Unfriendly Owners. Beach Towels For All Except Cresta Guests
My husband and I came back home on Sat 28th June after 2 weeks at the Flora. We found the owners very unfriendly and downright rude at times. They showed absolutely no interest in the guests unless they were French. They always fussed over them in the dining-room. It was embarrassing to hear them.
Also we soon noticed that all the guests were using beach towels provided by the hotel. We were the only ones to have to use our own. It made us feel like second-class citizens. This cannot be right. You provide beach towels to everyone or to no-one.
Apart from those 2 points we did enjoy our holiday in Stresa and were very happy with our accommodation (we had a spacious room with a stunning lake view) and with the service provided by the dining-room staff and the maids.

late pick up from hotel caused problems at airport as to seating so flight home we sat 10 rows apart also had to rush to gate as it was in another part of airport 20 mins walk and train ride from check in .we were never told this or helped in any way just dumped out of transport and left to fend for ourselves .... WORST WE HAVE EVER HAD ....we will never never use cresta again but still will go to venice next year ...
if information about departure and seating together would be a improvement and correct pick up times
Dont Use Cresta
THIS COMPANY MAY GET YOU TO YOUR DESTINATION BUT IT MAY NOT
GET YOU BACK.
On a recent short break to Instanbul with Cresta the company
did not get us to the airport in time to catch the return flight.
We were picked up at the hotel at the allocated time but the
driver could not get us to the airport on time.
There were heavy showers at the time and it is well known that
this causes traffic problems. Cresta is a Thomas Cook company
and claim to be experts in the field. Any local could have told
us that heavy rain causes delays. Why not the travel experts.
We were obliged to pay for a later return flight ( at great expense)
We were taken to an hotel but this was after 2200, no offer of
a meal was given and we were picked up at 0400 to catch the
plane.which left at 0930 by the way Cresta/Thomas Cook say it
is nothing to do with them. This was in May . It is now August
and a second letter is supposed to be on the way again Cresta
denying any responsibility.
Save yourself a lot of grief...do not use these companies.
Excellent Review. I have used Cresta 3 times. Once 8 years ago and enjoyed the holiday with no hassles, the other 2 times the rooms were not as expected. Also they use an expensive phone lines ( 0844 and 0871) a sneaky way to make a few pounds, as the machine answers and it is ages before you connect to a human.
AVOID USING CRESTA OR THOMAS COOK. There are other agencies that use local or free phone numbers.
Poor Customer Service And Organisation Of Transfers
Booked a holiday to Bayeaux through CRESTA, they booked us on a train from Paris to Bayeux that allowed very little time from our flight landing to catching the train in the centre of Paris. CRESTA refused to change tickets when we queried these times before we left.
This Caused much stress and anxiety as seats were non transferable to the later train and we jogged between trains and metro's literally boarding the train as it was about to leave (only reason we caught the train was due to a delay). We Had to spend time during our holiday rebooking our return tickets as they had reserved seats at an unsuitable time and we had to pay for new tickets (luckily Dawson and Sanderson travel agents had refunded this just incase we had problems).
Contacted customer service in June and told they would look into it and contact us.
By September I had no reply so sent another letter and received no reply.
I sent a letter in October and got a reply in November with another generic letter saying they would look into it. I had asked for the managers name and address, this was not given so sent an email asking for this.
This is still ongoing and I am appauled at their so called "Customer Service"

Never Recieved Booking Confirmetion From Cresta Ho
Never recieved booking confirmetion from Cresta Holidays for short break to Paris. Eurostar times were changed without warning. Submitted a complaint about this in January which is still ongoing due to extremely poor customer service. Beware!
