authorised $4700 !! What a joke this company needs to be investigated !!
Unable To Make Their Connections
It is not possible to make your two hour connection in Mumbai in the time Orbitz allows. Moving from the international side of Mumbai is very time consuming because of the undermanned security process.
WE missed our domestic flight and were forced to pay Jet Airways a penalty to change our ticket and rent an overpriced basic hotel and spend 22 hours getting out of Mumbai.
Orbitz offered us a voucher for less than half the cost to us of their mistake in not allowing enough time for us to make our connection.
Missing flights in Mumbai seems to be common. Another couple on a different flight had the same problem we had.
Fortunately there are more competent travel agencies.
Avoid Mumbai airport if you can.
Do Not Book With Orbitz
I researched flight to from Australia to Thailand on an Australian flight compare website and found orbitz to be advertising the cheapest flights. I then provided to book these flight to then find out they were actually quoting in US dollars therefore not the cheapest flights. I only found this out when my credit card bill came in. I needed up paying over $200 aus extra. I contacted orbitz and suggested it was not fair to advert their flights as being cheaper as they were selling their flight in US and the other companies were selling in AUS dollar. Therefore the comparison was not valid. They did say they didn't indicate the prices were in US but in the FAQS section you could find this information. I argued that this was not clear or transparent business practices and wanted some Compensation for the hidden costs I experienced. They refused to offer me anything. I feel ORBITZ operate dishonestly and want protect others from being RIPPED off!!!

This Company Is Bordering On Fraud! Having Failed
This company is bordering on fraud! Having failed to make my reservations they still manged to "pre-authorise" more money on my card than the reservations should have cost. To add insult to injury, they then attempted to charge a further $500 in a second transaction for which there is no justification at all. In total over $3000 of error when the package I was trying to book was only $2400 had I managed to book it successfully! This effectively blocked me from using my account as all my balance was tied up by being "pre-authorised". So now I cant even book elsewhere using that card until I get the whole mess sorted out.
So now we come to customer service. Hours on the phone to achieve nothing! They dont treat it seriously, they give incorrect advice, they lie about what they are going to do to fix it. They leave you on hold for literally hours and still they dont fix the problem or provide any form of sensible explanation for what has happened.
But the best thing of all is that as a result of all this catalogue of shame, I refuse to use ORBITZ again. So I decided to look online at another way of making my travel plans............
I found out that if I book my flights (same flights, same airline) my hotel (same room same hotel same dates) and my car (same car same company) all seperately through the actual companies, the total bill is less than the ORBITZ "special deal".
I will NEVER touch Orbitz again. (By the way expedia was more expensive than orbitz for the same package and they dont get good reviews so I guess I wont be using them either).
Do yourself a favour and book direct with the airline / hotel or rental company.

I use Orbitz to book travel for myself and for my mother several times a year, and I started using Orbitz on the recommendation of my father, who uses it several times a year. However, after my last experience, I will never use Orbitz again.I booked a trip to Las Vegas for May 27 through 30, 2009. This trip was for my best friend's wedding, and about 25 people booked their tickets to the wedding through Orbitz. When I booked my flights, I specified that I wanted flight times after noon. My original flights were the following: I was to leave Omaha at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, and I was to leave Las Vegas at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. These times were perfect.I received four flight updates between January and February. The first two kept the flight times at acceptable times. When I received the third and fourth update, I (wrongly) assumed that the times would be within what I initially specified " after noon. Furthermore, I figured with four flight changes in one month, there were bound to be more over the next three months. However, when I received the confirmation the day before I left Omaha, I discovered that the time I left Las Vegas on Saturday had changed to 8:10 a.m.Now, I know for a fact that there were later flights leaving Las Vegas, because I was the only person at the wedding who had this super-early time. Because of this flight time, my vacation was cut short, and I missed wedding festivities on Friday night because I had to go to bed early so I could be up at 4:30 a.m. the next day to catch the 8:10 a.m. flight. Moreover, I missed the wedding brunch with the other guests on Saturday morning because I had to be up at 4:30 a.m. to catch the 8:10 a.m. flight.Because Orbitz did not stick to the time I specified when booking this trip, I hold Orbitz accountable for screwing up my first trip to Las Vegas and time I should have had with my best friend and her groom. I missed out on festivities on Friday AND Saturday because of this, and I am not pleased. This is time I can't get back with my friends. Orbitz robbed me of a night and half a day of my vacation.While I'm voicing my displeasure, I'm going to add that I was stuck paying an extra $20 a night at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas because Orbitz booked me in the "fabulous" MOTEL part of the Imperial Palace. Thanks, but I didn't feel the motel was very safe. So I coughed up an additional $20 a night to stay in the main part of the hotel. So thank you for booking me in the lousiest part of the hotel possible so I could pay extra each night to feel safe.When I called Orbitz after my trip, they put the blame on the airline. However, I did not book my flights through the airline, I booked them through Orbitz. Furthermore, when pointed out that they completely disregarded that I'd specified flight times after noon, they continually ignored this and continued to blame the airline. Orbitz's customer service was horrible, and I'm still irked that they cut my vacation short.
I Will Never Use Orbitz Again! I Just Took A Trip
I will never use Orbitz again! I just took a trip to the Oregon Coast, Seaside Oregon. And thought it would be a good idea to go through Orbitz to get the best deal (like they advertise) But instead was totally ripped off!! I paid for our Hotel stay with my debit card and was charged istantly by Orbitz. After we completed our stay at the hotel they gave me the reciept and it was 35.60 less than what we were charged by Orbitz! I contacted Orbitz and they said that the price I paid was a contracted amount through the hotel we stayed at. And that the hotel was not supposed to give me a reciept with the lower price amout that Orbitz acctually paid for us to stay at that hotel. Orbitz charged me a (hidden) fee off 35.60. Orbitz in turn would not refund the differance amount of 35.60. Therefore I will never use Orbitz again nor will I ever recomend anyone else to ever use them! I could have got a much better deal going directly to the hotel and made reservations!!!!
I hope some one out there will see this review and not use Orbitz!! They are a total rip off!!!!

I Bought Round Trip Airfare From Seattle To Amahei
I bought round trip airfare from Seattle to Amaheim ca with 2 rooms reserved at the lemon tree hotel in Anaheim. The rooms were not even close to what was described in their advertisement. Rooms were to be smoke free, they were not. Rooms were to have a kitchen, they had a small refer with a microwave setting on top. The rooms were very run down and smelled dusty. The furniture was in broke down or worn out condition. The bathrooms were so small that you could not turn around in them.
We spent one night and then checked out. The Hotel would not give us a receipt that we checked out so I called Orbitz and was put on hold for what seemed hours before they listened to my story. They said they had me checked out and would settle up after my trip. When we returned home I contacted orbitz to get a refund and they acted like they did not know what I was talking about. I got the impression that they have a no refund policy no matter what. I will never do business with orbitz again.
