We Booked Hotel Flight N Transport. Got To Alicant

We booked hotel flight n transport. Got to alicante airport and told we were to get no transfer as there was a problem. They couldn't tell us what the problem was but refused to transfer us. We then spent many stressful hours trying to get to put hotel. Eventually arriving we then spent several days stressfully trying to ensure a transfer back at the end of the holiday. Asda travel customer service were rubbish. 4 months later we are still waiting for a resolution. Adds travel no longer exists.....I'd never use or recommend them again

Never Again!!

After arriving at our hotel in Greece at 9.30pm we found out that the hotel didnt have our booking, So we was moved to another hotel for the evening. Another half an hour and the reception would of been shut so we would of been stranded.

On return to the hotel the next day we was told we could have a room for 6 days then move out of the hotel for 3 days then return back to the hotel, which is totally unacceptable.

To cut a very long story short in total we was moved 5 times and used 3 hotels in two weeks. I requested to speak to a supervisor/manager on numerous occasions but was refused.

I for one will never use this company again for booking a holiday.

I've reported it to the trading standards, and I got a very interesting reply back from them. I would suggest you did the same and give the trading standards as much evidence against them as possible.

Thats happened to us too, we booked as we thought we were covered with ABTA ATOL etc but found out we are not when we wanted to make a claim. Never again

An update on this post i contacted ABTA to complain and ask for compensation. The response was Asda travel is covered by ABTA but their suppliers who supply the accommodation aren't therefore we're not entitled to anything

Holidaymaker's Nightmare

I booked holiday to Tenerife for June 2015 with private transfer worth £42.00. We were leaving on Saturday but realised on Thursday that there was no voucher code for private transfer. So I rang their customer service. The person on the phone was not helpful as she said she will ring me back in 1-2 hours but never rang me back. On Friday called them early in the morning, the woman on the phone said she will ring their supplier again and will ring me back. I told her to ring me back even if my transfer hadn't been booked so I could sort something else out. She rang me a few hour later and told me she is still trying to contact supplier and will call me before 8 (their closing time). I waited but to no avail. Tried ringing them after 8 and guess what they are closed. So had to leave to Tenerife due to early flight. Went to the airport just to check if there was a booking there was none. Called asda and complained as we were expecting a call even if there was not booking and asked for a refund. They said will take 7 to 10 days. Then got a taxi to hotel. Came back from holiday and rang them again as no refund emails or anything. The woman on the phone again says refund will be there in 7 to 10 days and yet no sincere apologies. TERRIBLE !!!

Unhelpful Customer Services

Booked a Berlin city break back in January. All seemed Ok until I needed to phone customer Services on Good Friday. I fly on the Monday and they are closed over weekend. Somebody answered the phone and said she couldn't help me. I asked to speak to someone who could help to be told it is bank holiday and people are entitled to a break. I have paid £1400 and I am entitled to customer service. Will not book with Asda again>

Asda Travel ( Poor In Every Manor ) Not Recommended

I had a holiday in Malta 1-09-2014 , Stayed at Burlington Court Apartments

St Julians, Saint Julian's, Island of Malta, Malta....This was in very poor condition, the 1st floor was a building site , the room was just awful, broken plug sockets or not cover on them just bear wires showing, No fridge in the self catering apartment , 2 ring cooker with the wrong plug sockets so could not us same as kettle, curtains where in a very dad state, with major stains on them, no lights in the landing could not see where we where going, No joke.. 4 day before they put 1 light bulb...I have sent picture of the holiday to adsa travel, and all I was given is the run around 5 months later and still excuses after excuses.... Asda Travel seems cheap but don`t be fooled.. because you will only end up in some dump and good luck in complaining to Asda Travel because they don`t care...........

POOR HOLIDAY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOTS AND LOTS OF LIES

NEVER AGAIN GOOD BUY ASDA TRAVEL

Appalling

I've just booked a city break. The cost came to £800 which is verified on my confirmation and ATOL certificate yet they've charged me an extra £120 on my bill. Sent them several emails and called them but they still haven't sorted it out. Staff member was rude and unhelpful. All a complete nightmare! So sorry I've booked with them now.

Asda Travel-you Cannot Trust Prices On Internet

We booked and paid for 3 rooms in a hotel in Tenerife on-line and received an acknowledgement stating the cost for the hotel was £1300.00. The following day we received an e-mail to say that between browsing and booking the price had increased by over £600.00 and did we still want to go ahead-the answer was obviously no. 1 week later we found the holiday again on the Asda Travel website for the same price so thought lets try again. Once again we received an acknowledgement and, guess what, the following day we received an e-mail to say the price had increased by over £200.00 the reason being that we booked 3 rooms and they were not all on promotion. Their system is flawed in the fact that it allows you to book and pay for something that is not actually available.

Disappointing

My experience with Asda Travel did not start well, as I received an email saying the holiday was to be confirmed, and by the time they responded the next day to say that my card had been refused (I checked with the bank and they had no record of the transaction) the price had gone up, and they were not prepared to offer any reduction on the booking.

On arrival in Sharm el Sheikh, one of our bags had gone missing en route, and the baggage handling rep was pretty disinterested and told us to fill in a form and he would put it into the system. After half an hour of asking him what could be done (we were particularly concerned as the bag contained my mother's heart medication) he finally assured us he would ring us later to update us, but it would then be our responsibility to come back to the airport (at our expense) to collect the bag. Needless to say, he never phoned, and we only got the bag back thanks to the wonderful help of our hotel concierge, who rang the airport and checked periodically, and then sent a taxi to get the bag.

When we then spoke to the Asda Travel rep at the hotel (having had a rude note under our door as we didn't make the welcome meeting because we were sorting ourselves out having lost the bag) not only had he not even heard about our losing the bag, he was utterly disinterested since we had by then got it back with the hotel's help. He then told us that even though we had booked transfers through Asda Travel, it was our responsibility to get the hotel to phone the transfer company the day before our departure to confirm the flight time and book the transfer. I would not book transfers with them again, as on arrival they only exacerbated the bag loss problem by jumping up and down telling us to hurry as we were keeping other passengers waiting - even though we had booked a private transfer for ourselves.

Suffice to say they won't be my first choice for booking a holiday through again!

Flexible - At Your Expense

Well, what can I say. I have been trying to book a holiday through Asda travel for a week or so now, and every time I get on there, the prices change, or the flights are no longer available.

I mean, how can I go on the website and find a holiday for £1402, and then find the same holiday 5 minutes later after doing some more searching for £1635? Really, exactly the same holiday. It didn't just happen once, it happened several times.

When I finally got the holiday I wanted at the price I wanted to pay, I booked. Surprise, surprise, a day later I had an email through to say the price had gone up. They told me that the flight prices had gone up, but since I had a record of the flights and prices, I checked, and they hadn't.

I wonder what other stunts they will pull?
